remove the goldfish and the cichlids.

    keep the silver dollars.

  • --' this is not community tank.. this category more into messy.. why u have to put the oranda goldfish with such fin nipper fish e.g silver dollar etc it is like a chess player get involve in american football etc.. out of theme --'

  • ha ha ha why is there a redcap orada in there?? they are dirty coldwater fishes, homie...

  • lovin the tank!! good job w/ the setup.. where did you get your tank background?

  • that one with the tiger stripe tail i see one of those in a shop i was gonna get it but it was quite dear nice fish btw

  • @Sweeda88

Just checked out some of your vids. I'm guessing that my aquarium is probably not as over-stocked as your refrigerator.

  • That looks over-stocked...no offense...

  • @12512cool

    none taken

  • Flag tail and the one with the prominent thick black stripe on the middle of the body look nice, it reminds me of the heckel discus fish.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • @DiscusKev

    thank you

  • Its better to have more of one species rather than cluster of species in one confined tank. My opinion

  • Nothing rare, nothing expensive.... And that many animals in 85g/325L is animal cruelty!!

  • @steffenjensen1987

Yeah, those black bars.....common fish. I think I'll run down to Petco and buy a few more.

  • @snotbog1 what is te one with the striped tale

  • @uberninja56

    flagtail

  • rare?

  • whats so rare?

  • @Carmador

    see comments below

  • wow thatz ........quite the collection u hav there.

  • that things way overcrouded

  • @cmanclan101

    "Crowd"

  • The only thing I would recommend is the placement of a few good plants in there. It minimizes stress in fish, as well as improves your water clarity and keeps your ammonia and nitrite levels to a minimal if using live plants. Overall I love this tank, also props for housing a killifish, many more in the hobby need to do so as well. You and your aquatic friends take care.

  • Despite all the criticism I know you're getting for the overcrowding, I rather like the assortment you have here. As you said with the varying sizes and species. Honestly as long as you Have good water turnover and do frequent water changes, as well as a large bacterial bed preseeded( Preferably Fishless Cycling). You should have no problem keeping this number of fish.

  • Poor fish...

  • whats the fish called with the striped tail? its looks awesome

  • flagtail (see side)

  • i finally got flagtail myself yay

  • Cool,,,,,,,,,,

  • that look like a flower horn lol

  • both cichlids but mine's an eartheater

  • My dads rarer, I've never even seen him.. I tried to get David Attenborough on the case, but he said if the British goverment couldn't find him to pay for me then his team of wildlife experts wouldn't stand a chance.

  • Wildlife experts huh. Maybe you're looking in the wrong places. Try Las Vegas. You know, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

  • My dads rarer than your dad

  • I don't know, my dad's pretty rare. He died 13 years ago.

  • sorry to here that.

  • lol the only fish i think is kinda rare is your flagtail prochilodus

  • lolouder

The black-bar myleus, silver distichodus and others are more "rare". I do not even consider the flagtail to be rare.

  • Well I dont know what you mean when you say "rare," but those fish are probably the most common aquaria that I know. Angels and goldfish, gouramis and barbs, never heard of them (OR SEEN THEM OMG). J/k lol

but seriously goldfish shouldnt be in a tropical aquarium... they are coldwater fish.

  • Barbs and angelfish, no duh

O.K. smart-ass, There some 40,000 videos of tropical fish on youtube. Why don't you search "black-bar myleus" or perhaps "silver distichodus". Out of so many videos, there should be hundreds I bet. When you find those, I'll have you check so others I have. Good luck.

  • I was mocking the people who said they arent rare (I said j/k)..Some arent rare but true I havent seen many myleus in common aquariums. I have seen alot, being that i work with pets, but they arent that rare--less common, not rare, to each his own..calm down

  • Yes, Myleus can be found but usually as in the Red Hook variety. Mine are not Red Hooks. The same can be said about distichodus species but you rarely see the silver ones.

By rare, I meant rarely seen. Any more rare than that would put them on the endangered list and you know what that means.

You're right about the goldfish. I took them out.

  • wow..awesome..i haven't got a clue where u r getting these fishes from...i wish i have some of them too...anyways nice pal

  • thanks

  • I love your response to the people who say your fish selection is not rare. I too would like to know what their definition of rare is, illegal fish? You most certainly do have some rare fish in there. And as for "farquegfy", some people are just too ignorant to realize how ignorant they are.

  • Thanks again.

  • i really like this tank! i love the randomness of the fish choice, and actually i'm sad you took the goldfish out. yes theyre coldwater but domesticated fish like goldfish are very adaptable, and your's seemed to be very healthy. anyways, amidst the crowd of haters i would actually like to commend you. good job!

  • Thank you for that. Yeah, it's amazing how many "experts" we have on youtube.

The goldfish were getting beat up too much. Their long waving and slow moving fins are just too much of a temptation for other fish to nibble at. They're much happier now and their fins have grown out beutifully.

Most all the fish are doing well. I even still have the tiny neons, bumblebees and a few of the ghost shrimp left.

    thanks again

  • rare. FUCKEN TIME WASTER.

  • Not sure why I'm responding to someone that not only leaves the "F" word on my blog, but can't even spell it. (lame) See my comment to bigstevemesh below for this now boring "rare" discussion. If you want "more rare" fish, you might check the government's endangered species list. (fish illegal to own, by the way.)

Have a nice day, tough guy. For someone who seems to be so concerned about wasting time, you sure spend a lot of it watching youtube videos. (almost 1000 in 3 weeks?)

  • Say Snotbog, orandas like warm water better, best not to mix though, pathogens do mix well with other tropical fish...but you already knew that. Looks great. Happy.

  • thanks for your comment, appreciate it

  • you have some nice fish there but i dont know why you have goldfish in there?oakietrice6 bigstevemesh you guys are downers

  • You're right. Took the goldfish out and are now in a coldwater tank. thanks for the comment.......

  • yeh stil no rare fish i dnt even no y u put rare

  • See comment below for my def. of "rare". There's a name for fish more "rare" than that. It's called endangered and those are illegal.

  • no rare fish at all

  • Depends on your definition of rare. How many youtube videos can you find of Black Bar Myleus, huh? How about silver distichodus? How about mola silver dollars? These are rare only in that they are rarely imported.

  • wow nice comm. tank...lots of unlkly fish possiblities...how do the gobys react with the rest?

  • Thanks, the gobys are cool. They kinda have their own little groove in the tank. Nobody seems to bother them.

  • WOW!!! i'm subscibing!

  • thanks

These guys eat well. A huge variety of flakes pellets and freeze dried foods. No live. occasionally frozen.

Flagtail's about 9 inches now. Cool fish. Eats everything.

  • heyy nice flagtail !!! =]what do you feed them on??

    thx
