Just got an email from a friend proudly announcing that she has been listed in Cambridge Who's Who. At first I thought what bogus company is this? So I looked it up and after about three clicks I came to this video.
Do I tell the person that they have been had? I have an MBA from Canterbury University...but I bought it as a joke. I am thinking of buying a ministerial degree but again just for fun....but my friend is so proud that she has been listed on this Who's Who. Do I tell her?
thank you for this video because they called me today. as I told her I will call her back... she hesitated yet told me she would publish my stuff. hilarious! I'm grateful I thought twice before giving my card info! thanks!
@Hanni2471 AM BEING SCAMMED AS WE SPEAK.... (TYPE) LOL UHHH THAT BITCH!!!!! MADE ME ACTUALLY CRY FOR HAPPINESS AN ACHIEVEMENT AWARD , DONALD TRUMP BLA BLA BULL SHIT!!! ....AS WE WERE ON THE PHONE I BEING THE COMPUTER TEKKY I AM GOOGLED THIS AND WHILE I SPOKE TO HER....SCAMMED HER RIGHT BACK WITH AN OLD CREDIT CARD/DEBIT CARD AND THE IDIOT SAID SHE WILL STILL PUBLISH!!!! MORONS !! SO I GOT IT TOO!!
@tracik13 At least you were smart enough to give false info. I googled them after I gave my credit card number, not before. I though they were legit because I saw their ad on Linkedin, and yes, I was expecting to pay a subscription fee. Too bad the whole thing is bogus because a professional networking site for managers, executives, and entrepreneurs is actaully a good idea.
Thanks for this! hahah is Elaine their only employee left?!?!?!? Elaine keeps on calling me blocked/private and I just decided to ignore the calls after she mentioned I had to be "interviewed" but she calls me every single day at the same time... Cant wait to answer her call tomorrow and END this for good!
?Nope, I got had myself. Got the tiniest little listing in this huge book worth totally nothing as I have not heard a single thing from anyone at Cambridge Who's Who as I have from any other social network. Nothing at all. I am an unfortunate $700 level victim who did not have the $700 to begin with who had significant depression and this was just poor timing. Please, I ask you all, be careful and use the FREE NETWORKS OUT THERE!!
Well I used to work with Cambridge Who's Who and it definitely is not a scam. We have many members who use it and get tremendous benefits from the networking and having them help you with Personal Branding. This site will work best for business owners or people who use it to bounce ideas off of one another. If you are going to pay and never use it then don't bother. If you want it for the plaque, well to me that is silly as well. NOt a scam though!
THANK YOU!!! Just trying to get my business out there and THIS is what I get!! This Cambridge Who's Who was on LINKED IN though, I APPLIED for this crap! Thanks again! This is even better than consumer reports!
If you weren't as smart of lucky - and gave your credit card information - want you to know you CAN get your money back. I just did. Very similar story. Gave my credit card. Looked at my email receipt the next morning and decided I just couldn't afford it. So I wrote to cancel. Didn't work So I complained to Amex. And then Better Business Bureau in New York. Between the BBB and Amex, I got all my money back. Still feel like a fool, but at least I'm not a broke fool.
If you weren't as smart of lucky - and gave your credit card information - want you to know you CAN get your money back. I just did. Very similar story. Should have known.
See, i thought it was supposed to be a way to get your business out there and that being accepted was honoring the hard work that I have put into my business. I told him though that I wasn't in the position to be spending a bunch of money when I just cover my bills each month. If I had the kind of money they wanted, then I wouldn't need that kind of recognition to promote my business. He eventually told me that I could be listed with no charge I just won't have access to the network database.
I got Elaine too! My good fortune was that I Googled while on the phone. The pressure sales were amazing. Each time I said 'NO' another package was suddenly available at a lower price. Hmph. Dodged that one. I was actually tempted to play this video in Elaine's ear as she kept trying to sell a small and small package. But I didn't. I just ended the call. THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO!
Awesome video. I got an email from them, and I'm sure they'll be calling any second now trying to sell me something, but they won't get my money! Thanks for your informative and rather entertaining video. Thank you also for the tip about how to label a scam as a question instead of a statement on YouTube so it doesn't get deleted--definitely GOOD TO KNOW!
