  • I cant find the further parts, but this is great. Andsnes rules this work though, not saying that Horowitz was great - he is one of my favourites

  • I´VE HEARD THIS PIECE SINCE CHILHOOD, I DIDN´T KNOW THERE WAS AN

ORCHESTRAL VERSION. IN HOROWITZ HANDS, THE PIANO IS AN ORCHESTRA !!!

  • Thank you!

  • This is nothing compared to Maria Yudina.

  • @PorroFirst ahh.....................no

  • @PorroFirst Bite your tongue.

  • @zenos700 XD

  • previous comment applied to "The Ancient Castle"

  • Everyone, including Horowitz, plays this piece at a plodding, almost funereal tempo, dutifully following Moussorsky's "Andante" marking, but I think it sounds much, much better and conveys the impression of fast-moving clouds casting ever-changing shadows over moonlit ruins if it is played about twice as fast, albeit still very light, very soft, and very spooky. The "walking" of the andante occurs with just one step per measure, not two, at that faster pace.

  • @edwardrkrusejr Richter and Kissen play it more quickly, I realy like Richter''s myself

  • never have i heard this played any better. RIP

  • Bravooooo!!!!

  • Is this the 1951 or 1947 performance?

  • I have heard this played on guitar, but you can definately tell from this it was written for piano
