The same Allen West that sent his unemployed brother to a democratic-run jobs fair...????...Black converatives like all conservative are totally useless...Scott is another useless house knee-grow that just parrots the right wing myth of white supremacy...
@TheJcp1234 I did raise my hand, sitting in the second row. He ignored me. I turned the video off because a cop came and removed me, then arrested me.
@Katya67 You're making the sweeping argument that the government does it better and as evidence you provide medicare... which is not just broke, but completely bankrupt, as the focal point of your "evidence"? And then you also use the feeding of soldiers argument? The "facts" you are using help my argument, not yours, genius.
We are 14 trillion in debt, and next year the debt will increase...and we as Americans are living in a society that we can not afford...whether its health care, military spending, etc...it's that simple...dont touch this dont touch that will continue until we have runaway inflation, a devalued currency, 20% unemployment...then the real problems begin..
Tbagger vision of America. They haul anyone off that doesn't agree with them. Beware America! you WILL get MORE of that if you vote this crazy in. Giving the elderly vouchers to purchase private insurance is a disaster waiting to happen. 55 and under? Forget about it, you're kicked to the curb.
Could it be that allen west had the questions hand picked because he doesnt know what he is talking about except reading what his right wing buddies tell him and repeating it. Ive seen him in a debate with Ron Klien and he is nothing but a fire breather.
Regardless of the issue, there must be order to things and West has every right to set up the order he chooses. He doesn't even have to have a townhall meeting (like most Democrats NEVER do because they're wrong on every issue). When someone starts screaming and interrupting, whatever the venue, whoever the speaker, that is disturbing the peace, disrupting the process and making themselves more important than everyone else that has respect and follows the rules. You are a disgrace to society.
What is fucking funny about this Allen West clown is he thinks he has gravitas. He doesn't. Notice how he doesn't really complete any argument ? He has ASSERTIONS. This is how authoritarian fuckstains like him, and his supporters, think. They make assertions, not arguments, and never cite any facts, evidence, or use any logic to tie it together. The think repeating their unAmerican BELIEFS over and over counts as an argument.
Nicole has a legal case because the cops must prove that she refused to leave after being told to leave, which another video reveals she did not refuse to leave. If it were me, I'd sue everyone responsible including Allen West.
@marsnr1 BS!! Nicole knows exactly what the republican budget proposal is about and she knows no senior citizen could buy health insurance in the "free market" now so it is very unlikely they will in 15 years. Insurance companies won't sell to anyone over 65 unless THEY HAVE MEDICARE which pays first. NS didn't say anything against West's race or his beliefs -- just his policies.
@Katya67 There is an arrangement for senior citizens right now. There is medicare! And nothing stops you of creating an organisation who supports people with their medical bills. You can give all your money to it!
Why do you liberals see the government as the solution for every problem?
You only create dependence of big government and take all individual responsibility away of people. You're way closer to fascism as the smalll government, libertarian like views of Allen West.
@marsnr1 Did Nicole throw someone out of a meeting? No! West's goons told her to leave she did and in the process she was cuffed and arrested for failing to do what SHE WAS DOING!!
Lol, no fascism is a totalitarian regime which doesn't distinguish where the individual serves the state. The state arranges a sociallist like welfare state for individuals to create dependence and works together with big companies who serve the goals of the government. Stuff like Obamacare and the way environmental issues are handled fit right away in the fascist utopia.Fascism is a branch of socialism, don't forget that. An arrest of a hysterical woman has nothing to do with facism.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
Our founding fathers would be so unbelievably irate knowing that someone got arrested for following the rules they laid down. They created the first amendment because of bull shit like this happening over in Europe. BUT.... (read below)
...I do however want to look at this logically. I just saw a video where Clinton was at a town hall meeting & a person asking the tough questions was escorted out, so we can't point the finger at a one side. Second, he clearly said free market & competition which directly mean privatization. He wasn't trying to hide it. I also truly believe a majority of the "make everything private" group DO believe it would lower costs; I don't think their trying to pull a fast one, they think it would help.
@Katya67 Hey, hope your still fighting the fight. I'm not on either side... I can't be, I don't have all the facts yet. I found the Bill Clinton clip: watch?v=kP3cQDitQEU I was just pointing out that it's not just the Republicans who kick people out of town hall meetings. I don't doubt that the privatized group made it impossible for older folks to get care... their all for the profit and not for the care. Whatever happens, I hope people are happier and healthier than they are now.
We all should be thanking Nicole for standing up to little fascists like Uncle West & the brown shirts who arrested her. The police who were involved know nothing about our Constitution, nor about the law-they are simply ignorant pigs. They are paid by the public, not for the power structure. It's time to call on the Mayor to fire those involved. Uncle West is a bought & paid for right-wing freak who's only goal in life is to hang out w elite rich white snobs like the teabagging Koch Brothers.

