@Savagedorkboy If on Windows 7, open Notepad first like this: right click/run as admin. Once you've done that, find the hosts file (you may have to change the file types it shows from .txts only to "all files"). Do as he says. And ctrl+s.

I HAVE WORKING METHOD 100%!!!! LIKE SO EVERYONE CAN SEE

1. Go on start and search for notepad, right click it and run it as Administrator

2. go on computer then C drive then windows/system32/drivers/etc

3. double click the host file and open with notepad

4. DELETE everything from the bottom until you see "client host" as the last two words on your last line ( probably just gonna be the last line)

5. paste this as your last line: # 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com

6. Reopen itunes and restore!!:)

if u was trying to downgrade and u got a error 3194 all u have to do is go back into your host fill and take the 74. thing they tell you to put in the out save the file back to normal then redstore you ipod again but youll have to run through the jailbreak again

1. get ur shsh via tinyUmberella go online & search for the appropriate .ipsw file when u download the file save it to ur documents. go to ur computer C drive > windows> System32 > drivers > etc on PC. on mac go straight to etc. u will c a file named hosts click on it and open it with notepad all the way at the bottom add this and save it 74.208.105.171 gs(.)apple(.)com without the parenthesis. put ur device in DFU mode so itunes will let u restore. open itunes, while pressing shift press restor

@XMashomet9o9 You need to download TinuUmberella it searches for shsh and saves it for you so u can downgrade. make sure ur out of dfu or recovery mode when u do this so ur iphone can be connected and it can track out the shsh.

@rajuurajzz try putting both of the ip addresses in the host file and then restart your pc. Then run iTines and run your iphone in the DFU mode and click the restore button in iTunes while holding shift and sellect the 4.3.3... worked for me.
