You would like to read the works of Yogananda, if you haven't.
A good start is "Diary of a Yogi." Its one of my all time favorites. Now I'm on Second Coming, Volume 2. Volume 1 was fantastic.

so you could meet a "younger" version of your soul even if it was incarnated in the future.

@rubbe yes, you can, so long as you can see "you." You may not change the future of you, but you can heal, send love, ect.
Learning that love can be sent foreward and back,to heal the soul and the incarnation. Kinda like a love-gram. :)
