He did the right thing following the refueling cable to dip....if he cut that off he could have damaged his propellers causing him to crash and also the C-130 would have automatically retracted the cable which would have sent the damaged cable back near a fuel pod with possibility of sparks which could cause an explosion. The CH-53 pilot did the right thing.
