Incredible. I have seen a photo of the body of a pilot pulled out of the cockpit of a lend-lease hurricane recovered from a similar bog. The body was almost perfectly preserved. The facial features were easily recognisable. RIP the crew.

@efc23 It says the co pilot Ivan Rylov lived in an air pocket , until about four weeks before the plane was discovered, he apparently survived on frogs and swamp water, hence his perfectly preserved state when they dragged him out.

What is amazing is the he wrote eleven books while down there, three of which have become world best sellers, rescuers were puzzled by the the fact that he hadn't aged by even a day and looked exactly the same as the day of the crash.

Wow, recovery after all these years, I wish peace for his family. They have him back, finally.... Sad.
