  • Do all Carolina Dogs love to dig up dirt and sod? Ours does A LOT. We don't have gophers or moles... maybe she is eating grubs and worms.

  • Our Carolina Dog was one of a litter of 9, whose feral mother disappeared. She probably came from the Lake Pontchartrain cypress swamps. There are deer and smaller animals there, AND ALLIGATORS.

Our Izzy likes like water. She will try to eat the hose spray. But she will NOT lie down in water. Possibly because of the threat of alligators! I'm guessing that natural selection was at work... the ones that relaxed there got eaten!

Does your Carolina Dog refuse to lie down in the water???

  • rodent detecting! good puppy!

  • I can pretty much guarantee you they are in search of rodents, gophers, field mice, or moles. My Carolina dog keeps my gopher population down and the thing with grabbing the grass, well that is not playing. Most of what they do is business. Mine has pet birds who eat his kibble He saves some for the birds. They are his pets. After his pets eat, my dog proceeds to lick off their droppings, and then lifts his leg on the nearest post to let them know who is boss. Everything is business but fun!

  • I have a dingo and are they cute!

  • I too have a CD/AD! It's cool how she bites & pulls up big pieces of sod!

  • lol ours used to pounce and eat grass hoppers - she also used to catch and eat squirrels.. she was a real survivor.

  • I have a Carolina dog lol. Just got her on June 24th. She's a little more goldish blonde though.

  • So this is the american dingo? Do they still live in the wild?

  • they do still live in South Carolina and Georgia in cypress swamps, though saddly, their numbers are decreasing. Yes Carolina Dogs are another name for the American Dingo. A common name for them is AD/CD

  • That is the official version of where they live. I have imperial evidence that they are actually widespread through out North America, Mexico, including the Baja Peninsula, into Central America (I personally encountered one on the streets of San Jose, Costa Rica) and all the way down into the southern portion of South America and maybe even further. They are nocturnal like they Coyote, but unlike the Coyote, they are silent and sneak. That's why no one ever sees them, and if they do - AD/CD?????

  • i dnt get it these r one of my favs but they cant be copmpared to the real dingos of ours

  • Yes. In South Carolina and Georgia they are part of the wild fauna...

  • Boy the one digging seems so determined and the other one looks like its wondering what all the fuss is about but if you pull up something edible you better share it.

I could have watched more of this, I wanted to see the end results: )

  • i got one..its in the roots

  • Looks like she's an expert at unearthing mole tunnels. I have a Carolina too but she would rather just lie in the sun and let the moles root around her. Great dogs! Thanks for sharing!

  • those rascals!

  • Wow! You've captured the spirit of the American Dingo! Ours is a 3-year old female. We adopted her when she was about 11months. It has been an amazing journey living and traveling her. I doubt I'll ever have a different type of dog. The AD/CD is perfect, and you've a great job capturing the personality of of these wonderful animals.

  • i have a CD/AD too. they make awesome pets. mine is a 6 year old non-fixed male named rebel

  • i have a landscaping company , i could use about 20 of them there carolina dogs for plantings and lawn renovations.cute pups
