  • Terrence Mann is super awesome!!! He's my favorite actor and singer. He is so amazing!!! Bob and Javert are two of my favorite people he's played, but Iove all of them. Javert and Bob are just two of my many many favorites. :) Terrence Mann ROCKS!

  • I love Terrence Mann....a lot. I have started to worry my parents...XP

  • @amazinggarrett1 There are 2 songs from Les Miz on here. The first one is right after the gun song, it's a clip of him as Javert during the '87 Tony's singing One Day More. The other is after he says, "You're a fugitive?", and that is Stars.

  • I know everyone thinks he resembles Tim Curry, but to me he is the spitting image of Bob Geldof, at least in the 80's. I've seen few people who have talent to match his. He is just breathtaking, to this day. In fact he was on 30 Rock this week in an episode titled "TGS hates women". There was also a mention of Critters 3 on Community last week.

  • Damn..........and to think I went to HS with Terry! Awesome!

  • what is 1:47 to 2:19???

  • If they ever do a legit Harry Potter Musical, Terry should be Snape. He plays that kind of character so well!! <3 love him =D

  • @lambertgirl16 That would be freakin' amazing! XD I would love to see him play Severus Snape in a musical format of the Harry Potter Books!!!!!!!

  • I'm in love. :P We need more people like him!

  • By the way.,.I want to see all of these, is there perhaps someplace i can go to find more of his works? I would LOVE to see his Scarlet Pimpernel and whatever show that was you kept shoing!

  • Dude..this this just end with a timelord regeneration? (kidding I know he wasn't one)

  • He reminds me of a more awesome Tim Curry

  • @Echosofthemind YES! He especially reminded me of Tim during the Mr. Mistoffeles song beginning at 2:55.

  • What show is the first clip from?

  • Whats the video clip from 2:56 - 3:18 ?

  • @me323 From "A Chourus Line". Great Musical.

  • So, I've been looking for the gun song for like two weeks, and it's impossible to find by Mann except for on here, very frustrating

  • Just saw him in Addams Family- and yet again, he just knocks me out, he was wonderful. He needed more to do, though!!!

  • wich musical 2:40? :)

  • @nightdice: i didn't mean he's not wonderful as rum tum tugger, i meant it's not his normal style.. nice change though =)

  • He is adaptable ;P <3 :P

  • man, he´s one of the most talented artist of our time, and i never realized that.

  • i just met him last weekend after seeing The Addams Family...he's such a gentleman in person!

  • There's something amazing about him...I just don't know what it is...

    I LOVE HIM!!! <3

  • What's the show where he has blue skin??

  • Is it a cartoon or what?

  • This was great, Terrence Mann is such a powerhouse! I love his voice and acting. I had a chance to see him live when Scarlet Pimpernel came out...I totally loved him in the original critters. He always makes the perfect villain in the Broadway shows, though his turn in Beauty and the Beast was wonderful. Great compilation.

  • I wish they kept The Making of The Scarlet Pimpernel up on Youtube. I miss seeing that =[

  • Stars!!!! still gets me every time i hear Terrence Mann sing it, cuz he's the only on who can do it justice...every time i hear his version (the original) i start to tear up...darn you Terrence Mann, you and your beautiful voice...

  • wow you were creeping on him worse than my sister and i.

  • you can watch the first twelve dresden files on Hulu

  • Wow, he's just incredibly talented. There's something about him...

  • I LOVE this! Love how it's humourous too. Please, please, please, as you have the show cos it's in this video, could you post a clip from the original production of the Scarlet Pimpernel with Terrence Mann singing Where's the Girl or Falcon in the Dive? I have been dying to see a clip of him singing a song from the show but there is nothing on YouTube =(

  • hes like the perfect combo of two of my fave ppl and yet hes his own entity *faints ...

  • Hahaha, I love how all these little clips co-relate with the next somehow.

  • I thought this was awesome! I LOVE Terrence Mann! I've always thought he has the most beautiful voice and he's so emotional when he sings! It was fun to be able to see him! It makes me very curious about The Dresden Files. I was never able to see that show, but now I want to.

