You wouldn't happen to have this documentary in its entirety, would you? Or any place where I could find it? They aired this on Mexican TV a couple of weeks ago and I thought it was fascinating and really wanted to see the rest. Sadly, the network airs this in like a six month basis or something.
Does anyone else feel like 20th Century takes inspiration from Watchmen? Like, they're both a lot about childhood nostalgic dreaming taking a negative reality during adulthood, and certain members of the group returning in unusual ways.... (talking about the villains).
For me it's more like a Stephen King novel, "It". A group of kids (with a leader) who have a secret clubhouse and only one female member (who is tomboyish) being bullied by bigger kids and meet up again when they are adults to defeat an evil force.
I totally agree, although the bit with the giant robot in Tokyo reminded me a lot of the brain monster in "Watchmen." The plot also has bits of King's "The Stand" in it, too, don't you think?
Très bonne video. J'ai apprécier que tu la mettes sur youtub. D'ailleur, j'ai fait une version sous-titrée en anglais - histoire de la rendre accessible a plus de monde. J'espere que tu n'y vois pas de mal ^^
he's seven but still has his adult mind. I can't remember what it's called from when I saw this documentary on tv. And I'd really like to read it. :(. So if anyone's seen it and knows the name I'd be really grateful if you tell me :)
If anyone has seen the whole documentary i'd like to ask a question. After this interview it feutures another writer who is known in europe but quite unknown in japan. And they talk about a manga he's written that's about a man who is sent back to when
Yay! Thank you so much! I've been dying to hear a good interview by Urasawa-sensei! I'm also very pleased with the video quality and the translation! So again, thank you!
this is the first video interview of him I've seen, but it's mostly about him telling what we already know about manga/manga-making in general and not much about himself and his works. his best interviews so far are found at comipress*com -- must be the best English manga newsblog around.
I really wanna hear more about his "nervous attitude towards the fans' reaction at the abrupt ending of 20th Century Boys," but that's being a bitch after seeing him with his guitar and all /: thanks Yahari!

Manga fans, check out onemangaDOTcom for free manga. Cool site. But reading on your screen, kinda annoying.

Far and away the greatest manga writer out right now. The ending of Monster was epic.

@homgprdgn I love how the story's loose ends get tied up, but the very final moment of the manga left a bad taste in my mouth.

How do they draw like 1300 pages in a year? I know that this is from over time in a year, but that's really a lot.
