  • Dear Sir, you surely do care, that is plain to see. You are more gracious than I !This man, who claims to be a PASTOR, does not preach sin, rebuke, correct, warn; all part of the job! And who is it that he is telling, "God will make this year victorious for you", but the unsaved. Joel himself does not understand the gospel. The majority of his flock are not saved, or they would not stand for this heresy.

  • @88momart DOn;t get me wrong, I do consider him a heretic and a false teacher. I just don't see him as a (knowing) con-man. He might even be turning to the truth a bit. When Piers Morgan pressed him about homsexuality, he didn't waffle (as is his usual) he kept referring to the authority of scripture! I called his 'church' and told them to just how I felt about him and encouraged him to keep heading toward God's word...they thanked me and were genuinely pleased!

  • You had a good point.

  • amen brother. Joel needs to preach the whole counsel of God.

  • That's right man. The truth hurts!

  • MooooLaaaarchy. Joel Osteen is a salesman. He is selling a product and intends only to gain more wealth in his work. A true evangalist would gladly give away his thoughts on Christ and being a "good" Christian. Jesus never got paid for his work in worldly wealth. He gave more than he ever received in this world.

  • @stevecast65 I agree with you Joel Osteen ia a heretic. He is not teaching Biblical Truth, just like Benny Hinn they are both false teachers. I do not believe they are truly saved because they do not teach Biblical truth, only what people want to hear. I think false teachers like Osteen and Benny Hinn, and other false teachers just false teachings, like the Porsperity Gospel and other false teachings.

  • The fear of HELL is a means of control and brainwashing...The morals of the bible are a great guide to live by..but by no means to be taken literally WE must understand that what we know as "the scripture "is a compilation of writings that were chosen by man.alot was left out!

  • Whether or not Hell is a means of control and brainwashing begs the question. The existence of Hell whether or not its true is based on the Gospels. Assuming that Christ was who he said he was, and if the Gospels accurately record his words, then we evangelical Christians take the doctrine of Hell seriously based on the authority of Christ, not on whether or not its used as a tool of control by some church.

  • Prophets have been called by God to speak for Him and to be His messenger. God speaks to these men who are commanded to reveal to mankind His plan of salvation, His will, His character, and His truth. A prophet testifies of Jesus Christ as the Son of God, that He died for our sins, they preach of repentance, condemnation, judgment, sin, and eternal torment. These are the things that prophets of God do, but that Joel Osteen as a false prophet does not.

  • The spiritual man judges all things...Joel Osteen judges nothing.

  • Pennylaneproductions, I agree with what you said. However, you weren't strong ENOUGH with Joel Osteen. Joel Osteen MUST be called out as a heretic who has abandoned the Gospel unlike his father John Osteen. Joel is in the seeker tradition as Rick Warren.

  • You are correct. I sent my article, "The Toothless Gospel' to his church. I am working on the video. He IS a heretic indeed.

  • I also enjoyed your comments on Chick tracts. Will chat with you again soon.

  • @pennylaneproductions No He is not a heritic read romans 2 don't comdem I know you think you got a right but you don't the bible says they that compare themselfs with pride towards another, they are not wise , it also says watch yourselve lest you fal,l satan is alway looking to kill steal and destoy, but jesus said in John 10: 10 He gives us life more abuntantly

  • @Bluesnaggs I like the sincerity of the video. I believe many of these people so rough on Joel Osteen have not realized the true Grace of God and blood shed.

"It is finished" The curse, disease and sin all put upon Him on the Cross. The Father paid through His Son Christ, the Lamb" He looks upon those who have received this gift as sinless...the very righteousness of God.

  • @pennylaneproductions

"Judges all things" thats as out of context as saying "Judge not..."

  • @pennylaneproductions

That isn't even the whole scripture

  • @Rylucero There are no living prophets to this day like moses or Elijah

False Prophets mormon prophets all of them jehovah witnesses prophets and benny hinn false prophet. Joel Osteen never claims to be prophet of God that i know of.

