  • David Bowie and Brian Eno wrote this song. Trent did the remix of the song for the radio/single version and added some backing vocals.

  • it was NOT co-written

  • is this the molson ampitheater?

  • @crephotos Yes, the Virgin Festival.

  • im more afraid of koreans

  • This ROCKS! Two musical legends! Awesome! No one but Trent could attempt this!!

  • Bowie is better.

  • reznor is one of my favorite musical geniuses of all time. same intensity even after all these years.

  • Trent Reznor is a very influential artist. This guy is a true BRAIN in rock music with original style and sound. He is respected by all - even by artists like Gabriel and Bowie for example. Rock on !

  • Great version! It is in fact a cover, Trent did not co-write this song with Bowie, but he did remix it for the single version. I love seeing Trent play synth at the end.

  • at 4.04 does he say god is an american... named bill

  • @zero0ism if this song was written in '95 then he's talking about clinton

  • Such a great song! Such a great performance! Thanks for posting it!

  • I am afraid of Trent Reznor.

  • Love, love, love this. One hero covering another. Too perfect.

  • it was a co-written song NOT a cover

  • @1yellowapple

Nope. Written by Bowie for the Earthlings album. Reznor remixed it, and they made the video together.

  • @1yellowapple yes, co-written ;d

Bowie wrote it with Eno ; ]

Reznor only produced remix for video.

  • @1yellowapple no, the song was written by David Bowie and Brian Eno, during the sessions of 1.Outside (1994-95), and then published in Earthling in 1997. Trent Reznor made a remix of the song, which was released as a single (and videoclip). So this is a cover, actually.

  • @Inquisitore88 honestly, if that is true, i never knew that.

  • @1yellowapple it IS a cover. brian eno and bowie wrote this song.

  • @1yellowapple Technically, you are wrong. The original song was written by bowie and eno. Reznor later remixed it. Oh yeah, I was at this show.

  • @1yellowapple, with Brian Eno not Trent/NIN

  • @1yellowapple Wrong. It is a David Bowie song, written by Bowie and Brian Eno, from the album Earthling. Trent did some remixes, found on the CD single.

  • Nin is so over the top with their sound... I almost thought that this was a studio recording

  • Trent Reznor is just awe inspiring.

  • I can see myself in this video. :) :) :) Best show I've ever been to!

  • Has Reznor been working out? Look at his old pics and compare him to today..dude is bulikng up!

  • This is amazing.

  • i want to start the pole shift survival group or join the existing one.

  • best concert i've ever been to.

  • @jedisid - I can honestly say that about every single NIN show I've ever been to. No other music artist on Earth can even come close.

  • @S4BIO NIN is amazing! Reznor is very talented and love how he is making a change in the world's music industry forever!

  • I had the best experience meeting NIN at the Austin, TX show on their last tour. Very cool that Trent Reznor had signed my tank top on my belly when I was 7 months pregnant! He said that I was the 1st pregnant woman that he had ever signed on the belly! Thought I would share my experience with NIN.

  • @S4BIO How about Justin Bieber?

  • @mathijssegers Dude, shut the fuck up. Don't even mention that name in a Nine Inch Nails video.

  • @Imupoffathatthing Are you mad bro?

  • @mathijssegers I poop you in tha face.

  • What bass effect pedal is he using.. i always thought it was Synth... word

  • wiki says "The song, co-written by Bowie and Brian Eno"

"A Taxi Driver-influenced music video was produced for the "I'm Afraid of Americans (V1)" remix, starring David Bowie and Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor. "

  • I don't think this is a cover.... Didn't Dave and Trent co-write it?

  • @hotrocking correctamundo! If you have the studio version you can hear Trent back Dave in "No one needs anyone part" and he's also backing Dave on the chorus. I believe the song itself though was written by Trent. I could be wrong though.

  • @hotrocking Kinda the same way they do with All The Young Dudes. They says David Bowie is covering Mott The Hoople when in reality, David Bowie wrote All The Young Dudes for Mott The Hoople and then started performing it himself a few years later.

  • @hotrocking on my David Bowied Cd it says it´s written by David Bowie, remixed by NIN.

  • @trentik Yeah. Single version was remixed by Reznor. And not your usual remix - all the parts other than the vocal were totally rerecorded (because there was never a song that needed remixing more than that original version. Bowie's live treatment of it owed a hell of a lot to the NIN version.

  • oh wow. this gave me goose bumps. AWESOME. :D