  • on the first clip, is the black haired guy charlie mcfadden from critters. I am aware that the clip isnt critters but I was wondering if they have both been in another film together because it really looks like him.

  • Oh My !

    HIS VOICE !

  • gahh he's amazing. he has the best voice ever. i'm such an admirer!

  • What is the song that starts at 4:35?

  • That's "Wanting" from the musical "Rags"

  • What???? No Big Top Peewee?

  • Sorry; couldn't find anything.

  • What is the TV show where Terrence has white hair?

  • the dresden files. it lasted on season on scifi (now syfy), but you can get it on dvd

  • the dresden files

  • Where did you get the Scarlet Pimpernel clips?

  • On a documentary about the show. I just took the (very few) clips that were in it.

  • I love his baritone. X3 Terry!!!!!!!!!! -hugs-

I love the Scarlet Pimpernel songs and the Dresden Files flashes are love.

What is the song from 2:26 to around 2:40? As well as one on 2:59 and 3:31.

  • The first is "Stars" from Les Miserables; the second is "Mr Mistoffeles" from Cats

  • @Soranomirai why did you have to say that. those where my all time favorite terry mann song!!!!

  • @terrancemannlover Sorry :(

  • I have the original Broadway cast recording of Cats and I had no idea he was the Rum Tum Tugger. Tugger is my absolute most favorite character in that particular musical.

And the Beast. If I Can't Love Her makes me cry every time.

  • I saw A Chorus Line. Last Night. It was so long. No intermission. It was like 2hrs and 15mins with no intermission. Never in my life. Have I sat through a performance like that! Terry is wonderful I just love him.

  • is THAT how long the show is? When I saw the Broadway revival while it was still running, it didn't feel like that. But trust me, there are longer shows.

  • The quintessential broadway baritone (in my humble opinion).

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Omigod. I'd love to have a video of him in The Scarlet Pimpernel! I'd love to see him as Chauvelin.

  • what show is it at 0:22??

  • The Dresden Files, a fantasy/mystery TV series with Paul Blackthorne playing the titular Harry Dresden. Mann plays his friend and ghost confidante Bob.

  • 0:34 - 0:54 BEST

  • Whats the songs at 1.00 1.59 4.37 5.34 6.23

  • 1:00--"The Gun Song," from Sondheim's Assassins starring Mann as Czolgolsz, 1:59 and 5:34--Mann singing "The Riddle" from The Scarlet Pimpernel, 4:37--"Wanting," a duet from the musical Rags with Julia Migenes as Rebecca and Terrence as Saul, and 6:23--"A Falcon in the Dive," also from The Scarlet Pimpernel.

  • The part with all the kids and he's singin about toys, what is that from?

  • Mrs. Santa Claus, starring Angela Lansbury. He plays the villainous Mr. Tavish, a humbug toy factory owner.

  • he is very important for me!

    I love him

  • It's funny how he has a British accent in almost everything he does. Before I looked it up I kind of thought he was just British...

  • I love him!!

  • This is so weird...I found Terrence Mann through the Dresden Files, so seeing him singing is...weird. And I agree with warn81--he really does look like Tim Curry when he was younger. Freaky.

  • He looks so much like a younger tim curry....weird.

  • When Bob says to Dresden "a fugitive?" and you cut to a shot of Javert I almost spit out my coffee. Hilarious! Also, I love Terrence Mann.

  • He wasn't in the original Broadway version of Assassins. Maybe the off Broadway and the revival. but yea I knew the one about Cats. And yea that is what I meant. Thanks!! Bye :)

  • Was he in the original or reprise of Assassins and Cats. You know in Les Miserable and Scarlet Pimpernal he sounds very different. His voice is deeper and bigger in SP and Rags compared to Les Miserable. But he still is the best Javert and one of my favorite broadway singers.

  • he was in the original of both -- the original off-broadway Assassins (it didn't move to on Broadway until later) and the original Broadway Cats. He certainly sings very stylistically different in Cats, though; I see what you mean.

  • Terrence Mann did things with the character of Hrothbert of Bainbridge that nobody else could have ever DREAMED of. He made him human, he made him sympathetic, and he made me cry, laugh, and squeal from fangirl joy more times than I can count.