  • The quotable false Prophet Joel Osteen on Larry King Live, King asks Joel, What if you're Jewish or Muslim, you don't accept Christ at all? Osteen then responds, you know, I'm very careful about saying who would and wouldn't go to heaven. I don't know. Joel Osteen by his very words denies that acceptance of Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior is the only way that salvation is possible for the unbeliever.

  • @Rylucero I agree with you it is as if Osteen doesn't want to offend people of other religions. However Jesus is the only one who can forgive our sins and by his grace gives us unmerited eternal life. Jesus says that people will hate you because of me. Christianity is offensive. Everybody thinks that they are a good person, that is wrong, we are all sinners and need God's forgiveness through Jesus Christ to save us. Go through the Ten Commandments and see if you have kept them, nobody has.

  • Some have it in there heart others have it on there bumper - If it doesn't come from your heart it will come from an institution - thank God you are there and I can follow you rather than fearful guilty people

  • Thank you for your willingness to share the truth in a very gentle and loving way. You are absolutely correct that when we preach the truth it will be offensive. I appreciate that you are capable of confronting another in this manner.

  • Thanks and God bless, friend!

  • wow are you that fooled to think he cares about the people in his congregation? someone is wasting his breath talking to this guy..he knows what hes doing..its all about the cash

  • @fanoflittleman I agree with you it is all about the money, the rich lifestyle. It is about the Prosperity Gospel so that you live an extravagent life on earth here. Complete false teaching. Benny Hinn is the same way another false teacher, only concerend with conning people with false hope that Benny Hinn can cure the people of their diseases. It is a disgrace what these false teachers are doing to damage the reputation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

  • Thank you, Brother, for uploading this timely and edifying video.

    God speed!

  • I appreciate how you were postive and not judgmental in your approach, but like joel should try to be, you were firm in delivering the gospel without watering it down. i hope he does watch this. A+

  • Much appreciated, brother and friend!

  • I think Joel is great. I do see your point about not everyone who is in the audience is not a Christian. I do see Joel as more like a motivational speaker, however, have you sat in on any of his services? I have been a Christian for 24 years and I have found him to be extremely helpful with my walk. I doubt Joel Osteen has the time to look on U-tube. The suggestion that flashy blond gives makes a lot of sense. Why not send him a copy of your video that you posted? He may be open to watching it.

  • I've listened to as many of his 'sermons' as I can stand. Bottom line: If one is not preaching the wrath of God and humility, one is not preaching the gospel. Jesus warned of hell A LOT! Osteen never touches the subject, never calls for repentance or to 'examine oneself'. Likeable though he is, he is a heretic!

  • @pennylaneproductions I agree he is a false teacher. Osteen never teaches about sin, the need to repent of our sins and God's judgement of hell. If there is no hell and no judgement, then what did Jesus come to save us from? All Osteen teaches is how God will bless you in this life and make your life wondedrful.

  • @beauty4ash I thought Pastor's are supposed to teach sound Biblical Theology and not be motivational speakers. I think God calls men to preach the Gospel correctly and truthfully.

  • Are you 12 years old?

  • I was impressed by your video and you made some very salient points. But, speaking as one man of God to another, it would have been better if your comments and advisements had been made to Pastor Osteen in private. By speaking here, you're really preaching to the choir, where you get a lot of "amen"s and "uh huhs" and not a lot of results, amen?

And I disagree that people don't know when they've sinned. From creation, we're hard-wired to know that. Peace be unto you.

  • Joel tickles goats ears, instead of feeding sheep.

  • You are so right about Joel! Mr. niceguy isn't leading anyone to salvation!

  • Jesus never existed.. Thank god for that

  • What a foolish remark! What a foolish user name!

  • Why is that foolish? It is a fact that there is no contemporaneous accounts of Jesus when he supposedly walked the earth. All we really have is the gospels and they came a min 40 years later. And then there are the Christian forgeries of Josephus. Please check out the writings of Dr Price on mythisism.

And thank Zeus this retard god is purely idolatry. What a horrible theology.

...oh yea. Jesus=Satan=Allah. In other words, all made-up characters.