NEVER give into high pressured sales and NEVER give money to an unknown company over the phone and NEVER give money to people who are not upfront about fees from the beginning. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GET A GOLF MEMBERSHIP!!! There isn't a single online listing that is worth that kind of money. Any TRUELY elite company does not have to perform high pressured sales. Please be intelligent. Credible companies are quite clear that they do not solicit money over the phone or email.
I found this video while I was online with Jackie from Cambridge, she was working trying to close the deal on the $769 [now]-$199 later package...I told her as a business woman I needed to check things out, it wouldn't be a good call to make such an impulsive monetary move...then I read the heading for this vid-when I told her I was on youtube it dropped to $99...ego high and low all in one phone call, but thanks for posting this, saved me some aggravation later.
They are still making annoying phone calls, still haven't refunded my money, still using new names when they call and I haven't received whatever the "book' is supposed to be yet.If this was a legitimate business my money would have been refunded when I requesed that in writing,by e-mail etc in November/December 2010.Pinnacle/Premiere are the same company but somehow Ashford got my Credit Card # and read it back to me.Cambridge replied that they are not affiliated with these 2 companies.
BRILLIANT! I've been "invited" by them a zillion times. Never took the bait. LOVE this video!! I've shared it on FB because they have a deceptive banner ad now - "Successful Women Network."
@CaliforniaMovieLover I shared it on FB awhile back.I haven't gotten my money back and they still call.My bank knows I don't want them to automatically charge my card.I still don't know how they got my card# but a movie on LMN called STOLEN IDENTITY:THE MICHELLE BROWN STORY explained how the crime is commited and the penalties.Companies like banks etc need to check out their employees backgrounds very carefully.
I just got hoodwinked by Premiere/Pinnacle into accepting a book I didn't order or authorize a charge on my credit card for..Let's see if it shows up here.I sent a copy of the receipt back with a request for a refund almost 2 months ago.
Watch out for ASHFORD,PINNACLE PUBLISHING and PREMIERE.They do the same thing..constantly bombarding with telephone calls and requests for money they don't refund.I thought they could help me with a listing for my career as a writer but it's a scam.I notified my banks so they can't charge anything to my credit cards and I've contacted The Better Business Bureau Of New York.PUBLIC BEWARE!! I doubt I'll get my money back and shame on them!!
Just to be clear - I didn't get scammed but one of my close friends who is out of work did and it makes me mad - she can't afford this kind of BS right now. She called back 10 minutes afterward and they tried to tell her she couldn't cancel - what a bunch of BS - if they were legit they wouldn't lie about a refund. If they are such an esteemed organization why is a key word on their main web page spelled incorrectly "Provisionsal Certificate"? There is no second "s" in provisional!
On Cambridge Who’s Who website they state they have 400,000 members yet their annual revenues on Hoovers of $25M. That means members are only paying $62.50 each – not the $999 for the platinum membership, or even $99 for the basic membership. And what about the sales pitch where they will give you a companion air ticket for free. If this is the case then they would have paid out over $160M in tickets for a company with revenues of only $25M. Doesn't add up no matter how you slice it.
If you opt for the service and agree to pay any fee over $500 they will then do everything they can to get you to “sign” an agreement because in the state of New York, any telephone based sale contract over $500 has to be in writing and signed by the consumer or it is non enforceable. If you opted for a membership over $500 and didn’t sign anything – too bad they are screwed.
Even if you call back 10 minutes later stating you have changed your mind they will give you all kinds of BS on why you cannot cancel. This is blatantly false – you have received no service, goods, etc. at that point in time and are within your legal rights under New York state law to cancel. You have 3 business days. If u get anything in the mail do not open it - return it to them unopened.
