Dear Buck, My father recently died, and his family is being rediculous about his headstone. My mother gave his father the money to do what he wills with the headstone. My grandfather is stubborn and selfish, and will not listen to my mom. Her only stipulation about the headstone is that her name, my name, and my sisters names not be on it. @Midnightninja123 This is something really serious that you need to talk to a professional about. I'm not sure how this bf is related into this.. is he abusive? Do your parents know about this? As I'm sure you're aware eating disorders are life threatening and if you don't catch it in time the damage can be irreparable, meaning that she could have health problems for the rest of her life or even die from it (even if she's already stopped).
@English3Muffin If u are still in school, definitely talk to the school counselor because they'll have resources to help, and will talk to ur parents about it if the subject is uncomfortable for u or ur nervous how they'll react. If u aren't in school, look for resources online like a hotline that can give u info and help u find professionals nearby. This isn't something u can do on ur own. Eating disorders r a mental disease so this goes much deeper than an unhealthy habit. Hope this helps!

It's one thing to write nasty letters or make up rumours, but this sounds like she went through a lot to make the picture so take it seriously. Better safe than sorry! And PLEASE take care of yourself! Try not to walk by yourself and lock your doors and windows, and even get a restraining order. That photo is a death threat. She might mean business.
I got home from hanging out with a friend around 1 in the morning & as soon as I noticed I was, being robbed at gunpoint. I stayed very calm and gave him a few dollars I had hidden inside my wallet aside from the other money I had in there. He walked away and I just stood there not knowing what to do. In my job I was trained to just hand over the money because it is NOT worth losing your life over. Definitely report it to the police and try really hard to think of anything unique about the person, because for all you know this isn't the first time he's done this and it probably won't be the last. You DO NOT need to beat yourself up for this, in fact I'd be proud that I stayed calm!!

I've chosen the guy before but in hindsight I realise that even though it was great for awhile, it never lasted & I always regretted losing the friend for something that didn't last. U need to talk to ur friend about this & let her know how u feel. Tell her u value ur friendship but don't feel comfortable w/ her going for him. If she doesn't care, decide if u can support them or if u'll need space from her for awhile.

@RainbowDaisys As long as your 'other reality' doesn't take away time from friends, school, or family, then it is totally fine and completely normal. I'm 21, live a happy life and love my family and friends, but I never grew out of my other reality. I used to be worried that it was wrong but now I just go with it. I enjoy being a completely different character in a completely different life. It's fun and creative! =D

@ReadySetLivLife First of all, you shouldn't let that bother you. This is just your friends way of dealing with it. For some people, they're okay with it at first, but then, they suddenly realize that "Oh, I think this is wrong" or whatever and they back off for a while. Trust me, she's going to come back to you. @BeatlesSeinfeld123 There are some suicide hotlines that have a feature where you call them and they will call your friend to talk to them. They won't reveal who you are, But this can be really helpful. I'm sad to say that I no longer have the number, but I'm sure if you look up the number for the suicide hotline in your area or teen hotline they can really help you and your friend. :)

I think the best thing to do is get her to a shrink or a counsler. Maybe at school scedule a "group" (u and her) counsling session and tell her that it's becuase ur worried about her. I hope I can help :)

It may seem like you're betraying your friend's trust, but in reality you might be saving her life. If she really has attempted suicide three times, she will again. @themidnightline I'm going to tell you the same thing as I told BeatlesSeinfeld123. Many suicide hotlines have features where they will call your friend and talk to them. They will not tell your friend that you called. I agree with MyFlyingToaster. A teacher, a parent or an adult you trust can be very helpful. In the past when I've had suicidal friends I;ve spoken to a teacher that I know that they are close to.

@snnysidedown My family does that to me too, and I actually became depressed because of it. Having a really good friend helped me. My best friend is always telling me how beautiful I am, inside and out, and gives me compliments. Just keep in mind that he's an older brother - he's going to do that. My big brother did too. You need to know that he's only saying it because he knows it'll get under your skin, and make sure you have someone to talk to. (:

@Angelstarwarrior777 I play flute too so this caught my eye. You just have to tell her what you did, and ask for forgiveness. In most likelihood, she will say no and stop getting lessons from you.... but that's just what you have to accept since you did that to her. But if she DOES forgive you and continue with her lessons, then stop seeing her bf immediately. Hope I could help

@Midnightninja123 This is something really serious that you need to talk to a professional about. I'm not sure how this bf is related into this.. is he abusive? Do your parents know about this? As I'm sure you're aware eating disorders are life threatening and if you don't catch it in time the damage can be irreparable, meaning that she could have health problems for the rest of her life or even die from it (even if she's already stopped).

@English3Muffin If u are still in school, definitely talk to the school counselor because they'll have resources to help, and will talk to ur parents about it if the subject is uncomfortable for u or ur nervous how they'll react. If u aren't in school, look for resources online like a hotline that can give u info and help u find professionals nearby. This isn't something u can do on ur own. Eating disorders r a mental disease so this goes much deeper than an unhealthy habit. Hope this helps!