  • YOU=FOOLISH, LOST, SOUL

  • There are no such things as souls. All we have are minds supported by material brains.

My mind tells me that Christianity is just another pagan religion and that magic is impossible

  • One day very soon you and the whole world shall realize just how REAL God is! He is returning and no one will be able to deny Him! Remember I said this when that day arrives. God loves you wheather you love Him or not my friend. God Bless You

  • "He is returning and no one will be able to deny Him! "

Christians have been saying that for 2000 years and deniers have been denying for that long too.

GratefulChristian, have you ever considered whether or not the story is true by analyzing the evidence critically? Have you ever considered the possibility that people just made the whole thing up?

  • Could you please tell me the motivation for a group of terrified weak men who feared for their lives to make up a story that would eventually get themselves killed? All but one of the twelve that belonged to Jesus died for their faith, alone. What happened to them that caused them to have a sudden transformation from cowards to unabashed, courageous preachers? Did all of them have the exact same dream for forty days and then they stopped?

  • Look up the history of Joseph Smith. Surely, he died for his beliefs as well, right?... Well, not directly. There is a lot known of how he died and we know that he wasn't given a chance to live if he recanted his LDS claims.

We also have not one documented case of the disciples being interrogated before being put to death either. Not even the bible supports the idea that any of them were allowed to live if they recanted.

That argument fails without evidence as to how they died.

  • Yet the disciples were interrogated on many occasions throughout their ministry. They were beaten, imprisoned, ridiculed, etc. If they made up the whole story, why go through all that torture and stuff?

As for Joseph Smith, he falls into the category of martyrs that died for what he believed to be true, like ALL modern-day martyrs. The difference is that the twelve disciples died for what they saw and KNEW to be true. you are right; we do not have...

  • evidence beyond all doubt, anymore than I have evidence beyond all doubt that the chair I sit in will hold me. I have to base my belief on past experience and what I DO know. In the same way, I may not have seen Jesus come out of the tomb, but I have the testimony of at least 12 (and up to 500) people that actually saw the Son of God risen from the dead. And that is why I believe. I didn't see him, but Peter, Andrew, Paul, Matthias, etc. did.

  • let's see... Hadrian, Tacitus, the Jewish Talmud, Pliny the Younger, Lucian, all of these non-Christian/anti-Christian scholars and historians (as well as several others that lived at the MOST within 150 years of Jesus' life) all were fooled into thinking he actually existed, Or all of their accounts were forged by Christians that conspired to perpetuate a lie. Or all of them, who hated God and hated Jesus, made up the existence of a person that they didn't want to have existed. I get it now.

  • None of those sources were contemporary enough to establish indisputable historicity. In the casees of Pliny and Tacitus, they only speak of the existence of Christians in the 2nd century. Nobody disputes that Christians existed.

  • Then where did Christianity come from? If Jesus never existed as you say, where then did the idea of Christianity come from? What was the motive for Christians to even come into existence if the whole idea of Jesus' resurrection was a hoax? People made up the story to get martyred? Huh? If Christians existed in the 2nd century they existed in the 1st. Where then did they come from? There were still contemporary sources that could have blown the resurrection out of the water!

  • Why didn't men like Pontius Pilate, Caiaphas, Annas, or anyone else who were around when Jesus lived simply blow the entire resurrection to pieces if it was a lie. Yet not even Jesus' enemies denied the empty tomb!

I do appreciate you being a lot more polite than many, if not most, skeptics, though. In all seriousness. thank you.

  • I don't know how evidence can be gleaned out of somebody not denying something that they my not know or care about enough to dispute. That is just absence of evidence. You can't build anything positive out of that. I could tell you that someone stole a ton of gold out of my garage and offer my empty garage as evidence for that. I could also point out the neighbors and news agencies who have not disputed that I had a ton gold in my garage.

  • I would assume that historians and the governing authorities would care enough to actually try to discern what the truth is. I am not sure they would assume that absence of evidence would be enough; there has to be a positive reason for it too. And that is why the apostles believed; not just because they saw an empty tomb but because they actually SAW Jesus. In order to discredit the disciples one has to come up with a naturalistic reason that has nothing to do with the resurrection.