Your video was very amusing and confirmed what I suspected! Luckily my vanity isn't strong enough to even consider such an offer (or maybe I'm just too cheap! LOL!)
i used to work for Cambridge Who's Who.. and I assure you, its not a scam. If you take advantage of the different tools offered, it is a great way to network yourself and gain some exposure. If you don't want it...then simply say no. There is no lying, deceit, or scam involved in this company. It has become so successful that they even partnered up with the Trump Organization. So please stop bashing a company that really does what it promises and if you dont want it...hang up,
@Vanessa257 of course YOU would say that and they teamed up with Trump Jr. not the organization and only because he was paid! get out of here it's an immoral and souless business either you won't admit it or you don't see it
@mattdogg65 No, Mattdogg. I worked for Cambridge. I teamed up with the actual organization. A scam means a fraudulent business. In absolutely no way does this company don't do what they promise. You get a phone call, you either say "Yes" or "No." Simple as that. It's no so difficult to comprehend. If you could...please give me ONE example how they are a souless business. Just one.
@Vanessa257 - I'll give you one Vanessa. I'm a sales professional with 14+ years of experience. The high pressure sales tactics employeed by Cambridge are sleazy. I would NEVER attempt to sell a potential client in this fashion. If they want to be taken seriously by serious executives and if they truly provide value, they should not need to resort to these tactics - especially not denying refunds to those who are entitled.
@Vanessa257 when I said I wanted to research the company while I was being pressured, I was told I had to act now, we went back and forth about why I wouldn 't make an almost $1000 investment without knowing more ($769 now-on the spot, and $199 later), Jackie kept reading that sales pitch, the price just kept going down...finally to $99. Most companies that are not a scam don't need to hard sell, I found this video while I was on the phone, and was able to feel good when saying no thank you
Cool. I've had a few emails from this bunch. Thought I'd check it out. My 'scam whiskers' were twitching so searched YouTube. Thanks for your story. So glad you weren't ripped off.
@dlongm01 This guy is a tool don't base ur decision from what he says. Like all netwkng sites u have to put in work to get what u need. They do have major connections u can make (where otherwise u wouldn't have been able to get a phone call through 2 some of them), but u need to explore as if u went to a netwkng meeting. Introduce & tell them about urself, what u are looking for or whatever, and keep in touch. They just weed out the bad and underage for u (unlike faceb where every1 is an exec).
I am so furious right now i am going to protest to this matter!!this is just wrong because there are families now needing jobs and work hard and hardly get anymoney then just to scam them and leave them no money in their credit cards AND TO ADDITION also leaving it in DEBT trying to pay off the bills and trying to feed themselfs so then monthely they take out nearly ALL your money and you are just JUST manageing to scrap by ....they should be ashamed people right now really need jobs espacially
These scams come in many forms, they are known as vanity publishing, they continue to evolve and change names all the time. Pinceton Premier, Strathmore Who's Who, Distinguished Professionals Online, and just about any business that claims to be a 'list of business leaders' or an 'association of business professional' is a total scam!! Watch out for them, report the emails you get to the FTC or the BBB!
Too Funny...they got me too but I quickly called canceled my credit card and called them back to cancel the membership(maybe not quick enough...their charge for 208 is pending and I will have to dispute it...they sent me an email with a e-sign to get my money back...I'm afraid too sign it...thinking I be signing up for something else I don't want. Ugh..help!
I also received an invitation to be listed with Canbridge Who's Who and was called later and interviewed. I did not fall for it but these folks are good and sound totally legitimate so beware and eveything this gentleman says in this video is totally correct.
They want me in the Who's Who. Funny thing is, I have yet to do anything worth noting. I am 10 years old. Maybe they have a youth discount. Maybe a allowance lay-away plan. Thanks for the video.
with each membership slowly decreasing in price as I said I wasn't financially ready to lay out hundreds of dollars in one spontaneous setting. By the time she got down to the third "membership" option, I realized that she was trying to hook me in. I kept telling her I couldn't afford to put money out at this time, but she insisted on offering me cheaper memberships. In any case, I eventually made it evident that I wasn't interested and she let up. Now that I look back on it, it was really funny
I just got a call from the Cambridge Who's who today and it was quite an experience to say the least. I was all anxious at first because, like you, I thought I really had some potential with this thing. The woman started interviewing me and I was nervous because I thought I was not qualified enough, being a college student and all. After she said I was a great candidate, I had a sigh of relief..UNTIL the membership fees came in. She literally tried to make me buy at least 5 different memberships
I'm only sorry I filled out the online application and submitted my cell number BEFORE Googling to find they're a scam. Well they can now start calling me till hell freezes over, as I NEVER answer my phone for unknown or unrecognizable phone numbers.