@MahoRoulete With something as serious as this, I would definitely call the police. That's a line that NO ONE should cross. It's one thing to write nasty letters or make up rumours, but this sounds like she went through a lot to make the picture so take it seriously. Better safe than sorry! And PLEASE take care of yourself! Try not to walk by yourself and lock your doors and windows, and even get a restraining order. That photo is a death threat. She might mean business.

I got home from hanging out with a friend around 1 in the morning & as soon as I noticed I was, being robbed at gunpoint. I stayed very calm and gave him a few dollars I had hidden inside my wallet aside from the other money I had in there. He walked away and I just stood there not knowing what to do. In my job I was trained to just hand over the money because it is NOT worth losing your life over. Definitely report it to the police and try really hard to think of anything unique about the person, because for all you know this isn't the first time he's done this and it probably won't be the last. You DO NOT need to beat yourself up for this, in fact I'd be proud that I stayed calm!!

I've chosen the guy before but in hindsight I realise that even though it was great for awhile, it never lasted & I always regretted losing the friend for something that didn't last. U need to talk to ur friend about this & let her know how u feel. Tell her u value ur friendship but don't feel comfortable w/ her going for him. If she doesn't care, decide if u can support them or if u'll need space from her for awhile.

I'm 21, live a happy life and love my family and friends, but I never grew out of my other reality. I used to be worried that it was wrong but now I just go with it. I enjoy being a completely different character in a completely different life. It's fun and creative! =D

For some people, they're okay with it at first, but then, they suddenly realize that "Oh, I think this is wrong" or whatever and they back off for a while. Trust me, she's going to come back to you. They won't reveal who you are, But this can be really helpful. I'm sad to say that I no longer have the number, but I'm sure if you look up the number for the suicide hotline in your area or teen hotline they can really help you and your friend. :)

I think the best thing to do is get her to a shrink or a counsler. Maybe at school scedule a "group" (u and her) counsling session and tell her that it's becuase ur worried about her. I hope I can help :)

It may seem like you're betraying your friend's trust, but in reality you might be saving her life. If she really has attempted suicide three times, she will again. @themidnightline I'm going to tell you the same thing as I told BeatlesSeinfeld123. Many suicide hotlines have features where they will call your friend and talk to them. They will not tell your friend that you called. I agree with MyFlyingToaster. A teacher, a parent or an adult you trust can be very helpful. In the past when I've had suicidal friends I;ve spoken to a teacher that I know that they are close to.

@snnysidedown My family does that to me too, and I actually became depressed because of it. Having a really good friend helped me. My best friend is always telling me how beautiful I am, inside and out, and gives me compliments. Just keep in mind that he's an older brother - he's going to do that. My big brother did too. You need to know that he's only saying it because he knows it'll get under your skin, and make sure you have someone to talk to. (:

In most likelihood, she will say no and stop getting lessons from you.... but that's just what you have to accept since you did that to her. Hey Buck! Firstly thank you for all you do -you're amazing! My problem is all my fault but I dont know what to do. I'm at uni & am starting to fall for 1 of my flatmates. I think he might be starting to like me back which is great except i've hooked up with 2 of his friends in the past. One was just a drunken kiss but one was more serious. That was back when I thought he didn't like me. Now i'm thinking i'd like something serious with him but it might be awkward around his friends. What do I do?

Dear buck, I'm 11 years old and I have a friend.... well use to be friend that starts so much drama! I,m really pissed off and my friends are too. So my friends took her diary today and read it in front of her crush! I feel like she needed it but i dont want her to get hurt. Dear Buck, I'm a 16 year old girl, living in a dangerous part of town. I recently moved out due to a serious breakdown in the relationship between my family and myself. I lost my job, that was the only thing providing me with money and food, and essentials and in the next month I'll have no money left. I can't go home, my family have made it clear they don't want me to, but I feel unsafe in this part of town- I've been mugged twice now. Is there any advice you can give me? Thanks!

I'm 20 years old and a college student and I'm worried about my mother. My mother stresses a lot about my safety and I take a bunch of precautions when out and always have a way of her contacting me but ever since she learned how to use the internet she has become crazy. These two d-bag guys in my school have them, and me and my friends "follow" them on Formspring. People ask them anonymous q's about my group of friends. Dear Buck, I met the biggest sweetheart of a guy (after you, of course) in college a couple of weeks ago, and was almost immediately head-over-heels for him, but I found out tonight that he has a girlfriend. My dog was put down recently and I have known her since i was 3 months old, I keep crying myself to sleep and I didn't get to say goodbye properly. My parents told me she was really poorly but didn't tell me that she had liver cancer so they didn't upset me. I don't know what to do :(
