You have to open a VPN connection to the school server and connect with the database there with your school username and password. Once you have made the connection to the database it should work.

Make sure your IIs is turned off ! Go to Administrative tools, services, and find "IIS Admin" and turn it off. Then the Wamp server will be able to run and you will be able to access you PHPMyAdmin link, hope it helps

@SiiKHD i had the same problem, but if you are runing SKYPE try to log off from it (skype) then go on Start>wampserver> and click on start wampserver, after that go to the system try and click on WAMPSERVER little icone and click on PUT ONLINE. now you can go and access your phpmyadmin

Hi, Great video! I recently moved my joomla site to a host! I downloaded wamp2.1 & practice the DB transfer & simply could not make it work locally! All i could get to show was what looked like a new installation of joomla!, & my site is 230mb is size! But when doing it in my new Cpanel it worked perfectly first time. thats because there are conflicts with older php_mysqli.dll files, try deleting the others, also deleting old enviroment variables  paths.

also some people fix it replacing it with new downloaded dlls.

I'm thinking the first probably is HTML+PHP+SQL

HTML for Mark-up language (structure of contents on a web site) Php for Side server... processing data functions across a web server.

And SQL for database management/MySQL

Php and SQL works together, communicates with eachother. Also learn Javascript to enhance HTML contents. PHP and SQL are pretty damn easy.

I suggest switching to linux, ubuntu server 7.2 and install lamp.

You cant have to apache servers on the same computer they conflict, in the source code there's something you need to amend to make a server work, best bet is to use a virtual server if you want to use 2.

My server wouldn't start (though I crossed my fingers!) When I tried "Start Services" nothing happened. Then I tried "Put Online" and I get the error "Could not execute menu item (internal error) [Exception] Could not perform service action: The service has not been started

Try another computer - see what happens - this will eliminate computer errors - need to trouble shoot - do the easy stuff first.