But 40,000 people have seen the video................so maybe it is working out in your favour. I was taken by the Whos Whos thought and appreciate Kevin Knowles honesty. Saved me 600 bucks. Cheers to Kevin Knowles
I got a call the other day. I was going to pay with my credit card when the lady asked me what college I graduated from. I told her I didn't. She then told me not to worry about that , thousands of their entries never graduated college. I then asked her what is this the who's who of what? She said top executives in America. They're all top executives and they didn't graduate college? I felt like the who's who of dummies. I put my cc back in my wallet then hung up the phone.
Great red alert cards. you are precious with your honesty and humor I had a fun time watching!
I googled CWW before doing anything TYG! I see all these red alerts and your video so I decided to mail the card back to them - AT NO COST TO ME - just for the sake of all of you who didn't google soon enough. Ok, so they are paying my postage to get a card that says "HA! I scammed you!"
maybe not that funny but I really have to do it now that I've seen the video!!!
I was on the phone with them - actually going through with the $189 deal and I was multitasking - looking for comments. I found the article you mentioned, but this video convinced me to stop the deal. ANy time they say that I must make up my mind right now I get suspicious
Thank you! Just spoke with someone trying to list me in CWW, did the whole interview thing.. then the sales pitch.. $789,no wait, $599,what about $189.. wait, how about $99! Wow.. it went from $789 plus $199/yr to $99! WOW! After seeing your video.. I feel GREAT that I said "No".This is totally an ego boost.Supposedly, I am still entitled to being listed in CWW..for FREE! We'll see just how legit it is..I'm not holding my breath!
Thanks again, this just confirmed that I made the right decision.
They didn't get me, but they sure tried. They were polite but persistent.....wouldn't take "no" for an answer. I eventually just had to hang up on the guy while he was in mid-sentence.
Caimbridge Who's Who redefines the term "douchebags".
The "Cambridge Who's Who" preys upon those who need their egos inflated. Well, according to their membership fees, it may be in my best interest to have "my manufacturer," THE **GOD*** of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob tell me who the hell I am!!!!! That way, I'll save my money and receive an owners manual also! Also, with this approach, when I look in the mirror, I'll see.....................WHO I REALLY AM! And guess what? It's not a ......SUCKER!
Well, guess what???? I am a HARVARD girl, "Harvard Honey," and.......ALLLLLLLMOST got "scammed and schemed" by this so called organization. Moreover, there approach is phenomenal and so believable. Nonetheless, they still need to improve upon the following technicalities: having a "salesperson" call you via a "NEW YORK" telephone number (as Cambridge is located in Massachusetts), and, having their "salesperson" TONE DOWN the telemarketing approach. STAY AWAY!
@FLY2BWI No...no... no... you and anyone else who fell for this crap are retarded. Seriously. Look at yourself in the mirror and realize how stupid you are.
this dude has no job...maxed out and over the limit credit cards. spends his time on youtube quoting the wrong information and will end up in a cardboard box on the street beging for money I cant wait. FYI if you don't want people calling you....DON'T FILL OUT ANYTHING!!!! STUPID!
Thanks dude! And I want to tell you other viewers, their letter was all fancy and stuff! And the name Cambridge sounds really authentic. They even fucking created a website in my name and sent it to me to verify my personal information. Dont fall for this! I will blast dynamites in their asses if they ever call me on my phone! Stupid scamming motherfuckers!
I just realized who you were!! when I typed in " FART" your video came up. I don't think Cambridge Who's Who would really want your type of people on their web site, now I could be wrong. but someone who spends there time hanging out with young boys might seem a little questionable ??????
I almost fell for this shit. When that dude started saying you gotta pay all sorts of money then i was like, i wanna call you back.. i got the dude from $799 down to $189. I was like, this smells funny cause the guy would NOT let me just call him back. He wanted a confirmation from me. Then I hung up on him then he called me back. The thing is they rub your ego then they try to get your cash offering you some airfare. It is bullshit. Glad I hung up on him and searched this on line.
