  • the 1986 version is much better

  • can someone please tell me what is happeing exactly in this scene? Why is that lady shrunken in the first place?!?

  • hahaha oh man funny audio

  • With all the films I've seen, this is still the most disturbing scene I've ever seen.

  • Yeah, that was pure horror.

  • It's a pity the audio is so low.... The sound of the man/fly screaming is quite an important bit of the clip.

  • the simpsons spoofed this scene bart was teasing the spider like that.

  • They should have ended the movie with this but instead they end it with a happy scene and an uplifting song......

  • lmfao this is freaking hilarious

  • God, that was creepy. I know somebody who's going to have nightmares.

  • They made fun of this scene in Disney's "The Emperor's New Groove". when kuzco is walking through the jungle and sees a fly in a web, which says "HELP ME! HELP ME! AHHHH!" in that same squeaky voice. the spider bites off its head with a *crunch* and the fly says "Too Late....."

  • please help me...go away....no no nooooooo!!!!

wow, best twisted end of all the scary movies

  • One of the most chilling and horrifying movies scenes ever!

  • The modern version might have gone into more depth when creating the human/fly hybrid, but DAMN, this bit is disturbing....

  • that was like the weirdest, bone chilling thing ever lol

  • that was creepier than I expected...

  • That scream seems unearthly.

  • Shades of Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis.

  • hmmm the psychopath "psychologists" are back.

  • You cant compare the Original to the Remake.

While the original has physcological horror and VINCENT PRICE as a lead role counts as a great film in my book.

The 1986 version is more into the body horror and is visualy disturbing enough to make anyones skin crawl.

Either way there is no way one is better than the other.

  • well, u have to think them as 2 diffirent movies. The 1986 version is loosely based on this one, you know, like "spaceballs", a parody of star wars, but the only thing common is the characters that look alike. Plus, if you see the ending of the 1986 version and really tthink, it's kinda poetic. This monster that she kills, was once a human being, a human being that she loved. And look at it now...

  • comparing directors styles is like comparing apples to bowling pins.

  • The producer of this Fly movie was much more intelligent that the 1984 version, he had a much higher IQ

  • I am suprised that they understood genetic enought in 50's so they knew anything about DNA and cells mixing and stuff.

    Medics ok, but filmmakers...

  • The remake is nothing compared to the original and its differant anyway. Originals are the best.

  • Great scene!! This movie is well worth watching. The remake is absolutely fantastic and shouldn't be missed.

  • he only has one human arm and a human head. the rest of his body is fly. you don't see the fly legs or wings because they're already wrapped in spider silk.

  • oh god its so scary

  • real intense.....

  • Goddamn that is some fuken disturbing/creepy ass shit.

  • XD I'm sorry but this is just too funny to me.

  • I actually think it's funny AND creepy at the same time =)

  • that sucks theres a reason spiders are not the size of dogs or cats humans would be the flies

  • I happened to catch the ending of The Fly (1958) yesterday and that scene freaked me out

  • I remember watching this movie as a little kid and rooting for the spider. xD

  • it doesnt look like Price is looking at the web like the other guy

  • I wonder why the fly had a

  • "I shall never forget that scream as long as I live." classic

  • This was so scary to me as a kid! I always wondered why they waited so long to smash the spider with the rock, I mean , the spider bit the poor man THEN he was smashed. Poor guy.

  • LOL I used to think the same thing. Wow, 51 years later and it STILL gives me the creeps! ( And I am only 46 LOL )

  • I heard they had to refilm that scene a shitload of times cuz every time Vincent Price hard the "help me" he'd start laughing.

  • You have no idea how much this movie scared me when I was a little kid. Serious emotional scarring right here. D:

  • Sounds like me when I was walking down the aisle getting married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hahahahaha!!!

  • God that is so disturbing...

  • I love his film - I think's it's so epic how the 'Help me' line is used again in the remake, and how the head crushing scene is referenced in Fly 2 - so much homage!

  • jusus i will have nightmares

  • even if they saved him they couldnt do anything his body was smashed by his wife..so only 1 choice give him a quick death w/ the rock

  • thats me in the web, fed spider hates me lol

  • Yes I am sorry to say that is me in the Spider web I will explain

  • When I was a kid, this scene disturbed me for years lol. I still can't look at a spider the same way.

  • omg i saw this movie only ONE TIME when I was like 5 and i still remember this scene today. I agree with alfalhomi---most disturbing scene in film history

  • (shudders) thats the most disturbing scene in human history

  • OHHHHH DUDE YOUR'RE SO RIGHT

  • Yeah, thanks for the help, dick.

  • this scene made me cry when I was little- now looking at it I wonder why the fly had a human hand

  • And the Doctor had a fly hand...remember?

  • lol I forgot that part but again I was about 4 when I saw it

  • so i never seen this movie but was it just the fly had his head and was able to scream help me?cuz either or thats some fucked up shit

  • Thanks anyway for sharing this classic scene mrmanock.

  • The version from 1986 is waay better!!