  • Terrance Mann is the best Javert...just listen to him singing "Stars" on the original Broadway cast album of Les Miz.

  • Mmmmm, he's very hot in these Dresden Files! :D

OMG WHERE can I get the OLB? That's the only Les Mis version I don't have.

    Please PM if somebody knows.

  • Just a bit random..

  • I love all the great stuff he's been in transposed with the ridiculous, lol.

I met him when he was in Les Miz a few years ago, and it was amazing! (he'd been in a show with a friend of mine, but I'd never managed to meet him). He was very sweet and made fun of me, which I thought was awesome (I was in conservatory but still in love with musicals). :D

  • Terrence Mann is in bloody everything!

  • Haha. I noticed you put 'Sorry, sorry.' and 'It's bad' over the critters 4 box. NICE touch. What song is that at 1:20 and did I miss it or did you remove the picture of him as Oberon from Gargoyles?

  • God, I love Terry... He's such a fantastic singer and a pretty damn amazing actor, too.

  • I freaking love him to pieces. :)

    Thank you for this video!

  • omgosh....i did not know he played so many roles

    tks for posting this

  • I love Terrance Mann... I saw him live at the 5th Ave in seattle.

  • I love the part in One Day More from Les Mis where he appears!

    Very cool.

  • I didn't know he was in Cats or Les Mis!!!!He was so great in Beauty and the Beast. Don't get me started how awesome he was in SP. ::fans self:::

    :::THUD:::

  • WOAH!!! Who was he in Les Miserables?

  • He played the first Broadway Javert.

  • No way! My best friend is playing that at my school!

  • Javert in the first and final Broadway run.

  • I LOVE HIM IN SP!!

  • He's on the official Broadway cast album for Les Miserables as Javert. He was the first and last Javert.

  • Norm Lewis was actually the las avert. They had a revival nd Norm Lewis was Javert

  • Where did you get the clips from SP?

  • This was very nicely put together. I enjoyed watching it. I saw Terrence in "The Scarlet Pimpernel". An amazing, excellent musical.

  • He was our guest lecturer at my theatre class while he was at my school directing Guys and Dolls. He is a cool guy.

  • He was a year ahead of me in high school. Great guy from a really nice family. I dated his younger brother.

  • Oh my god! I love him! He is like, my favorite actor of all time! Is it weird to have a crush on someone three times your age? On second thought, don't answer that.

  • Of course not! I agree that he's crush-worthy.

  • the man is so awesome that he could be 80 and I would still want him!

  • Oh, agreed. I love Terrence. and if it is weird, then I'd better stop crushing on Tim Curry, too...

  • *sighs smittenly* God, I love this man (pardon the pun). Beautiful voice, and one of the only men I can think of that looks better with white hair. Though he does look good in the Beauty and the Beast one, too...

^_^ And yes. I am truly obsessed.

    -SS

  • Oh my god, that made me laugh so hard. Brilliant stuff. Stupid question coming up, though: what was that clip where he's picking on the kids making toys at Christmas?! 'tis the season for me to find that movie to watch!!

  • The movie is Mrs. Santa Claus...One of my personal childhood favorites :)

  • what a brilliant actor...one of the best ever...never go the recognition he deserves...his work in directing is amazing too!

  • Whats 3:19 and 3:20 from?? He has an Afro! *laughs*

  • From Critters (the first one)when he's in the bowling alley. :D

  • Yeah Critters! Power of the Night! Man I love him...

  • rum tum tugger music video...pretty cool check it out

  • I saw him twice in The Scarlet Pimpernel and once in Beauty and The Beast.

    he is AMAZING!!!

this video is amazing thank you!

  • The audio at around 6:15, is that from Rags??

  • No; that's from Assassins. The song from Rags is at about 4:36, entitled "Wanting." I have a complete audio up of it on YouTube, if you're interested.

  • OMG!! he was in that bump in the night show? I used to watch that ages ago. Btw, nice vid.

