@TheRadioSpirit they started making you go to the care center after all wrecks because Ricky Rudd used to race after crazy injuries. After the Busch Clash wreck Ricky race with his eyes taped open because they were so swollen
@GTfangotech For some reason that made me laugh. I can just imagine drivers saying "Damn that Rudd" during the ride to the care center after a routine crunch up. Haha.
dallas vs new orleans that matchup came on nfl network last saturday cowboys beat undefeated saints 24-17 go cowboys they lost that day in 99 31-24 im talking bout that cause its in bottomline
what's great is you are full of shit, last time i checked NFL didn't play in June, I dont understand why the bottomline is talking about NFL football and College Bowl Games, it is blowing my mind. But this race was definetly run June 27, 1999
@boyisgood2085 Its obviously a replay of the race. ESPN2 didn't show live NASCAR races, and at the end of each year, they would replay some. Hence the bowl game announcements.
Yeah, but you never do know what happened to yourself when you are in a crash like that. Initially, the adrenaline is running in you, and you might not know you broke an arm or did something bad, not until well after everything. Would like for my driver take that ride to make sure everything is ok before anything else.
it isn't uncommon to flip at a track like that, you'll notice that the hills are butted right up to the track. Most tracks that run F-1 or open wheeled cars have very large flat sand pits around the outside of high speed turns.
Ken Schrader is the father of the anti-climax. Everytime you think he is going to go after someone he just runs across the track or when you think he's throwing something at someone he puts it down or spikes it on the ground
thats because he is not dumb and knows what will happen if he loses his temper, fines and penalties and such, and he doesnt want that. Is it such a bad thing that a driver can control his temper?
yeah me too, hes been my favourite driver for a while now, well since he started driving the M&M's car, i get some flack for it, but its cool, i can take it but i can also dish it out just as well, lol
Bob Jenkins sounded very concerned, almost think he was having a flash back to J.D.'s fatal crash at the glen. Both cars were upside down in the same fashion.
It was one of the easiest (if not the easiest) track to flip at in the past since you could hit tires or the ground just about anywhere from turn 1 all the way back to the pit entrance. Many of those hills have since been graded out though.
I count 5 flips for Winston/Nextel Cup cars and one for a Craftsman Truck at Infineon since 1989. One in the '89 race for Mark Martin, the 2 in this race in 1999, one in the 1994 race for John Krebs (a Winston West driver) and one in practice for the 1994 race for Rich Woodland, Jr. that I only discovered last week.
I think there are a couple more. Michael Waltrip flipped in qualifying there in '89, I think, and I know for sure that Ward Burton flipped in qualifying in 2000, because I have seen a video of it.
It's actually 8 for the Cup Series. In addition to the ones previously mentioned, Michael Waltrip and Jimmy Means rolled in practice in 1989 ('89 had 6 rollover crashes that year alone, total, 3 at Sears Point), and Derrike Cope apparently rolled in practice in 1990. And, there's the rollover by Jeff Jefferson in the Camping World West Series last year. We're not even counting Dale Jarrett's lazy roll onto his side in 1995.
Road courses, apart from the plate tracks, are the easiest places for cars to flip, as they have so many situations (tire walls, elevation changes, grooved walls) that can launch a car.
I like how the safety guy pulls him out by his foot lmao

What month was this? Because the ESPN ticker at the bottom has Rose Bowl matchups already and usually Sonoma is in the summertime.

Did they change this corner after this race? It would make sense since they had two cars flip in the same turn during one race.

I'm so glad we don't have an oval track in N. Californina.
Nascar doesn't realize how much more of a fanbase they could get if they only raced road courses.

yer but then it would be boring, plus we wouldnt get the hell fast speeds liek at talladega, daytona and that which is whta i love, but your right

same with the fall Tally race in 2005 with Waltrip and Riggs! As rare as you see flips in NASCAR its extremely rare to have 2 in the same race!