  • yeah but this came first xP

  • Kinda sick they just stood and watched while the poor bastard's screaming for mercy...

  • yeah and then they just pelted them both with a rock! the point of that was?!?!?!

  • The first lesson is, don't mess with some things for science. The second lesson I guess is, if you do, a loved one may just watch you die like it were an HBO special.

    Educational flick, huh?

  • To put him out of his misery

  • wow you are a whiz kid!

  • I don't know if you were being sarcastic or not, but there's only one thing I have to say:

    Lulz....:|

  • ;) ;) ;)

  • They were in SHOCK!

  • I would too, but I wouldn't stand there and listen to him, that's cruel and sadistic beyond belief!

I actually had this as a dream last night *shudder*

  • Well I don't know about you, but if I saw someone I knew with the body of a fly hanging on a web, I would be in so much shock it would take me a while to comprehend what I'm witnessing.

  • It's funny until I imagine being in that situation myself

  • Lmao

  • This scene freaked me out as a kid. I am now 18 and I still cannot bring myself to watch it... :(

  • I can look at it, just not listen to it...the screams are what made the scene

  • It's interesting that you should say about not being able to listen to it because straight after this the inspector says

"I don't think I shall forget those screams as long as I live"

I watched it as a child and I never forgot them either.

BTW no disrespect to mrmanok but someone else has just downloaded a longer version that goes to the end of the movie.

And you can click on where it says "Watch In High Quality" and enlarge to full screen without going pixulated.

    Its in my favourites

  • Yeah, they threw that line in there because they knew none of us would live it down. Even now as I type this, the audio's off so I don't hear anything.

They did a good job at making this a horror film for the ages, something that would impact pop culture for decades to come, but it can't be denied the fact that THIS scene is what made the entire film a horrific memory.

  • wtf

  • Well, imagine you're an actor and you have to react to a fly with a tiny human head -- which isn't even there!

  • ill never try to eAT and watch THIS clip again

  • LOL, i remember eating spag - bol aged 7 when watching this at dinner time. the smell of spag bol ALWAYS reminds me of this! i hate flies!

  • In fact while I am writing this comment and watching this clip I am taking my lunch. I am trying to watch this clip as many times as possible to forget why it scared me as a kid, LOL. You know, if you see something that scares you again and again suddenly it makes you laugh, LOL!!!!.

  • This completely freaked me out when I was aboy!

  • i like how the inspector guy waits till AFTER the spider bites off the man-fly's head

  • I...am...going to...have...nightmares...for the rest...of...my life...

  • ROFLOL! i couldn't agree with you more

  • To torchiest

Well, they were probably in a state of shock. I mean, that was not only horrifying... but unbelievable...

  • Yeah, but he did it a little too late...

  • Same here

  • This is funny in a ghastly way, but also terrifying. Imagine it: a tiny voice, a fly with a human head, screaming as a blood-sucking spider approaches. Imagine YOURSELF as the fly! What a classic horror movie moment.

  • Well said. The voice is silly but that bigass spider and the horror on the scientist's face is quite grotesque.

  • that's why i'm afraid of spiders >_>

  • According to the actors in the scene they couldn't stop laughing when filming the scene.

  • I would totally flip out if I met someone who had a voice like that....(shudders violently)

  • Excellent!! That's a real twist-disturbing ending!!

  • One of the most frightening scenes ever filmed.

  • this is even creepier then the remake.

  • This has been parodied so many times that I can't keep a straight face, but it's still got a creepy touch to it!

  • Along with the scene of the dog with the man's face from 'The Invasion of the Body Snatchers' this has to be one of the all time classic horror movie scenes of all time and still retains it's power to shock even after all these years.

  • I can't wait to see the remake of that!

  • Funny you should mention that. That scene

appeared and was shocking and it was such a good

effect, the dirertor could have run off and

built on that alone. So when it appeared and

vanished, it left a strong mental imprint.

I'm glad someone else picked up on it..now

    I don't feel so nutty!!

  • The above was in ref to IndianBlanket's post.

  • The most disturbing scene ever to be filmed.

  • I have to agree..I'm 58 and still

    remember it from childhood.

  • Its fantastic when movies can do that to you.

  • Man, this part always creeps me out.

  • that was freaky

although i like the convienient rock lying without any fellows.

  • top film!..that scene is soooo freaky!

  • That is so creepy and horrible yet I have to keep watching it over and over because it is a true classic

  • odd. i could have sworn this movie was in black/white...

    still, very very creepy...

  • Perhaps you watched it on a black and white tv lol.

  • no better horror scene ever made

  • Ick. That was awful. Why did they wait for the spider to start munching on his head before they crushed it with a rock?!

  • Man really scary scene, just like the re-make from 1986 which is also very creepy.

  • Goddamn, that's so disturbing!

  • Price is the man!

  • Shit...I have to see this film. Besides, anything with Vincent price is worth seeing.

  • That seen still freaks me out as a grown man. I love this film. One of Price's best.

  • DUDE
