I have played A LOT of bad company 2 (like, a lot), especially as an engineer. I've planted and dropped a lot of helicopters with tracer darts, but I never realized how they worked on tanks until I watched this video. I ALSO didn't realize that you could plant tracers on gun emplacements (though it makes sense now.) Great vid. Thanks a lot.

I hate tracer, I just hate it, it has taken all fun out of the vehicles in my opinion, and from engineer-class too. Just pop a tracer and shoot behind cover, no need to actually figure out how you're going to take out the tank and avoid it from shooting you.

The whole point of the game is for teamwork and showing the skills and coordination of your team

CoD is just a luckers game, you run around relying on your ping to keep you winning each spray fight and then they shout really loud when they get killed by a 'camper' who has a nice defensive position

@Hrcy007 I disagree. BFBD2 has big maps but also has very tiny maps where you nearly spawn in the enemys lap and your CQC skills come handy... I prefer the big maps like Atacama and Arica but I also like the fact that there are very small maps like White pass where you need to work your way thru a block of buildings where enemies are camping. That's where shotgun and nades are handier than a sniper rifle and a ghillie suit.

if you fire a tracer at a part of a vehicle that can fall off it will dissapear when the piece comes off...

also you can destroy tracers with smoke...if you fire a smoke nade at a tank or use the tanks smoke all tracers dissapear..

Pretty Simple actually. Just keep aiming at the red box that appears when the tracer dart is applied intill it stops blinking. Then Fire in any direction and it should lock on.

Works best with that rocket launcher that is used in the video

@jony1710 Ya, they are the weakest in the back. I don't know if this one tank had much armor or what, but I fired a RPG (I think) \in the door (felt like it was up the butt o3o) of a BMD tank and it exploded in one hit, but I think it was already damaged.

Whenever I used the CG I couldn't do damage to the tanks fast enough - they'd just get repaired. So I switched to the RPG-7 + Upgrade, and they started actually blowing up. Also, enemy helicopters were surviving my CG hits, but the RPG-7 + Upgrade is almost always 1-hit-kill on helicopters. I've only seen one survive that ONCE. Now I'm using the AT4 a bit more, too, since I got the platinum on the RPG-7.

Do you always have to centre the tracer lock to the crosshair scope before firing in any direction? I don't know how you guys hit helis with it, I can only do it if it's close now with the new update it's even harder since the dart travels slower.

Its not an RPG if it can lock on... IT DOESN't EVEN SHOOT A ROCKET, It shoots a grenade sealed in side a case that most people would think would be a rocket.

The tracer gun does no damage, so one cannot be killed by it directly. I remember one time I was playing rush and me and my teammates had a dart gun fight with tracers. That was fun. I've been practicing using the tracer lately, it's a ton of fun and I love taking town choppers.

@persianhobo works with all but the last one, which is "self seeking" or whatever you want to call it, when you fire, you keep your scope up and it will change directions as you guide it, "self guiding" makes more sense :)

@kimboslice223 well from what ive found out from experimenting, the gustav fires faster, but kills tanks in around 4 hits. The rpg fires slower, but it kills the tank in 3. I prefer the gustav though, cuz its a chopper killer. :)

@ralyt People also seem to forget that the Gustav projectile moves almost twice as fast as the RPG normally does :)
