During a golden age of centers, Cowens was unique. His underrated speed and leaping ability made his manic style effective even against guys like Jabbar, Hayes, Lanier, Thurmond and Walton. He and Dennis Rodman were the most intense frontcourt players I ever saw - energetic enough to wear bigger men down, smart enough to intimidate with their insane playing styles,
dave cowens gave everything he had at both ends every night, played hard and was agressive, 6'8" and he played against other taller and more talanted centers and drove them nuts with his hustle.
Man u talking about someone who was tough, DAVE WAS IT. I REALLY CANT THINK OF SOMEONE HIS SIZE THAT PLAY HIS POSITION N WAS AS TOUGH AS HE WAS. WOW. WHAT A WORK ALCHOLIC.
No player ever (even Jordan and Bird) poured his heart and soul into the game more than Mr. Cowens, game in and game out.

Still my personal favorite alltime athlete, I think Cowens was the greatest center in a great decade for centers, the 70s.