Just listened to you info on cambridge, did you know that everyone that is on Hollywood Blvd. paid for there name to be there they just don't give it for free? How about that for an ego boost? Cambridge does a service that you just don't want, you could of said no thank you when he called but you kept calling back. That makes you the idiot!!!!
Can someone please reply. I am 18. And i got a letter that my face is going to represent Medford, NY. I did not see my website fully, however they ask for job title, company name, etc. I just started college!!! then i find out that this might be a scam. :( ?????
I'm a sophomore in college and I've just received this today and decided to google it. I'd suggest you ignore anything that asks for a fee. I've been receiving a lot of these kind of mails from places like National Honor Society and stuff but they'd ask for a membership fee. I asked my professor if I should join it for a greater benefit, and she told me to pass it if it's not affiliated with the University. Always research first.
thanks. i decided not to go with it. i do not have that kind of money anyways. Also, my mom thinks it is a scam. i was so happy because i thought this (like you had said) benefit my life educationally and for future employers. sigh life sucks.
Consider yourself exceedingly fortunate in this matter. I was imprudent enough to be taken by these people for the same institutions entered as you. As a chemist with a recently acquired Masters in Science in Analytical Chemistry, I can tell you that it does make you seem foolish and headstrong for wanting advancement opportunities at any price. Don't reproach yourself my learned friend. This is a valuable learning experience. We're both wiser to the ware. Take Care. -John
haha, i just got done with the phone interview, as soon as the plantinum and gold packages came out, i was like, RED ALERT, then signal was lost, lucky me!
Great and thanks. Just had the guy on the phone and I was able to look at this video when speaking to him.. Sounded like the same guy and when I put the phone to the speakers he went quietly.
Probably trying a few alternate numbers of your credit card
I only wish my husband would've told me he was going to do this! I would've told him it was a scam before even looking into it. I smelled it a mile away. I'm glad your credit card didn't work. Unfortunately, my husband's did - let's just say I was not pleased he didn't have his ego in check! We're going to try and fight this!!!
While on the phone with them right now, I googled Cambridge Who's Who and found your video!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I was seconds from giving them my credit card #! WOW (P.S. it was my Ego that almost got me too!)
Do I feel like I have pie on my face! Thanks for the video. I was just called and like you said 'ego' got the better of me, and I actually went for the membership. Once off the phone I though, "wait a minute", I goggled them and came across a no. of alerting blogs. I immediately called them back and gave them a sob story about just having spoken with my husband who was very upset since money was very tight - housing situation. After 10 min more of hard selling, they canceled my membership.Phew!
I was called by them too, dont know how they got my name and #, i am a ceo so am thinking probably the web page of my corporation, but beofre discussing anything i asked him to call me back tomorrow.. the truth is i wanted to do the google search on them and found your video, Thanks a million
I filled out the form because it came with my universities letter head! I thought it was a scam so I gave them my google grand central number. I have four somewhat desperate recorded message from the last two weeks. What was I thinking!
I just got off the phone with them. They called blocked which I didn't answer the first time because it's my rule. Then they called blocked right away after the first time. So I though maybe it was an emergency or something so I answered it and guess who?? Who's Who! They apparently approved my application and wanted a phone interview, which I gave. They then proceeded to request $500 gold or $700 platinum which I said I'd call back. She told me "it's unfortunate you don't have the means"
having worked for 25 years as a secretary and having a birth defect,I couldnt figure out why I got this invite. Ive been retired on disability for 10 years now so I was puzzled. Any way, great video and really worth watching. Stand aside for the next Jerry Seinfield. LOL
Got my letter, for the registry of Professional Executive Women...all the way in the Middle East, where coincidentally I have worked in a business field closed to most women. Dang, they almost suckered me, but I found your video thank goodness. Thanks for a great job informing the public! I sure wouldn't want to waste $800 to tell my stories to this bogus operation, when someday I can bore my grandchildren to tears with them for free! :-)
I spent time talking to these people today. Came accross this video because of this. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about this and yes... I do think that this is a scam.
