The first time I watched this film was after i read the book. I found myself not really following the plot because i new it but was more like "Wow just like the Book!" I really like the film, but I think its because I know the book. When I talked to my mate who hadnt read the book he thought the ending was modern times. Yeah I know.....

I'm not a fan of hero-based movies and stories, but I thoroughly enjoyed Watchmen (watched it at the London IMAX, woo!)

The characters had depth, the sound track is awesome and the story is going places.

I was however a little upset by yet another complete departure of the realm of reality. I'm willing to suspend my disbelief and accept the existence of Dr. Manhattan, but why do we need so many unimportant details that clearly conflict with physics as we know it?

Nobody will ever make a movie adaptation of watchmen as well as this, mark by words... a great deal of effort and detail was paid to this movie, zack snyder is amazing and was the perfect director for this.

He is the comic adaption master.

The 'jock strap' was only worn for flashback scenes. Check the continuity of the films narrative. With the passing of time Jon lost more and more of his humanity. By 1985 he was of an almost 'godlike' mindset so his perseption on nudity would not be the same as the other characters. And if any people around him felt uncomfortable, he would not have cared, the film even said that he had tired of human opinions and feeling. Hence why he left for Mars, to avoid everyone and their personalities.

i saw it, never read the comics or anything, and i understood everything, i loved the movie... oh and dr.manhattens wang was like as tall as me on IMAX, not attacking the fact that its in the movie, i say its got balls to do that, cuz male parts is like taboo in hollywood, while female parts can be shown everywhere.

I feel the comic was more enjoyable, and definately easier to follow.

I thought that too. The reason Dr. Manhattan walked around naked was to separate him from the humans.

Of course the Pirate substory had to go.

It is paradoxically shocking how much they left out, but how true they stayed to the source material. I saw the movie first, and had no idea WTF was going on.

I thought the fire scene was cooler, but not a better showing of transormation.

I really enjoyed this movie. I also am tired of hearing about Manhattan's junk. Just because its their doesn't mean you have to look at it, stop complaining about the least important problem! So many people hat this movie and I don't know why. Fanboys hate because it doesn't mirror the book, non fans hate it because they dont understand it. I have to admit if I hadnt read the book, it would have been pretty hard for to understand too. Long Live Good Movies!

I totally agree with you! His penis only surprised me once. I didn't even NOTICE it most of the time because (me, never having read the novel) I was ABSORBED by the film-work, story, and characters. A blue penis has nothing to do with the things I care about in the movie so it was not distracting.

I was a little upset the Rorscachs doctor was cut out and the guys from the cornor but it had to be cut because it would have slowed the film down, even though it would have added character and maybe making it better.

But I like I said, Watchmen heroes are not heroes, they are humans. The Comidian is a jerk, Rorschachs a killer, Manhattan's a god, and Ozymandias is a person who just wants to do good.

These questions they ask are deep and we are left to wonder what is good and what is bad.

To me, this is the best superhero movie. I saw the midnight showing. I loved the comic and this movie was great and how it is not black or white like the Dark Knight were Batman is clearly the good guys and gets the bad guy.

In Watchmen, none of the heroes are truly good or bad, they are grey and are actually human. Not pefect and have problems. It visauls were amazing, the characters were well done, and all in all not only a good adaptation but a great superhero film. I should make more money.

Sure, it's all right for people to express that issue, but is it really that important to spread that? This whole Watchmen film got me to wonder who would be making more of a profit... The film crew or the actual Graphic Novel. If I didn't see the preview for watchmen I would not have investigated it or even read it. Now that me and my friends went to see it, I told them how thick with substance the Graphic Novel was and the stuff they missed out.
