Experiment using video transitions. Try using effects, like double speed and slow mo. And also try using different/unusual camera angles, perhaps from both sides.
With music, you will never please everyone. It makes a boring movie into something pretty cool. So try and be original and a little different with your music choice.
But basicly enjoy what you do, have fun and be creative.