I posted my video of them harrassing you (and the guy next to me) on my blog I also talked about his even friendlier town hall the next day in Boca Raton
Way to go, Nicole, at having the fortitude of exposing the hypocrisy of West and his extremist Right views. He voted to end Medicare for future Senior citizens, which the majority of Americans are opposed to, and like most conservatives, who are backed by Big Corporate interests, only deceive the public with the talking points, pre-designed for them, by those funding them financially and pulling their strings within a totally biased agenda.
Wow, whoever is shouting and holding the video obviously thinks that the only person of importance is the room is her. It's called "waiting your turn", and "getting your questions turned in like everybody else". It would be interesting to see if she was arrested for her comments, or for her disruptive behavior. Hmmmm.....Pretty sure that screaming and not letting up would be the reason....
@FarkleSwiss The questions were hand-picked and sanitized by West's staff. They admitted as much on camera later in the week but lied about it then too. Sandler would have been standing in line forever since there was NO LINE to stand in.
@Doogla4485 I guess you missed all the screamers in 2009 that DID NOT get PULLEd out of town halls or arrested etc. even when they were screaming the whole time, and carrying guns openly.
Not only is Rep. West a poor example of an American, but he is also a war criminal who dishonored the uniform & deserves our contempt. He will not be reelected, but that doesn't currently help the citizens in his district. Hopefully, whoever opposes him will be worthy of a big fat cash donation from me.
Wow theirs so many things wrong with what this lady stands for and what she said. But instead of going into long detail about them. I'd rather instead call her a bitch and make a graceful exit :)
That was BOSS-ASS. Takes a lot of guts to face down a cult figure from within his own cult. Thank you Nicole for standing up for the TRUTH! I hope you sue their asses for false arrest & brutality....Florida voters---WTF?!
Allen West is a Neo-Con Fascist Corporate whore. He has the mark of a puppet of Wall Street and the banks all over him. His campaign was funded by Bank of America and a PAC that is supported by Goldman Sachs. He voted to extend the PATRIOT ACT and is a war-mongerer. He has openly talked about censoring the media also. Spread the word!
I think Nicole is, uh, mmmmm, exaggerating about what district she lives in ... no current property records in the 22nd, the 17th yes, but not the 22nd, seems like an instigator to me ...
Nicole, congrats. This is your 15 mins of fame, so WORK IT GIRLFRIEND!! You'll get more hits here than combined listeners on your radio shows, so enjoy. Liberalsim is a disease of the mind, though I must admit you hide the Lobotomy-scars pretty well with that Jane Fonda hairdo. West will shake you off like a bad case of the fleas...
@swetty4020 LOL great comment swetty! They don't understand that it is a disease, they think they're being "progressive" or something like that. Yea it's real progressive to stick your hands in the pockets of the harder working class and rob them blind.
@swetty4020 Defending the lives of his men by torturing someone? Please pull the other one! Alana West retired after being Article 15ed. So we are paying him twice!! And paying fro health care for him and his family. Too bad he could care less if I have health care.
@Katya67 Torture huh??? LOL, clueless soul. He shot his sidearm OVER the head of a combatant that refused to answer questions that could have caused the death of OUR American warriors. That is defending his troops, and he should be commended for it. I see you've got your spiny Lib fingers all over this thread, obviously not a lot going on in your busy life huh? Tell you what, Mom is done cleaning your bedroom, you can go back to playing your X-Box Katya...enjoy the bong.
I thoroughly enjoy how you describe behavior that easily fits the definition of torture of a POW under the anti-torture treaties signed by the US, but then dismiss anyone calling it torture with some strained qualification that would only make sense to a 13 year old adolescent male.
@jlo1226 He did what he had to do when he felt the lives of the troops he was in command of were being compromised. The arm-chair quarterbacking is futile. He immediately went to his superior, set down his side-arm and went thru the process. It led to an honorable discharge with full benefits that he earned for his service to his country. I suppose you'd rather some American soldiers got ambushed and killed because he ignored his trained instincts. I commend him, as do most citizens.
@swetty4020 Who says? Allena ?? Who authorized Allena to detain that Iraqi citizen she tortured? there was no "honorable discharge", West was Article 15-ed and he retired straight after so we could pay him a monthly nut, health care for West and partial payment for her family. Then she could go work for some fascist private contractor in Afghanistan for the BIG BUCKS for 2 years !!!!!!!!
It looks to me like Allena accessed a disciplinary procedure not even available above the rank of Captain although I may be wrong. Why is a Colonel such a pussy he can't defend his action in an actual courts marital?? And I am speaking as someone with a 57 year old pussy. I would be more stand-up that this poseur.
Well, again, whatever rationale you want to put forth for torture doesn't magically make it not torture. Pointing a gun at an unarmed POW for the purpose of eliciting info is torture. And "armchair quarterbacking" isn't futile - ask the participants in the Abu Grahib scandal or the Pat Tillman fratricide. Finally, that's a logical fallacy in using an Appeal to Popularity to support your argument. Most thought no one should be punished for the Mai Lai Massacre too, what's your point?
@jlo1226 Torture, is torture, is torture. She got ZERO actionable information and did a huge disservice to her company -- stained forever!! That is why she retired -- disgraced.
Rep. Rangel noted that he was “very surprised” at the West's words,” but “he doesn’t come from the political party that can talk about plantations and that type of thing.” What? Meaning only Democrats own blacks? It's time the Republican party stopped saying "all people" and let blacks know that "all" includes BLACKS. What's good for the country, is good for blacks..and all other minorities for that matter.
Don't you mean Alana West? What a pussy. He can't even face his constituents on any real human level. Like a toddler he has to have his food cut for him. Too bad Nicole can't sue his ass too.
She was not handcuffed or jailed or maced for simply asking a question. She was causing a nuisance, she was asked to leave, she resisted and may have assaulted the officer. She deserved to get arrested. Ask your question, make your point, don't try to hijack the proceedings. Civility and manners really aren't that tough.
@advchaser You haven't watched the video. Sandler wasn't disruptive and she left when the huge Westie crybaby told her to and well before the cop ever got there. Then the cop -- what is a city cop doing here? -- starting pulling her around AS SHE WAS LEAVING . She never touched the officer. She told him to take his hands off her repeatedly and he keep touching her -- pushing and pulling her -- which he had no business doing to a citizen leaving an event.
Shhhh! Nobody march on Washington! They'll taze and arrest us! Never ask a politician a question! It's rude to put these people on the spot. They worked so hard to come up with the reality they have created for us, and it's really unfair to expect them to uphold the US constitution when that's the very thing they're trying to rip to shreds. Do not resist! We don't want Americans to get some reputation for being brave, intelligent, or good! That would be a lot of responsibility for us!
I find myself deeply conflicted here. On the one hand, your question regarding how privatizing the system and creating a profit motive was spot on and he should have let you ask it, then he should have answered it. On the other hand, only an idiot thinks the government does it better than the private market. But then again, you're a progressive. Progressives only learn their lesson post final melt down. Give Obama a kiss for me.
@RayJuniorShow Governement ACTUALLY does do it better than the private market. 4% vs. 12% overhewad Medicare vs. Private Insureres and the privates don 't insure any seniors over 65 unless sthey have Medicare. What does that tell you?
We used to feed soldiers on $4 a day. Now it costs us $30 a day through "Private Contractors'. All of that mushroomed during Bushie II and you can't tell me it hasn't had a huge impact on the deficits.
She was removed with others for rejecting his answers. The 112th Congress demanded extra taxpayer-funded security for their Teapublicans after the Giffords shooting. Technically I believe she was only arrested after she resisted the involuntary pat down inquiry. Nevertheless if there were 100 Liberals doing it instead of 3, they'd find the bag & tag to be a lot more difficult. She'll probably get a Dept of Homeland Insecurity file that can interfere with future petitions & FOIA requests.
