  • hey froggpond, @ 6:50 i had an eargasm just to let you know. you're amazingly good at covering Boston's hits :) im an intermediate drummer, i only know the beats and fills and i can improve on some songs but i dont know drum terms from a bale of hay lol. so, what (im just gonna say) snare are you using? i know it sounds stupid.. but idc

  • I'm a plumber/ amateur guitarist. I've never seen such talented drumming before. If I had enough money, I'd ask you to play something while I eat my breakfast!! :)

  • I'm jealous of those cymbals

  • @Ludwigzildjian1 maybe because you're stuck with zildjians?! lol idk but i wouldn't get any zildjian cymbal even a new one for free.. just sayin i aint trollin or anyting

  • Left handed playing a right handed set. Interesting.

  • So wait what kind of drum set is it?

  • A nostalgic trip back for me too, froggpond1. Memories of my sister playing the new LP over and over in her room in the summer with this song blasting away and me playing air drums. Thanks for putting a smile on my face. Needed one.

  • VERY COOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love how you play the opening. All the rolls and everything are so fantastic. Wonderful job.

  • @MrDaviation Thank you very much MrDaviation

Tama Starclassic Birch.........................You can get good sound from alot of different drums,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I have birch because I have a low ceiling.8ft in my studio...........Maple is my preference but it's just too loud in my little slice of heaven

  • He man,

    great performance and great sound!

But what's the thing with the frosted snarehead?

    Never heard of that..

  • @Mauriesje78 Thanks man. On aprevious tune the rim and head separated. Fresh heads are always waaaay nice to play on.

  • @Mauriesje78 He means textured, very common in snare heads.

  • Man, the tone and resonance of your snare is awesome. Great post!

  • @olentangy74 Thanks man,,,,,,new drum heads ROCK

  • Man, the tone and resonance of your snare is awesome. Great post!

  • I can't even play tambourine proper.

    You rock, man.

    Great job !

  • @ThePurpleHarpoon ..we should get you tambourine lessons......i think they come with Beer or Wine chasers............thank you for visiting.

  • That's pretty impressive! ;)

  • Best cover for possibley one of the greatest songs ever!

  • Great job! I am impressed. Good move on changing the snare. Quite a noticeable difference.

  • I am impressed!

  • shit man you rock

  • Man dude! You make it look so easy! You have an awesome talent. Can't wait to see you play live.

  • are you a lefty playing righty? i saw you lead alot with your left hand and the ride being on your left side. just curious. great song!

  • Your drumkit and cymbals are absolutely beautiful my friend. Great drumming by the way fellow skinbeater! Great Zildjians and great taste in music too! One of my all-time favorite bands! \m/

  • Nice job indeed....

Couple of changes to the song..

In the "Foreplay" section, I believe the fill after the ride cymbal rhythm is up the toms not down! What do you think?

Then after the first acoustic gutiar break in Long Time the fill is all snare and bass drum until the last part.....

But really solid playing a great song from a great band...

  • Man, watching makes any bad day I am having great. Thanks for continue to post. You are awesome.

  • Wow.

  • Very nice! My father got me into Boston when i was about 10. He has the original album. A couple years I saw them live, was my favorite concert i've ever been too. Keep up the good work!

  • Cool there is alot of very good music from many time lines,,,,,,,,,,it's really cool to know that more and more people are open to looking back. !

    Cheers

  • Love the vid! been trying to get that opening down for a little bit now, haha counting is my best friend! Much Love

  • Petar,

I found your channel looking for Boston tracks especially Hitch a Ride. I think you are awesome and I envy you. Nice job. Keep it up.

    Dave

  • Thank you!

Did you find Hitch a Ride?

  • Yes, thanks, I found Hitch a Ride on your channel as well as other channels. By the way, your ending is best. I think that is the track where you offer different ending choices.

    D

  • well deserved doubles....served with respect... ... and you didn't forget to count...love it brutha keep it up...CHEERS!

  • In the 7:00 min. area ...Ballet in motion

  • it's videos like this that make YouTube great. Now I have a much better appreciation of just how talented the drummer from Boston really was/is.

    and I'm from Boston,lol.

    Excellent playing man.

  • A very humble and greatful thank you!

I hope that everyone gets something good from my fun!

    Cheers

    }Froggman

  • Another great kick-ass tune / request is from RTZ; Brad Delp & Tom Scholtz' project. The song is "There's Another Side."

  • So tasty! Petar, I love this; amazing & you always cover the most (yet underrated) drummer's contributions. Studio Gods like Jeff Pocaro, John "Sib" Hasian, Jaimoe Johanson, Joey Krammer & Phil Collins. Always loved the space noises at the 2:00 mark and then the Scholtz guitar distortion drag at the 5:55 mark.

  • Well, I'm watching your videos again, and there was just no way I could go on without commenting your excellent playing.

Making me discover new genres and tricks as usual, your playing, timing and feel are a sure inspiration.

Here I am thinking competitively to myself "I like this and that, but I wouldn't like to develop that specific technique" etc, while I should consider myself more than an achieved drummer if I ever reach your current level.

    Greetings!

    Primal

  • Very rare to find a drummer playing left on a right kit. Nice!

  • what kind of drum set do you have?

  • Love this song, the set sounds perfect. Good job

  • Great! The Foreplay prelude it's the best part i.m.o.

  • Absolutely great playing to a great song. 5 Stars for sure. Keep pumping out that classic rock. No music today will ever touch this

  • Hey Petar - was just thinking "gee, that snare sound different" and then the pop up told me so! LOL Great as usual -

Cheers from Greenfield Park...and now I'm move along and see what Alain's been up to!

    Steve

  • Good God man! Best ever. Wow, I'm sorry, no one can touch this. - Bill

  • Petar if the day job doesn't work out you always have a backup of playing in any band you ever wanted.

  • Thank you!

and I owe you a song,,,,,,,,,,,,this week was crazy! I had 1 night I could play and I did the selfish thing and recorded 5 songs in a row that i felt like playing.......I won't get back to my kit until next week. I will get it!!

    Enjoy the weekend!

    Cheers

  • 5 outstanding stars!

I'm just turned 50, so that song brought back a ton of memories for me.

Your kit and snare sound great! So nice to pick up tips from a fellow lefty on a right handed kit.

Thanks for a wonderful 7:41. You're a very good drummer.

I worked at a drum shop for many years, so I had many kits over the years. Take care.

    peace.

  • Wow, Thank you! I will take you're informed opinion and compliment. Yeah,,,,,,,,where did all the years go...........
