@xTRAPJAWx Perhaps you missed the part where it's explained that in some cases the "owner" (person who holds the loan w/ bank) is not evicted, but the tenants (renters) who happen to be renting from the "owner" are the ones being served eviction notices because they are occupying the house. The tenants may have been up to date on their rent with the "owner" but at no fault of their own the "owner" hadn't kept up to date with loan payments on the house, therefore the banks seize the house.

Smith wants to make money off the property and not live in it, so he rents that house to the Jones family who sign a 1yr lease with Smith. The Jones family has no relations or dealings with the Bank. The Jones pay their rent on time every month to Smith. Smith does not pay the bank. The bank forecloses and evicts the Jones family. The Jones family had a lease and paid rent on time.