  • A dream? the wrong tomb? A vision, a conspiracy? None of those reasons are solid enough to warrant discrediting the resurrection. His death and resurrection are the only logical explanation because Christianity is the only faith that is based on a person, not a set of beliefs. Take away Christ, and you don't have a leg to stand on when it comes to being a Christian.

By the way, sorry about taking so long to respond. I'll try not to be so long next time.

  • Ok. There may have been a man named Jesus and was behind the formation of the religion. He probably was a rabbi or a teacher. I shouldn't expect the legend to be born out of nothing.

Some do dispute the existence of jesus based on a mythological origin. There you have to have a positive case for the Jesus worshiped by the early Christians as understood by them as not a man living on earth.

I'm now leaning on the side of positive historicity.

  • Sure. I am well-familiar with the mythological arguments. remember, though, that many myths are heavily embellished with absolutely fantastic descriptions of people and things. The Bible's description of Jesus, however, is anything but fantastic in that sense. It is very plain and straightforward without a lot, if any, fancy descriptions, which is a main reason why the Bible can be considered historically accurate. If the Bible described the resurrection like some of the Gnostic gospels,...

  • then I would have a tendency to take the side of the skeptics. But there are no embellishments, just a rather ordinary account of an extrordinary occurence.

Gotta go for now. Hope to hear from you soon! Take care.

  • Right on, stooge!

  • to the guy who posted this video-

i don't outright deny jesus. he may have existed despite the lack of evidence.

as far as the extraordinary claims of a riot on passover, choosing between 2 prisoners, pilate allowing the people to choose, resurrection- these claims need to have extraordinary evidence.

to date: even cursory evidence has not been provided.

    laters!!!!

  • @davefromomaha Hey dude what authority do you speak on stupidity if you did your research right instead of picking your ass you know that Jesus has been proven there was man named Jeshua in hebrew so dont say there is no Jesus thanks your idiot too please note this and get a life one that counts.

  • Joels got a great message. He is being watch by millions. You are on this youtube hillbilly video....let's see who should I listen to??

  • Listen to the truth...and Osteen isn't teaching it.

  • I think that comment toward you is proving your point. It's not like you sounded like a stereotypical "fundie" either.

  • No, though I kind of am one. Thanks!

  • You're welcome. Well, it's not like you're in these videos wearing a tie, etc. all dressed up like you'd be going to a wedding or something formal, waving your Bible around, shouting, getting mad over things most people would probably think of as trival, etc. In other words, you seem down to earth. Ok, if you kind of are one, do you only use the KJV?

  • Nope. The KJV-only arguments are bogus. Check out John Ankerberg's website for a great debate on that. My all-time favorite version is the New King James.

  • Ok, thanks about the John A. info. Why do you personally think that the arguements are bogus?

  • @sobakatom Joel Osteen's message is false. It is not true Biblical doctrine, He is a false teacher that just speaks to what people want to thear, so he can make lot's of money!!!! Millions of people are being misled by him. They are not being save by Osteen's words.

  • Hmm it really made me think, see I love Joel I like his help, and its nice to see how even the best teachers have faults and new help. I wish he whould watch, thank you, keep up your work, I'm too weak to preach the word of God so do it for me too.

  • I'll try, friend. Thank you very much.

  • you're jelious of joel, don't you wish you could make millions?religious people are really boring bla bla bla bla bla bla

  • Sure, I'd like to make money. There's nothing wrong with that. However, I wouldn't pervert the word of God or suppress the truth as Osteen is doing. Not for any amount.

  • Religious people had a problem with Jesus.

  • this guy dont know what hes talking about

  • Correct me where I'm wrong then.

  • for one you just assume that jesus is the only way to heaven. what if you are wrong and Zeus is the one true god??

  • How do we define doing good? All kinds of false teachers do 'good' in this life but lead people to perdition. The gospel is the only good he should be doing if he's going to call his arena a church.