  • I was talking to my mom the other day about Terrence, (Now we love Les Mis, We love Beauty and the beast Cats, just love them) She looked me in the eye and said "Who's Terrence Man?" HELLO

  • Mmmmm love him. Never met him, but I saw him perform Javert in 2003 (his "farewell to Broadway" run- he was only there for ~6 weeks) and he was fantastic. He was really stiff in his movements, and for a while I was disappointed but then I realised that it was a character choice. But his voice was, of course, divine.

  • I saw him as Dr. Frank N. Futter in The Rocky Horror show in 2001.

  • Amazing work, well done it was absolutely fantastic. Thank you for all of your hard work.

  • i got to work with Terrance Mann in his Wake Co public school production of Les Miserables directed by him. He is amazing!

  • OMG!! i loovveee him!!! i never knew he was in so many things!

but wait... in the les mis tony awards clip, the ppl in the background are in like slow motion...??

3:21...lol and 6:40 was funny too.

  • I liked how you matched up the clips with the song clips. Very well done. I fell in love with him when I was lucky enough to see him in Scarlet Pimpernel. That voice makes me melt every time I hear it.

  • I'm SUCH a Mannfann, but he's been such a jerk to me both times I almost met him.

The fugitive/running bit was brilliant. And the opening clip with the showtunes remark. And I have a PHYSICAL reaction to Where's the Girl...

  • He was a jerk to u ?

  • Yes indeed. I saw him in Les Mis when I was twelve, and I practically ran to the stage door afterward to get his autograph. I'd only ever seen him in Javert costume at that point, so I didn't recognize him right away. He told me he was a janitor and hurried away. Another (friendly) actor pointed out a few minutes later that I had spoken to TM--why didn't I have his autograph?

  • (Sorry, couldn't fit it in one comment.) A year later I saw him in concert. I brought that old LM playbill and sat in the front row. Afterward, I waited at the stagedoor AGAIN; publicity people said we were at the wrong door and sent us down the block. Walking away, we heard the door slam and turned just in time to see him ducking into a car.

I'm going to a LM directed by TM this Friday; I'm bringing that old playbill...

  • That's not jerky so much as not wanting to talk to fans. Not all actors/actresses like it.

  • Well, I did finally meet him Friday and get him to sign that playbill, but he still has a horrible attitude for someone who thinks so highly of himself. I love his voice, but in person, as one of my friends put it, "he's kind of a tool."

  • Aw. Well, at least you got the autograph.

  • well you know, its hard to be nice to everyone, i met him myself at a playbill signing for les miz, and he didnt seem like a "tool". i think that fame is hard, he tries his best, he could have been having a bad day or something. thats the thing about stars that people dont seem to get, if the star is having a rough day, or is tired, or isint absoulutely perfect to them, they go all balistic, hes only human...

  • even John Barrowman does that, I'm not putting him down but in certain circumstances actors wont see their fans.

  • Where did You Almost meet him?

  • I'm so disappointed to hear he's not usually nice to his fans, because I like him as an actor. People can defend it all they want, he's having a bad day, etc., but from the comments I see here it sounds to me like he's just one of those actors who consistently don't care about their fans. Seriously, it doesn't take more than a few minutes after the show to smile and sign a few autographs. After all, an actor is nothing without fans!

  • I've loved Terrence Mann for a long time now, and for a while thought I'd seen (and heard) just about everything with him...but thanks for giving me three new things to put on my Christmas wish list!

  • I've been in love with him since I saw him in Les Miz in 1987. Thank you for this montage. Or should I say Manntage.

  • Is that you in the picture with him?

  • Alas, no. I have never had to honor of meeting Mr. Terrence Mann.

  • My heart is swelling! I just love that Mann and all he does. Thank you for this.

  • Alright, so I just discovered Terrence a couple weeks ago. A friend of mine suggested the Scarlet Pimpernel soundtrack, and I immediately fell in love with Terrence Mann's voice...so powerful and intriguing. I'm now obsessed with him, and did not realize he was in Mrs. Santa Claus...I loved that movie as a child!

  • Damn, this guy is talented.

    What's he singing at 1:18?

  • 1:18 is the Gun Song from the musical Assassins.
