I LOVED how you approached them, you gave them the message, food for thought, a serious consideration they needed to make.

Mormonism is THE perfect example of how ALL the religions came to be. A charismatic con man says that he is the messenger of god, people get convinced, then people get conned .......again!. Records get lost/destroyed or just denied by the "Devil did it" argument.

The Book of Mormon was not suddenly declared the word of God, it was the word of God after its completion almost 1600 years ago. The only thing the lady does not understand of why the missionary believes so adamantly is that according to the beliefs of the Mormons the Book of Mormon is not some new modern written text.
The Book of Mormon in itself does not contradict the Bible, and merely is a record of the currently existing tribes and the coming of Christ in the America's because they had not yet received his gospel. In accordance with the beliefs of the LDS church, that particular portion was hidden away for the proper time, because, just like the people that Christ first taught and preached to, fell into Apostasy. The Bible still existed on the earth, but the book of Mormon simply is a record of that time.
Okay, so the very first written word of God that we know of started in 1400 b.c., the completion of the original manuscripts that make up the 39 books of the old testament was in 500 b.c. and in 1st century A.D. the completion of the 27 books of the New Testament (at the time including the 14 books of Apocrypha). In the Book of Mormon, it states the first writings began in 600 B.C., just to get a couple things out there. The very first fully translated King James Bible was published in

I was pressured by mormon missionarys to read BOM to get burnning, i felt it was wrong as why cant i read Bible? and why do i need Joesph and have beleif in him as requirment salvation? these questions to my baptism into church even when i didnt have burning. i then said to much, its too dependant on Joesph smith then Jesus. i then did research and now im no longer going to be mormon.

@pretoshohmoofc i recently met with mormon missionaries a few times to learn more about their beliefs. They kept wanting me to pray about it and every time we met i said no i havent prayed. Well, the last time we met, we had a closing prayer and he asked if it was true. I felt super awkward and he asked me how i felt and stuff and yea... really uncomfortable that he pushed me into that situation.
@h0lystrike Be careful with mormons. The at first they present the Book of Mormon, but this book is the most non-mormon book that they have. There contains no mormonism in the Book of Mormon. This is why they use it. It bridges the gap between mainstream Christianity and this cult. If you ever have any questions or concerns you can always feel free to contact me if you want. @pretoshohmoofc i recently met with mormon missionaries a few times to learn more about their beliefs. They kept wanting me to pray about it and every time we met i said no i havent prayed. Well, the last time we met, we had a closing prayer and he asked if it was true. I felt super awkward and he asked me how i felt and stuff and yea... really uncomfortable that he pushed me into that situation.

@h0lystrike Be careful with mormons. The at first they present the Book of Mormon, but this book is the most non-mormon book that they have. There contains no mormonism in the Book of Mormon. This is why they use it. It bridges the gap between mainstream Christianity and this cult. If you ever have any questions or concerns you can always feel free to contact me if you want. Be careful, don't give your mind over to some smooth talking missionaries.

I don't know why Misscrackerjack's comments were flagged as spam... At least the one I read was certainly appropriate. You're RIGHT about your comment & I'd meant to correct that in the description! Going on the fly like that I often make mistakes--I should NOT have said he was a good person--none of us is good. (Perhaps I could've said "you may be morally better than a lot of people" but none of us is good). We ALL need the forgiveness of God!

She did a great job. She hit all the right spots but didn't ask questions. Questions make them think. Hopefully she planted some seeds that will give room for God's word to grow.

@Here2ownU Yeah, I agree. She did a good job preaching. But asking more questions would have been nice. She should have told them more about the bad fruits of Joseph Smith.