  • why do we have to judge people, he is doing good, let him be THANKS JOEL!!!!

  • Really? That's the liberal's favorite verse. The Bible says you will be judged by the same standard, not to forbid judging at all. We are supposed to judge.

1co 2:15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.

Joh 7:24 "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment."

2ti 4:2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

    Sorry, try again.

  • Judge not.

  • Sorry, didn't mean to sound snotty. However, my point stands.

  • osteen's understanding of the bible is very weak. he is a dangerous man. others like him (doller, white, hinn, etc.)are very pleasing to satan. thank-you pennylane.

  • another guy just using "Joel Osteen's" name to bring himself popularity.. LOL..

1500 views almost.. wow.. looks like you're on your way to stardom.. now you can stop hating on Joel.. :)

Before you judge someone else, look at the faults found in YOURSELF bro. :)

  • Hating on Joel, I dont think so. These people are like the seed by the thorns.

  • yet they draw in more people unto God than many of these "righteous" churches out there.. huh? Coincidence?

If they're doing such a bad job... you (and your church) should step out of your 4 walls where you meet with your social religious club members and reach out to the world. :)

  • Have you read the parable (luke 8), size doesnt matter to God. When did God favor the big thing? was it when he chose the jews, the smallest of nations, or when he told Gideon to cut his forces down to 300 to face the larger Midianites.

  • Or when he chose David the youngest of his brothers to be king. Or when chose a Hebrew with a speech impediment to free his people from Egypt. Was Jesus the lord of glory born in a palace, no he was born amongst the animals in a lowly place. Jesus constantly spoke of being exalting the valleys and cast down the mountains.

  • Paul wrote in 1 Corinth 1:27-28:

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence.

Its was never about size, but about the glory of God.

  • alright JPRobert... you win.. happy? I know this: The Bible should be no theme of discussion... that's why I wont get into it with you verse by verse.. All I know is, people like Joel (whom I personally know) has a sincere heart to reach out and draw people unto Jesus, and neither you, or anybody else is sufficiently "just" to become Judge over others...

  • I do believe he has a sincere heart also. Buuutt... My question is, can he afford to assume his whole congregation is saved? No pastor can, especially not one with a huge flock and a bible-starvation diet.

  • I wonder if he is really a Christian; not because he's not sincere, but because he seems to be about "Lordship salvation." If I remember correctly, at the end of his shows, he talks about making Jesus the Lord of their (viewers) life instead of believing on Jesus. I think there's a big difference. What do you think of his status as saved or unsaved? It's too bad that there's not more real believers with his type personality and attitude.

  • ...and I don't mean they have to be "Mr. Positivity" all the time about everything and sugar-coat everything. He just seems like a really nice guy. Of course at the same time televanglists can do that to trick people out of a lot of money and believing in a magical false reality known as the "prosperity gospel." Check out the book American Fascists if you haven't already.

  • If he's doing a bad deed, he'll be accountable for it. I disagree with some things he says and does as well, but Im nobody to pass judgement... much less, say that he's "dangerous" or preaching the "wrong word".

  • I agree with "PBennet13". He wrote below :

"In Romans 12 and 1Cor 12, Paul talks about the many members of the body. Perhaps Joel's role in the body is that of the encourager (Romans 12:8). Paul, Peter, James, and John have very different styles and messages. It's all for us, but people can be lazy."

  • Man i'm not try to bash you with bible verses, I apologize if thats what you think i was trying to do. While the apostles styles were different the message was the same,

  • I just have a bad feeling about joel. Compare Paul washer, John Macauthor, and joel together, you'll see. I dont think joel is evil but misguided. He has a zeal to teach but not according to knowledge. God bless and keep you man. And again I apologize.

  • I'm more interested in his Bible and teaching ministry (if he offers them) than his TV sermons. His sermons could be the bait, and his classes could be where people are really equipped.

In Romans 12 and 1Cor 12, Paul talks about the many members of the body. Perhaps Joel's role in the body is that of the encourager (Romans 12:8). Paul, Peter, James, and John have very different styles and messages. It's all for us, but people can be lazy.