@oldParasiteSingle You haven't watched the video. Sandler wasn't disruptive and she left when the huge Westie crybaby told her to and well before the cop ever got there. Then the cop -- what is a city cop doing here? -- starting pulling her around AS SHE WAS LEAVING . She never touched the officer. Sorry Sandler but you're obviously an economic illiterate. Sorry if you checked the economic history with NBER, prior to the LBJ legislation of 1965, blue collar workers could afford routine care and insurance. The problem you're angry about is corporatism which is the profit center of progressive Wall St, big business & big govt collusion.
Maybe it seems counter intuitive to you but the solution is not more govt, it's less.
@kmg501 seriously. Government regulation just gets in the way. Look at how awesome the banking industry got after we dropped those pesky government regulations. I'm also sick of government inspectors interfering with the food supply, testing it for pathogens and other potential hazards. And another thing : GOD DAMN BUILDING CODES! Get the government out of my skyscrapers!
You've built a stawman argument on fallacies. The banking industry is one of the most regulated in the world. However that sector is not responsible for the bubble creation, they were a symptom of it. The drivers of the bubble were the Federal Reserve, forced loans (HUD lawsuit) and ironically the prevention of regulation on Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac by Democrats back in 2004-2006. Here is the story the MSM never reported to the public.
@kmg501 I have no idea what you're talking about but I'm talking about the FREE MARKET, baby! I'm a friend of John Galt! Let's go to Atlantis! I'm talking about the FACT that all government can do is mess things up and that the only time anything ever goes right is when we deregulate things. Because, left to their own devices, people who are driven by a profit motive ALWAYS do the thing that most benefits society at large. History has shown this time and again.
Your brand of lightweight sophistry doesn't work on me. If you don't want to take a look at those links and then start thinking about the implications, that is fine. I am not here to force you to do anything. BTW, public libraries have long been considered a public infrastructure service, not a social service. Social services are not at all the same as police, fire, rescue, roads, sanitation et al.
@kmg501 first you're saying that "the answer" is less government. Now you're all in love with public libraries.
Slow down there, Bernie Sanders.
My "brand of lightweight sophistry" isn't working on you, eh? Should I switch to your brand of convoluted sophistry? We could compare esoteric references and share links. Sounds like the most fun anyone could have on YouTube. I'll go first : check out this important link :
Just as I thought, you either don't have an ability for intellectual honesty or realize that such results in a loss for you platform and so you run around making noise & distractions as people always do when they don't have a factual argument or sufficiently well grounded theoretical or historical argument.
@kmg501 No, I have an argument. My argument is that your blanket statement that less government is always the solution is a stupid one. The banking crisis was caused in part by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley act, which reversed Glass-Steagall and effectively deregulated banking to the point where banks became involved in gambling schemes. Glass-Steagall was enacted because we had a similar banking crisis earlier in the century that was caused in part by deregulation.
You're right to point those out as part of the problem but they were not drivers of the problem. They were merely the safety barriers taken away. The source of the problem is as I stated earlier. The Federal Reserve creating cheap debt currency and totally out of control GSE's, both were fueling the feeding frenzy in their own way.
And my argument is not "always less govt". My argument is that govt needs to be constitutional, small and tightly focused.
@kmg501 I'm less concerned with how big or small the government is than I am with my return on investment. I agree that there is a lot of waste in our government. We spend more on our military than every other country combined. We could cut a lot of wasteful spending if we stopped dropping bombs on people every day. We could cut a lot of wasteful spending if we'd stop arresting people and putting them in prison for smoking flowers. We'd have a surplus if the ultra-rich were taxed justly.
I agree with two of those areas. The MIC has to be severely curtailed & prohibition as well. However I disagree with progressive income taxation for a number of reasons. IMO a complete gutting of the IRS needs to take place, tax base expanded to everyone working, corp taxes eliminated since in reality they don't pay them and then progressive(light) taxation on consumption & tariffs. ALL subsidies ended.
I could explain my rational on all that but it is consuming to do so.
@kmg501 I think I know where you're coming from. It sounds like your rationale is in line with those of Aaron Russo, Ron Paul, and the like. I understand the gist of it, I think. I don't agree with most of it but I do respect a well-thought out stance and acknowledge that there usually isn't one correct answer in the worlds of politics and policy.
It seems so and apologies if I was offensive earlier. Here is one of the key rationals for my tax position. Our current system breeds captivity, ignorance and family breakdown. I am not at all a corporatist. I am very pro capitalism but unfortunately too many people mistake corporatism for capitalism. I care very much about low & middle income but I see the current (long standing) govt structure as being responsible for our disastrous condition. Both establishment parties to blame.
@kmg501 no, I came in sort of trollish. There's a brand of libertarianism that's been co-opted by the corporatists and it's talking points are finding their way into the collective American consciousness. And I don't think that's an accident.
But I don't mind having a rational conversation with a rational person from time to time.
Thank you & likewise. What we are going through is multi-dimensional transition period which has made political discourse extremely complex. (& obviously vitriolic) I think if not for so many new dynamics in play, we would be better able to transition through this period but I have honest & deep concerns that we are already past a point of no return with a highly likely outcome of serious civil unrest unless we bypass the dividers (honestly..Obama) and talk sanely to each other.
@kmg501 There would be more wealth in our society in general if we made things here still. We used to have import tariffs that prevented manufacturers from going abroad to look for people who had no recourse but to work at sustenance levels or below. Those are blown out and we've been bleeding jobs ever since. A little government intervention would be nice there. Bailing out the banks and hanging the citizenry out to dry was another sap to our societal wealth. Our wealth is impacted at the top.
Believe it or not I agree on tariffs but I would do them in a unique way that would make them mostly non political & automatic based on a point system to be developed. However here is the problem. Enacting tariffs in our current condition is extremely dangerous. We needed to implement a system in the good times.
It is important to look at trade in tiers. Domestic, regional & international. We have way too much restraint & interference on domestic trade & too little on the others.
@kmg501 You're probably right about the danger involved in enacting tariffs right now. Particularly because any enormous overpopulated country that owns our debt and has an up-to-date manufacturing infrastructure (which could be easily converted into a war machine much the way we did with our factories in WWII) could pretty much call the shots as far as tariffs were concerned. Even more so if they were depending on us to buy the stuff they were making.
@kmg501 However, I'm being silly a little because I find the fact that you're so serious about this in the comments section of a YouTube video to be a bit... silly.
@kmg501 but you keep pounding away at that "government bad, private industry good" caveman mantra. The modern robber barons thank you for it, I'm sure.
@arlopickens Left to their own devices, many companies locked fire doors, resulting in death. And not just the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire, but recently in the South in food processing plants How does death by fire benefit society at large?
@kmg501 BULL!!! Seniors couldn't get care, or insurance before Medicare and working stiffs could not afford insurance or routine care from FOR-PROFIT providers. You are totally ignoring the fact that all the non-profits went away in the 70s to 90s
This so called Congressman must be held accountable for his actions here. Nicole, I hope you have a good lawyer. As for the House - he has clearly failed to uphold his oath of office and should be held for perjury.
economic illiterate, if you talk about privatizing and profit motive, then you would think insurance companies would actively compete for business, right? then you brin up the obese 75 year old such as yourself that's obviously a loser for insurance. how about take your voucher and get a lap band, fat ass, quit the happy meals.
@thoughful Actually, thoughtless, the First Amendment allows just what Ms. Sandler was doing. And private security DO count as goons, even if they are off-duty cops. And no, liberals weren't yelling at her to get out of there. This is ALL about politics, thoughtless. This was a POLITICAL gathering. She was well within her rights - rights which were violated. It doesn't take a genius to see that - even if you can't.