Got the infamous letter today addressed to my name and business address. I've googled "cambridge whos who review" and it's obvious this company specializes in scamming. There are plenty of users who've gotten ripped off. Not me.
Got my Cambridge Who's Who letter today and I was praised for my accomplishments and success in the business world and what a wonderful candidate I would make for my area. Technically Bill Gates is in my area and I just don't see me beating him out for this spot....
I wasn't going to even do this, but i just wanted to see what this 'cambridge who's who' was. The big hint I got was that I just graduated high school a couple of months ago. So...it's a big hint that it's not the greatest thing to get into when they are sending these letters to kids who just turned eighteen. Good luck everyone!
Loved your video!! Yes I too received a letter from the Cambridge who's who for Executive and Professional Women. You see I was immediately suspicious because frankly I haven't done anything exceptional to even be considered in a Who's Who...at least as far as I'm concerned. So unlike many I have read about, BEFORE I went online to fill out the "application" , I googled it and found quite a few websites talking about this company as being a scam. Yes..I almost fell for it too!!
Beautiful. Got the letter in the mail today. got excited that people might learn i was doing well. went strait to google. then strait to this video. saved me! just speed up the story man!
Just got the Whos Who letter in the mail today apparently im a good representative of my city. What tipped me off was that on the letter it says that my candidacy has been approved, but on the web site they ask for my information to be considered for inclusion in the registry. Just how many levels of approval are there? I didnt even have to try that hard for college. So then I hit up google which then led me to your video. The letter is now in the garbage, in 100 little pieces, of course.
They said I was a good representative of the "Executives" and "professionals" in my town...there's actually a lot of industry here, and some coming back from overseas, but I'm not it!
I concur with all the other posts. I've received this letter several times, twice from Cambridge and once from some Women in Business what have you. I've always thrown them away, following the adage of "If it looks too good to be true..."
But I got a great kick out of the video. Thank you for doing this. It put a smile on my face.
Cambridge is owned by Randy Narod His claim to shame is being banned by NASDAQ for life. It's seems he had an imposter take his series 7 and 63 other tests for him and got busted and was fined 50k. If you got a mailer, throw it out. Thats how they get around telmarketing laws.If you joined, cancel. if they call, tell them to remove you. If they keep calling, report them to the BBB. The scam will cost you between $99-over $900. The telemarketers probably only get paid if they get you to join.
Thank you for this information. I recieved a letter and recently did an interview with them about my business and the whole time I was on the phone with them, I was very unsure about it. I will cancel my membership.
Wow. I'm very glad you posted this. I got a letter in the mail and they even provided me with my own website. I went to it and filled out only my phone number (THANK GOD or whichever deity you wish) - they've yet to call me. Only after I did that did I research the "company." And then I read the bottom of the paper they sent, "Cambridge Who's Who is proudly NOT associated or affiliated with any other Who's Who publications..." And ya know, I currently don't even have a dang job! Damn, I'm dumb!
Thanks. A year later and it still continues to be so helpful! It was a very responsible thing to do. It seems that people that have received the letter do go online to check the legitimacy of CWW and to their luck, find this. I'm also sure that you're gradually impacting their "business model" with this post. So good on you!
Got the letter today and was very concerned about having my info on my "CWW personal website" as stated in the letter.
They sent me a letter today. It was weird. I am a 20 year old without a job and a GED. What in the world was I being appointed for?? Getting my GED?? Yeah OK. lol. I've never heard of the Who's Who before in my life!! I don't understand, I believe its a scam. How in the WORLD do they get our names...our phone numbers?? They better not call me.
Thank you!!! I got the letter in the mail today stating: "We are pleased to inform you that your candidacy was approved..." I thought I'd google them before falling for any trap - and came across your video. Thanks for saving me TIME & AGGRAVATION - and MONEY! :)
how does anyone know that it is really a scam if they are just trusting the scam reports. It might be a real thing here Everyone goes with there "gut feeling" but really when it comes down to your money anyone would have a "gut feeling" not to it's your money and the way people are with money there is no doubt that there is something telling you not to pay for it.