  • If you don't believe in Satan or Hell then you cannot believe on the the Bible, or what is written inside it...therefore you cannot believe in the Jesus of the Bible...thus you HAVE created your own god.

  • If wrath and God don't go together, you must have invented a god that is not the one in the Bible.

  • Wrath and God just don't go together in my mind. I know, I know-here come the words: Apostate, backslidden, heathen, heretic, etc. Anyway, love God and neighbor.

  • obviously you don't know the God of the bible.

read Revelation. On the last days He will have eyes of fire and execute vengeance.

  • Well said.

  • Will God condemn us if our faith is in Jesus but we don't believe in Satan or Hell? What if we don't know all the secrets of the Bible when we die?

I believe what God WILL condemn us on is the opportunity we're given to love God and our neighbors and what we do with that opportunity.

  • WHO YOU???

  • I love holier than thou people who think they can offer advice to the most successful preacher in America's history...not!!...

  • Well, the most succesful preacher ever, JESUS, ended up in a cross.

If you measure succes by how many people follow the preacher, or how much money they make, well, I think you are in the wrong camp my friend. Jesus is then a failure.

But if you measure succes by how faithful you are the message of Jesus, then, we are on biblical ground.

    Just a though.

  • maverick...it is called rebuke, and it IS a biblical principle. Jesus rebuked the pharisees (joel osteens/preachers of His day) and told them they ultimately had no place in His kingdom...hmmm, must mean they were false teachers.

  • i am honored and blessed to see you take the time to make a video for Joel Osteen regardless of him seeing it or not, you presented the scripture with love and compassion, Joel has a great heart and draws many people....if we join in prayer that God places a conviction on his heart to teach God's Word entirely then we will see one of the biggest revivals for Christ in our generation of the U.S.

  • What a blessing your response was. God bless you. You truly understand what I was attempting to do.

  • everybodysfav has never taken a history class at the high school or collegiate level, or been to an archaelogical dig site in the middle east. This is the type of peron that still believes in the easter bunny, santa, ufo's, and elvis still living...ha ha ha, what an idiot.

  • I think writings from eye witnesses need to be considered more carefully.

  • Joel preaches the whimpy, hand ringing, your ok I am ok, jesus of american culture. This is what the Bible tells us will happen, so it is not a surprise...2 Thess. 2:11-13, says that it is GOD who will send these men and their message as a strong delusion (fraud) so that people would follow a lie and be damned...read it yourself. Whether or not Joel repents or not is not the issue. Joel is the tool of God either way, leading people away or to the truth.

  • It is the "goodnes" (usefullness in the greek)that leads to repentance, it is not up to any person to repent. Joel will not repent unless God breaks him, and causes him to do so. As far as looking to Joel, the Bible tells us why...2 Timothy 4:3-7...people love to hear mushy, happy teachings that make them feel good...they do not want the things of God. In 2 Corinthians 11:4 we are told that there is more than 1 Jesus being preached, Joel preaches another jesus NOT the Lord Jesus!

  • It was good the intention, but he won't change, he knows his messages work and attract people, he knows most people don't want to get into doctrine, repentance, sin, etc. He knows that if he change his style will be the end . Come on! he is runing a bussiness tha gives him profit and fame? Do you think he cares about what people like you say about him?. Be realistic

  • At least it's good you know Joel Osteen is a wonderful pastor. But I do understand what you mean by people not realizing their corrupted sins.

  • Amen brother! Would that Joel could hear this and take it to heart. Great job.

  • Joel Osteens messages reach millions of people planting the seed of how Christian live can be lived.

Who are you to Judge him?

You as a Pastor should know better than to try to deface the value of anothers image by posting a you tube about the Osteen ministry.

He might not get as far into the messages as you would hope, but what he is doing works and has brought millions to follow the principals of the bible.

  • But the principles of the Bible do not save anyone. Faith in Christ and repentance saves people. It is not the teaching of Christ that saves, but the PERSON of Christ.
