all you people need to realize that these four chords are not actually the same for each song, only the chord progression is the same for all these songs. It is probably the most overused chord progression ever. Listen to any Blink 182 song, you are most likely going to find one of these.\

Of the hundreds of thousands (millions?) of songs written, I'm sure you could find at *least* 40 tunes for any of the dozen or so most popular chord progressions. And as a challenge.. can anyone name a pop tune nowadays that *doesn't* have a typical chord progression?

There's a reason 4 chord songs are used so much. It's a set of chords people are used to (1-5-6-4). They sound good, the audience loves them, they sell well. Everyone here saying "the people who made these songs are idiots" (paraphrasing!) don't realize that people use these four chords 1. to make a catchy song, and 2. to sell more albums. It works well for them. You're all the idiots for complaining about it.