@RadioSilversmith So if someone walks into a movie theater and starts screaming, they can't be thrown out because it violates their first amendment rights? What if a kid starts screaming at his teacher? Does the teacher not have the right to remove him from the class? She was being disruptive. People were there to listen and learn. It wasn't a free for all. She treated it like one and was removed. Go watch the other videos of this. The ENTIRE audience was yelling at her to shut up.
@Doogla4485 Nowhere did I say any of the idiotic ramblings you're spewing. Constituents have the right to address their elected officials, with their grievances, and those officials have the RESPONSIBILITY to answer to their constituents. That you choose to be obtuse about the situation, and throw out a completely unrelated tangent merely proves you're not actually willing to address the issue seriously.
These type of false equivalencies might fly among you and your buddies Doogla, but under 1st Amend. law, what Ms. Sandler was doing is the highest form of protected speech, i.e., Core Political Speech, and therefore not in the least comparable to the examples of unprotected speech you cite. No one has an inherent right to yell anything in a private event at a private theatre nor do school children have the same constitutional rights they'd enjoy outside school.
@RadioSilversmith It wasn't private security. According rto Nicole it was a Fort Laudersale city cop and he left her handcuffed in teh back of a police car alone while he went back to the event. why is a city police officer doing that?
And the police officer was pulling her out of the aisle as she was voluntarily LEAVING the event. He touched her, pushed and pulled her from the moment he arrived. Very, very inappropriate and he did so after she told him to stop -- repeatedly.
@Katya67 I work with Nicole, Katya. There were both kinds of security there, according to her. And yes, the police officer was abusive with her, needlessly. No argument there.
The City of Fort Lauderdale should be investigating this. I hope Nicole has filed an administrative claim with the City of Fort Lauderdale and is seeking counsel to sue the church, Miss West (now that we know how they skewed the town hall process) and the City of Fort Lauderdale.
@RadioSilversmith I see -- but the guy in the lavender shirt had no identifying apparel or badge. How was Nicole (or anyone) supposed to know he had some authority to have her arrested for being at her Congressional Rep's town hall?? Even then she left when he summoned her. She picked up her bag, left her seat etc. and I can tell you as a woman of a certain age -- that means you are LEAVING this MESS!!!
You just know Roboconservative Allen West is the type who will get into embarrassing sex scandal that will cut short his political career like all the other hypocrites with their phony values. Again, why is life under Obama more like Nazi Germany as he picks his butt and does nothing about the fascists forcing their agenda down our throats?
Can you say "brown shirts"? This is pretty sick but more than that it's plain scary. More and more our country resembles Germany of the 1920's. When a citizen can be arrested for simply asking a question at a "town hall" meeting we are more than half way there. This is the sixties on steroids!
@Doogla4485 Oh sure, & you would probably follow a herd of sheep heading over a cliff because it sounded exciting & all the other sheep were doing it. It takes courage to go against the current speaking truth to power!
Dissent is patriotic, fake patriotism is the tea party & corporatism.
@TheSashacat It takes immaturity to disrupt a town hall meeting. Why are you trying to bring politics into this? This is not about the tea party. The woman made a disruption, she was warned, and then she was escorted out. She resisted, so she was arrested. Why is this a problem?
@Doogla4485 Immaturity is not grounds for arrest. In this country at a town hall meeting, citizens have a right to question or rebutt their representatives who work for us I might add! This is still a democracy.
@TheSashacat She wasn't arrested for the disturbance. She was thrown out for the disturbance. She was arrested for resisting an officer. There is video of this.
@Doogla4485 You haven't watched the video.
@TheSashacat Ooh, we're back to the dissent is patriotism screed huh? Unless of course you dissent from the views of the president, then you’re a racist.
One more thing, the left has the presidency and the senate, and up until the midterm they had the house too, and have tried at every turn to increase the power of the state.
@Doogla4485 BULL!! If the whole placeis full of Teahadist sycophants it makes them right? You haven't watched the video. Sandler wasn't disruptive and she left when the huge Westie crybaby told her to and well before the cop ever got there. Then the cop -- what is a city cop doing here? -- starting pulling her around AS SHE WAS LEAVING .
Yeah you have a right to free speech but you don’t have right to disrupt a public meeting. She wasn’t having a back and forth she was just standing there screaming. The world doesn’t revolve around Nicole. Other people came to hear what the man had to say, but couldn’t because this self-important nobody had to be the center of attention. When the cops tell you to leave you don't get to saunter out at your own pace. Be civilized or be incarcerated
@gluton4beer BULL!! You haven't watched the video. Sandler wasn't disruptive and she left when the huge Westie crybaby told her to and well before the cop ever got there. And how do vouchers solve the fee-for-service problem? They don't, of course. West is a liar, plain and simple. He has lied before and he will lie again. Just google his name and you can verify this for yourself.
So I suppose it would have been more respectful to sit quietly since she wasn't allowed to submit a pre-screened question? Ms. Sandler's a constituent and her question is legitimate. It's far more disrespectful for an elected official to not only refuse to answer a constituent's legitimate question but then have security escort her from of the building. Why not answer the question Brian?
@Katya67 Allen West is no coward and is a man who stands up for what he believes is right, he may not like what you say or how you judge him but by god he will willingly lay his life on the line for you to say it. That man happens to be a friend of mine and i served with him in the army..he's a rarity in that congress. He's honest..if you dont like it..well that's your choice..
@Paladin1441 You apparently have a different definition for "coward" and "cowardice" than Webster does. I.E. "a person who lacks courage in facing danger, difficulty, opposition, pain, etc.; a timid or easily intimidated person."
@Paladin1441 West isn't honest. And he can't handle discussing his lies with his constituents. His staff lied about how questions are accepted in his "town hall" formats and he has attempted to sanitize his real purposes. He says on one hand his vote is to save Medicare and in another he says Medicare will destroy America. He said he was "your progressive congressman..." in Fort Lauderdale which is an absolute lie.
Great work. Their actions truly do speak louder than words...anyone who thinks these bagger elected morons represent the Constitution and Free Speech should watch this vid.
@Doogla4485 Get your facts straight. She was not resisting. I saw the other video. The fascist pig was pushing her. She turned and told him to stop. That is when he arrested her.
How was her safety at risk? Security was summoned almost immediately after she spoke up. She was escorted out to silence her, period. And now American citizens are "idiots" for resisting being placed under arrest for exercising their 1st Amendment rights? The real idiot is any person who isn't horrified by this video.
@jlo1226 This isn't the entire video. There was a rational way to voice her opinion, and she didn't use it. She decided to be obnoxious and get everyone around her riled up. You don't get an entire crowd booing at you and then get to stay where you are. It's a liability issue. It happens at ball games all the time when a fan of the away team goes and antagonizes the home fans. You don't get to do that. In the rest of the video you can see the woman resisting the police officer and being arrested
What was the "rational way"? The questions were pre-screened, so if West wouldn't answer her logical follow-up as we see in this video, why the hell would his handlers allow her to ask the question via the "rational" method? This is a townhall meeting. Nicole was exercising core political speech, which is the most protected form of speech under our 1st Amend. Whether or not she was "disruptive" is immaterial. And comparing this to a private event is, again, completely illogical.
@jlo1226 Look for videos of this posted by people besides her. She was acting out long before this outburst. Other videos shows the man walking up and giving her a warning. So she already had security's attention before this video even started.
So what? You're just not seeing the forest for the trees here. On of our most sacred and protected rights in this country is to exercise core political speech in a public forum. This was a townhall meeting, held ostensibly to discuss public policy proposals (i.e., politics). Ms. Sandler was barred by security forces from exercising that right. But you think that's okay so long as she was "warned" that she was making people uncomfortable expressing an opposing opinion to Mr. West?
Wow, that's one hell of a burden you require the State to meet before they can interfere with a citizen's 1st Amend. rights. I prefer the Constitution's interpretation, thankyouverymuch.
How about all the other people boo-ing.. They have no idea what they are being sucked in to.Who do they think is going to stick up for them when they are in need.
@lifejunkie2u - that's the truth right there.....people vote your pocket book because your politicians are underwritten by the super wealthy and they don't give a rats ass about you - its the haves vs. the have nots - it always has been and always will be - all the rest of it is political theater to divide and conquer - anyone making less than $250,000.00 a year and voting republican is a dupe, fooled by flag waving, sloganeering, or fear. Capitalism does not = Democracy.

