Most gay people don't want marriage, we want equal rights. Marriage is no longer a christian-only ideal; it has become more or less a legal ceremony. Marriage dictates money, and property, along with more personal things like custody of children. Imagine not being able to see your kids any more, because of who you were in love with? Shouldn't it be enough to see your sons and daughters be happy in companionship? It would be unfair for gay couples to never be able to truly say "I'm married." Think about it, civil unions are in place to treat gays as second-class citizens, when the only thing different about them is that they happen to love someone of the same gender. If you have any sense of fairness, equality, or morality, you'll vote "No" on Prop 8. Marriage is a commitment of love. That will never change.

I doubt most feel comfortable teaching their chilren about gay sex. Why is that? There is a good reason why American society is built around the traditional heterosexual home. As a societal stabilizer, it deserves a special place in our national life. Lets say a particular group could only obtain Driving Certificates. And these certificates gave the same rights as a licence. EXCEPT you are not permited to drive across state lines. But you still had to take the same tests and pay the same fees. Is that the same thing?

Most gay people don't want marriage, we want equal rights. Marriage is no longer a christian-only ideal; it has become more or less a legal ceremony. Marriage dictates money, and property, along with more personal things like custody of children. Imagine not being able to see your kids any more, because of who you were in love with? Imagine not being able to visit your dying partner of 25 years in the hospital, because your relationship wasn't legally recognised? This is what we're fighting for.

Californians Against Hate released figures Tuesday showing that $17.67 million was contributed by 59,000 Mormon families since August to groups like Yes on 8. Contributions in support of Prop. 8 total $22.88 million. Additionally, the group reports that Mormons have contributed $6.9 million to pass a a similar law, Proposition 102, in Arizona.
Mormons are being "programmed" to make yes on 8 videos like ROBOTS..I am a ROBOT! A MORMON ROBOT!! I WAS TOLD BY MY CHURCH TO TEACH HATE!

New reports show that nearly sixty thousand LDS Church members have contributed some twenty million dollars to support Proposition 8, representing nearly 80 percent of all reported pro-Prop. 8 money. i'm jewish i live in israel and one of the the ten commitments
is- "Observe the Sabbath" the meaning of that: Six days you shall labor and do all your work. The seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord you shall not do any work include driving, rental car and traffic safety sections but i do.

The arguements that Prop 8 has nothing to do with children is nuts. When MA said gays could get married...they didn't say and so now go out and bring down any adoption agency that doesn't support gays, teach first graders about homosexual marriage and use the courts to make sure you don't have to notify parents. They didn't say any of that and yet it happened. The same such things and more will certainly happen here. Let's be smart and learn from MA mistakes. VOTE YES on 8.

fyi redvas, for as long as i have known my cousin, which i happen to know very well, nothing that i know of triggered his decision to become gay. for as long as i remember, he was was always different from the rest of the boys and his parents did treat him the same way they treated his younger brother, but his younger brother is straight. explain what triggered his decision then. your research is crap....buddy =P

LOL. being gay is a choice? so after abandonment and other such tragedies, gays still choose to be constantly discriminated against and abandoned furthermore? sounds a little redundant, if you ask me. my cousin grew up with a very loving family and has only had one girlfriend of 4 months (whom of which he wasn't too interested in) before his first boyfriend. it doesn't sound like much trauma there, and on top of that, he grew up in a very conservative area. do your research, pal ;]