I don't know if they are real or not. but it might be. no one trusted them to find out.
You are what I call as being smart! Smart enough to use a valuable resource such as the internet to save and remind others that we are a voice for many. I am a female, small business owner that has been dealing in web development and research since 1993, and has seen the world wide web develop into something all together different than what was anticipated by me. Information is the tool of everyone's trade. LJK
just got the letter today !!!!oh boy what a surprise!!! should I consider myself one of the "LUCKY WINNER"lol I guess since I was at least chosen by this "FINE ENTITIES" N O ....any WHO Lol thank God for the World Wide Web..and all you people for being brave enogh to come forward.
Just got my letter today, and did a little research and found your vid. I wondered if anyone would post their experience and there you were. Thank-you for the public service anouncement. I'm going to send mine to one of, or maybe all of my local TV stations and ask them to do a little investigative reporting on these folks. I didn't trust it since my main contribution to society was a bit of Navy, and community theater.
I jus got my letter today & can you hear me ripping up my letter as we speak?? Even tho I have B.S.& M.A. degrees & graduated with 3.9 GPA, etc, I can't even find a real job right now so THAT alone raised a red flag... "You were recently appointed as a candidate for Cambridge Who's Who Registry among Executive and Professional Women...Managing Director appoints individuals based upon a candidate's current position"?? Hmmm....
And LMAO @ "Sweaty Call Center" (7:05-7:10) Really?!? That bad?? LOL
Considering I just accepted a job yesterday at a "sweaty call center" that only gave me a 2.5 minute interview, I figured this couldn't be real. And if it was, WHAT THE HELL WOULD I SAY WHEN THEY ASKED FOR MY PROFESSION?? LMAO So I wasn't gonna do it anyway, but at least I don't have to feel like a failure anymore for not filling out the bio! LOL Thanks man! ~X
Everyone ... report this who's who to the Cambridge DA and the feds. They committed fraud by writing that there was no charge and lying about their membership. Airfare to no where... I'm glad I didn't pay anything and told him I was doing fine in my life without being who's who.
Wow everybody says the same thing: I just got my letter and thought twice and Googled it. Me too! I was just handed my letter and I jumped right in front of my computer to check this out.
just got off the phone with them, they tried to get me for $570 for five years, and then tried the $99 for 2 years...seems too fishy cause when I refused all they got upset and nearly hung up on me. It went from being such a great opportunity to "the heck with you" what a scam
one of the "program directors" calls me concerned about my allegations in my email that there was some feeling of fraud going on. Remember I chose the 3 years with flight voucher for $369. When I cancelled my card, they confirmed a charge of $597 to my card from this company. I argued with this lady and she said the best she would do is refund everything but $99 since they had already worked on my profile. I told her either refund the entire amount or I will just dispute it. BEWARE OF CAMBRIDGE!
...she would give me the Platinum at the 3 year Gold price of $579. I still was uneasy about having to pay, but she said, you know what, I will give you everything for $369. I started thinking, hmmm...that would just about cover the cost of the flight voucher so this would be a good deal. I gave in and later that day, I saw all of these comments and negative experiences with them. I sent an email to them demanding my money back. Then next day, I cancelled my credit card and shortly after this...
Beware! This video is like deja-vu; except I was at my desk at work when they called to do the interview. The lady had called my desk several times and left messages, but I was always busy and never called back. Then she called my company's main line and the receptionist tracked me down. Big mistake. Did the interview and the whole time, I'm thinking it is free, but she said a Platinum lifetime membership was $789 and she would give me a companion flight voucher, I hesitated and she then said...
you are cute! i think you *are* somebody. thanks for posting a warning to the rest of us...I got this dumb thing in the mail today and it's already in the trash! :-)
Thanks for posting this. Just received my 15th call to schedule an interview. Your vid will save me the time and embarrassment of allowing my ego to get the best of me.
great video!! I just got a dumbass letter from these people, and I'm like what load of crap. I immediately came to the computer to look them up, and your video came up on the google list along with other sites listing this crap scam from these low life cambridge assholes. Thanks for our courage.