Katya67 10 months ago
@Katya67 There is an arrangement for senior citizens right now. There is medicare! And nothing stops you of creating an organisation who supports people with their medical bills. You can give all your money to it!
Why do you liberals see the government as the solution for every problem?
You only create dependence of big government and take all individual responsibility away of people. You're way closer to fascism as the smalll government, libertarian like views of Allen West.
marsnr1 10 months ago
@marsnr1 Did Nicole throw someone out of a meeting? No! West's goons told her to leave she did and in the process she was cuffed and arrested for failing to do what SHE WAS DOING!!
That is fascism!
Katya67 10 months ago
@Katya67
An arrest of a hysterical woman has nothing to do with facism.

...I do however want to look at this logically.
TravisVadon 10 months ago
@TravisVadon Clinton who? What Clinton is in Congress?
How do the privatization crowd explain that no senior citizen could even buy ANY health insurance before Medicare was passed into law?
Katya67 10 months ago
@Katya67 Hey, hope your still fighting the fight. I'm not on either side... I can't be, I don't have all the facts yet. I found the Bill Clinton clip: watch?v=kP3cQDitQEU I was just pointing out that it's not just the Republicans who kick people out of town hall meetings. I don't doubt that the privatized group made it impossible for older folks to get care... their all for the profit and not for the care. Whatever happens, I hope people are happier and healthier than they are now.

