  • yes baba g this our homeland country we love it we love it very much

  • He embarked on Khyber mail from Karachi, which reached Kotri at 5 am. But he was shown talking to people in a lower AC carriage during day time while en-route to Rohri. I guess they did another segment and this time on shalimar and later included it in the final cut.

  • @yonowomo

    Sorry Rohri at 5 am.

  • @yonowomo yess i agree with what you are saying.....they must have done another cut and edited it into the whole video. There is another segment in this part when shalimar crosses a phatak at a high speed. I am surprised they didn't cover shalimar's parlour car....

  • @sasPRfan

I guess they wanted to show Tully among ordinary passengers. Interesting to know that Tully talked to people in AC lower, which is not considered a lower class. Shalimar also had economy and they should have shown that instead.

On a related note, the videography is excellent. They have also used helicopters in the Bolan pass segment. You can also see them following Tezgam when Tully goes to Pindi. I guess they had a crew filming Tully's train from outside wherever he went.

  • @yonowomo lol...he must have thought lower AC mean lower class, although my experience of shalimar (back in the 2000s) was much better as portrayed in the video. at that time its lower AC was like an ICE BOX...and a clean one. Karachi exp and tezgam also had lower ACs till 2007, they were properly maintained and kept, but now business class is all over the place. BTW, do u like our locally manufactured business class coaches??

  • @sasPRfan

Tezgam never had lower AC coaches. It was always AC sleeper, first class sleeper and economy. They introduced business class in Tezgam in 2004; it was then known as lower AC special. Yes, Karachi express had lower AC coaches. In fact, when it was first rebranded in 1997, it was an all AC lower train with just one AC sleeper carriage.

Pakistani business class coaches have more space than the Chinese ones though windows are smaller. I traveled in Karakorum in 2002; it was horrible.

  • @yonowomo oh okay....i thought tezgam had lower ac.....acha so the ac lower SPECIAL is the business class we see now adays....makes sense.

  • Excellent documentary. Indeed Indian 1st class does not have ensuite bathrooms. One has to go at the end of the carriage to do the needful. Tully does not know but there was also a non-AC first class until a few years ago. It was called sleeper and it also had personal toilets in coupes.

  • @yonowomo

I mean in Pakistan there were personal toilets in non-AC sleepers. India has no such distinction of course.

  • @yonowomo the sleeper class still exists, i've noticed these on two trains...Super express and bahauddin zakkarya express....and oh yes on quetta express

  • @sasPRfan

Quetta express still has sleeper, isn't it full economy now? That's good but it no longer can be found on tezgam, khyber mail, bolan mail, and scores of other trains. The introduction of business class has killed sleeper class I guess though the latter is more expensive.

Sleeper used to be a cheaper yet private way of traveling with your own coupe and toilet. AC sleeper is still there but it is too expensive that one can chip in a thousand more rupees and travel by air.

  • @yonowomo yes its almost been abolished. Quetta express has one sleeper coach...infact its such a shame its been stripped down to just 8 coaches. One of my videos has it. I think the sleeper availability declined after 2007 when most of our trains got mixed pakistani and chinese rakes. It makes our trains look so nonlinear. Even karakoram express in no longer uniform.

  • @sasPRfan

Trains look horrible in this mixed color livery. Sleeper became a casualty of business class. They need to lower the fare of AC sleeper as it is too expensive. One has to pay around 5,000 rupees for RWP-KHI on tezgam. Add a thousand more and you can travel by air instead of wasting 29 hours as tezgam has now become a horrible train.

Karakorum has lost its worth and it no longer travels on the main Lhr-khanewal line. I don't know why they give so much value to Faisalabad.

  • @sasPRfan

I think Quetta is no longer a busy route due to law and order situation. Jaffer is also a small train with just nine or ten coaches.

  • Pakistan railways is collapsing now it;s running on huge loss.

  • nice video thanks for uploading

  • beautifull PAKISTAN

  • @AHMADWAQAS100 do you think the train that crossed by at 6:47 is Shalimar express, because it has 3 parlour coaches??what do you think??

  • @sasPRfan yes this train is SHALIMAR EXPRESS