@tracik13 At least you were smart enough to give false info. I googled them after I gave my credit card number, not before. I though they were legit because I saw their ad on Linkedin, and yes, I was expecting to pay a subscription fee. Too bad the whole thing is bogus because a professional networking site for managers, executives, and entrepreneurs is actaully a good idea.

Topazngold 1 year ago
yes i feel very duped
KristianMandarino 1 year ago
If you opt for the service and agree to pay any fee over $500 they will then do everything they can to get you to “sign” an agreement because in the state of New York, any telephone based sale contract over $500 has to be in writing and signed by the consumer or it is non enforceable. If you opted for a membership over $500 and didn’t sign anything – too bad they are screwed.
Topazngold 1 year ago
Even if you call back 10 minutes later stating you have changed your mind they will give you all kinds of BS on why you cannot cancel. This is blatantly false – you have received no service, goods, etc. at that point in time and are within your legal rights under New York state law to cancel. You have 3 business days. If u get anything in the mail do not open it - return it to them unopened.

i used to work for Cambridge Who's Who.. and I assure you, its not a scam. If you take advantage of the different tools offered, it is a great way to network yourself and gain some exposure. If you don't want it...then simply say no. There is no lying, deceit, or scam involved in this company. It has become so successful that they even partnered up with the Trump Organization. So please stop bashing a company that really does what it promises and if you dont want it...hang up,
Vanessa257 1 year ago
@Vanessa257 of course YOU would say that and they teamed up with Trump Jr. not the organization and only because he was paid! get out of here it's an immoral and souless business either you won't admit it or you don't see it
mattdogg65 1 year ago
@mattdogg65 No, Mattdogg. I worked for Cambridge. I teamed up with the actual organization. A scam means a fraudulent business. In absolutely no way does this company don't do what they promise. You get a phone call, you either say "Yes" or "No." Simple as that. It's no so difficult to comprehend. If you could...please give me ONE example how they are a souless business. Just one.
Vanessa257 1 year ago
@Vanessa257 - I'll give you one Vanessa. I'm a sales professional with 14+ years of experience. The high pressure sales tactics employeed by Cambridge are sleazy. I would NEVER attempt to sell a potential client in this fashion. If they want to be taken seriously by serious executives and if they truly provide value, they should not need to resort to these tactics - especially not denying refunds to those who are entitled.
Topazngold 1 year ago
@Vanessa257 when I said I wanted to research the company while I was being pressured, I was told I had to act now, we went back and forth about why I wouldn 't make an almost $1000 investment without knowing more ($769 now-on the spot, and $199 later), Jackie kept reading that sales pitch, the price just kept going down...finally to $99. Most companies that are not a scam don't need to hard sell, I found this video while I was on the phone, and was able to feel good when saying no thank you

I just got a call from the Cambridge Who's who today and it was quite an experience to say the least. I was all anxious at first because, like you, I thought I really had some potential with this thing. The woman started interviewing me and I was nervous because I thought I was not qualified enough, being a college student and all. The "Cambridge Who's Who" preys upon those who need their egos inflated. Well, according to their membership fees, it may be in my best interest to have "my manufacturer," THE **GOD*** of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob tell me who the hell I am!!!!! Take Care. -John

Too bad for them I sobered up 3 years ago...

Thank you, thank you, thank you...
I got an envelope saying that I'd been selected for the "Executive and Professionals" who's who...
Well, I was recently laid off, so I found it hard to believe that I'm one of the elite businessmen of Los Angeles!
And then I stumbled upon your video post.
I appreciate it!!!

I hope everyone affected gets out of this one!

They better not call me.

how does anyone know that it is really a scam if they are just trusting the scam reports.

Feel good! You did GOOD!

I'm glad I didn't pay anything and told him I was doing fine in my life without being who's who.

one of the "program directors" calls me concerned about my allegations in my email that there was some feeling of fraud going on. BEWARE OF CAMBRIDGE!
oneloveloveonelove 2 years ago
...she would give me the Platinum at the 3 year Gold price of $579. Then next day, I cancelled my credit card and shortly after this...
oneloveloveonelove 2 years ago