@swetty4020
I thoroughly enjoy how you describe behavior that easily fits the definition of torture of a POW under the anti-torture treaties signed by the US, but then dismiss anyone calling it torture with some strained qualification that would only make sense to a 13 year old adolescent male.
jlo1226 10 months ago 2
@jlo1226 He did what he had to do when he felt the lives of the troops he was in command of were being compromised. The arm-chair quarterbacking is futile. He immediately went to his superior, set down his side-arm and went thru the process. It led to an honorable discharge with full benefits that he earned for his service to his country. I suppose you'd rather some American soldiers got ambushed and killed because he ignored his trained instincts. I commend him, as do most citizens.
swetty4020 10 months ago
@swetty4020 Who says? Allena ?? Who authorized Allena to detain that Iraqi citizen she tortured? there was no "honorable discharge", West was Article 15-ed and he retired straight after so we could pay him a monthly nut, health care for West and partial payment for her family. Then she could go work for some fascist private contractor in Afghanistan for the BIG BUCKS for 2 years !!!!!!!!
Katya67 10 months ago
@swetty4020
It looks to me like Allena accessed a disciplinary procedure not even available above the rank of Captain although I may be wrong. Katya67 10 months ago
@swetty4020
Most thought no one should be punished for the Mai Lai Massacre too, what's your point?
jlo1226 10 months ago
@jlo1226 Torture, is torture, is torture. She got ZERO actionable information and did a huge disservice to her company -- stained forever!! That is why she retired -- disgraced.

RayJuniorShow 10 months ago
@RayJuniorShow Governement ACTUALLY does do it better than the private market. 4% vs. 12% overhewad Medicare vs. Private Insureres and the privates don 't insure any seniors over 65 unless sthey have Medicare. What does that tell you?
We used to feed soldiers on $4 a day. Now it costs us $30 a day through "Private Contractors'. All of that mushroomed during Bushie II and you can't tell me it hasn't had a huge impact on the deficits.

Sorry Sandler but you're obviously an economic illiterate. Sorry if you checked the economic history with NBER, prior to the LBJ legislation of 1965, blue collar workers could afford routine care and insurance.

Get the government out of my skyscrapers!
arlopickens 10 months ago
@arlopickens

God damn public libraries.

Pointless to waste time continuing.
-
kmg501 10 months ago
@kmg501 No, I have an argument. My argument is that your blanket statement that less government is always the solution is a stupid one. The banking crisis was caused in part by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley act, which reversed Glass-Steagall and effectively deregulated banking to the point where banks became involved in gambling schemes. Glass-Steagall was enacted because we had a similar banking crisis earlier in the century that was caused in part by deregulation.
arlopickens 10 months ago
@arlopickens
-
kmg501 10 months ago
@kmg501 I'm less concerned with how big or small the government is than I am with my return on investment. I agree that there is a lot of waste in our government. We spend more on our military than every other country combined. We could cut a lot of wasteful spending if we stopped dropping bombs on people every day. We could cut a lot of wasteful spending if we'd stop arresting people and putting them in prison for smoking flowers. We'd have a surplus if the ultra-rich were taxed justly.
arlopickens 10 months ago
@arlopickens
-
kmg501 10 months ago
@kmg501 I think I know where you're coming from. It sounds like your rationale is in line with those of Aaron Russo, Ron Paul, and the like. I understand the gist of it, I think. I don't agree with most of it but I do respect a well-thought out stance and acknowledge that there usually isn't one correct answer in the worlds of politics and policy.
Wow, this is ending with civility, huh?

@arlopickens
Both establishment parties to blame.
kmg501 10 months ago
@kmg501 no, I came in sort of trollish. There's a brand of libertarianism that's been co-opted by the corporatists and it's talking points are finding their way into the collective American consciousness. And I don't think that's an accident.
But I don't mind having a rational conversation with a rational person from time to time.
arlopickens 10 months ago
@arlopickens

@kmg501 your comment has to be the sanest, most mature, and most thoughtful comment I've ever encountered on YouTube.
Dang.
arlopickens 10 months ago
@kmg501 There would be more wealth in our society in general if we made things here still. We used to have import tariffs that prevented manufacturers from going abroad to look for people who had no recourse but to work at sustenance levels or below. Those are blown out and we've been bleeding jobs ever since. A little government intervention would be nice there. Bailing out the banks and hanging the citizenry out to dry was another sap to our societal wealth. Our wealth is impacted at the top.
arlopickens 10 months ago
@arlopickens
-
kmg501 10 months ago
@kmg501 You're probably right about the danger involved in enacting tariffs right now. Particularly because any enormous overpopulated country that owns our debt and has an up-to-date manufacturing infrastructure (which could be easily converted into a war machine much the way we did with our factories in WWII) could pretty much call the shots as far as tariffs were concerned. Even more so if they were depending on us to buy the stuff they were making.
Hypothetically speaking, of course.
arlopickens 10 months ago
@kmg501 However, I'm being silly a little because I find the fact that you're so serious about this in the comments section of a YouTube video to be a bit... silly.

Doogla4485 10 months ago
@Doogla4485 Nowhere did I say any of the idiotic ramblings you're spewing. Constituents have the right to address their elected officials, with their grievances, and those officials have the RESPONSIBILITY to answer to their constituents. That you choose to be obtuse about the situation, and throw out a completely unrelated tangent merely proves you're not actually willing to address the issue seriously.
RadioSilversmith 10 months ago
@Doogla4485
These type of false equivalencies might fly among you and your buddies Doogla, but under 1st Amend. law, what Ms. Sandler was doing is the highest form of protected speech, i.e., Core Political Speech, and therefore not in the least comparable to the examples of unprotected speech you cite. No one has an inherent right to yell anything in a private event at a private theatre nor do school children have the same constitutional rights they'd enjoy outside school.
jlo1226 10 months ago
@RadioSilversmith It wasn't private security. According rto Nicole it was a Fort Laudersale city cop and he left her handcuffed in teh back of a police car alone while he went back to the event. why is a city police officer doing that?
And the police officer was pulling her out of the aisle as she was voluntarily LEAVING the event. He touched her, pushed and pulled her from the moment he arrived. Very, very inappropriate and he did so after she told him to stop -- repeatedly.
Katya67 10 months ago
@Katya67 I work with Nicole, Katya. There were both kinds of security there, according to her. And yes, the police officer was abusive with her, needlessly. No argument there.
RadioSilversmith 10 months ago
@RadioSilversmith Right on!!! Unforgivable!!
The City of Fort Lauderdale should be investigating this. I hope Nicole has filed an administrative claim with the City of Fort Lauderdale and is seeking counsel to sue the church, Miss West (now that we know how they skewed the town hall process) and the City of Fort Lauderdale.
Katya67 10 months ago
@RadioSilversmith I see -- but the guy in the lavender shirt had no identifying apparel or badge. How was Nicole (or anyone) supposed to know he had some authority to have her arrested for being at her Congressional Rep's town hall?? Even then she left when he summoned her. She picked up her bag, left her seat etc. and I can tell you as a woman of a certain age -- that means you are LEAVING this MESS!!!
Katya67 10 months ago
You just know Roboconservative Allen West is the type who will get into embarrassing sex scandal that will cut short his political career like all the other hypocrites with their phony values.

TheSashacat 10 months ago
@TheSashacat It takes immaturity to disrupt a town hall meeting. Why are you trying to bring politics into this? This is not about the tea party. The woman made a disruption, she was warned, and then she was escorted out. She resisted, so she was arrested. Why is this a problem?
Doogla4485 10 months ago
@Doogla4485 Immaturity is not grounds for arrest. In this country at a town hall meeting, citizens have a right to question or rebutt their representatives who work for us I might add! This is still a democracy.
TheSashacat 10 months ago
@TheSashacat She wasn't arrested for the disturbance. She was thrown out for the disturbance. She was arrested for resisting an officer. There is video of this.
Doogla4485 10 months ago
@Doogla4485 You haven't watched the video.
Katya67 10 months ago
@TheSashacat Ooh, we're back to the dissent is patriotism screed huh? Unless of course you dissent from the views of the president, then you’re a racist.
One more thing, the left has the presidency and the senate, and up until the midterm they had the house too, and have tried at every turn to increase the power of the state.
I hate to break it to you but you are the power.

Katya67 10 months ago
Yeah you have a right to free speech but you don’t have right to disrupt a public meeting. She wasn’t having a back and forth she was just standing there screaming. The world doesn’t revolve around Nicole. Other people came to hear what the man had to say, but couldn’t because this self-important nobody had to be the center of attention. When the cops tell you to leave you don't get to saunter out at your own pace. Be civilized or be incarcerated

brian38383838 10 months ago
@brian38383838

That man happens to be a friend of mine and i served with him in the army..he's a rarity in that congress. He's honest..if you dont like it..well that's your choice..
Paladin1441 10 months ago
@Paladin1441 You apparently have a different definition for "coward" and "cowardice" than Webster does. I.E. "a person who lacks courage in facing danger, difficulty, opposition, pain, etc.; a timid or easily intimidated person."
Katya67 10 months ago
@Paladin1441 West isn't honest. And he can't handle discussing his lies with his constituents. His staff lied about how questions are accepted in his "town hall" formats and he has attempted to sanitize his real purposes. He says on one hand his vote is to save Medicare and in another he says Medicare will destroy America. He said he was "your progressive congressman..." in Fort Lauderdale which is an absolute lie.
Katya67 10 months ago

Why doesn't Rep. Allen West LIVE IN HIS DISTRICT?

@RawFoodKevin I saw it too. You don't place your hands on a police officer.
Doogla4485 10 months ago
@Doogla4485
How was her safety at risk? Security was summoned almost immediately after she spoke up. She was escorted out to silence her, period. And now American citizens are "idiots" for resisting being placed under arrest for exercising their 1st Amendment rights? The real idiot is any person who isn't horrified by this video.
jlo1226 10 months ago
@jlo1226 This isn't the entire video. There was a rational way to voice her opinion, and she didn't use it. She decided to be obnoxious and get everyone around her riled up. You don't get an entire crowd booing at you and then get to stay where you are. It's a liability issue. It happens at ball games all the time when a fan of the away team goes and antagonizes the home fans. You don't get to do that. In the rest of the video you can see the woman resisting the police officer and being arrested
Doogla4485 10 months ago
@Doogla4485
And comparing this to a private event is, again, completely illogical.
jlo1226 10 months ago
@jlo1226 Look for videos of this posted by people besides her. She was acting out long before this outburst. Other videos shows the man walking up and giving her a warning. So she already had security's attention before this video even started.
Doogla4485 10 months ago
@Doogla4485
West?
jlo1226 10 months ago
@jlo1226 She was being disruptive and counter productive.
Doogla4485 10 months ago
