red is when you first plug it in...green in when it is on...yellow is off ......blue illumation is when you put a disk in........the newest update makes ihe blue illumation stay on....

@mrwebcamguy100 I still having the nintendo wii, but I don't play it anymore because it can't be jailbroken. 4.3u can't jailbreak unless you have an specific original game. (SSBB).

Just go to the wii, and send a message to your hotmail account or any other (like Gmail), and then reply to the Wii. After 3 minutes you'll get the blue light. It takes too long, I don't know why. :(

The blue light in the disc slot illuminates briefly when the console is turned on and pulsates when new data is received through WiiConnect24. After the update that includes System Menu 3.0, the disc slot light activates whenever a Wii disc is inserted or ejected. When there is no WiiConnect24 information, the light stays off.

you can't keep it on. you have to be connected to WiiConnect24, and someone has to send you a text message.

omg mine wont glow i went through all the settings trying to see if it was off or somthing and i have unread mail but it wont glow and now my wii has deleted all the stuff i done on it. what shoul i do and i think it might be doing this because my friend knocked it over 5 times and 1 of them was purposly and they really pissed me off.

is it still under warranty? even if your friend did knock it over, dont say nothing to them. Just say it broke on its own and have them fix it.

I sold my Wii so I don't really remember but I believe red is standby. It only turns orange when a msg is received I believe. I'm not 100% sure though.

Are you pushing and holding the power button on the console to turn it off? If so, then that is a complete shut-down. Press it once briefly to put in standby mode, the power light will be orange for standby mode. Pressing the power button on the remote once briefly will also put it into standby mode.

Also make sure you have the WiiConnect24 to be on in the settings menu. Hope these suggestions help!

Did you connect to the internet? Someone has to send you a message for your blue light to go on. Also, you have to turn it on. Go to options in the Wii Menu there is a option there for you to turn it on.

no battery, it is plugged in now but is OFF, the blue thing lights briefly when the cd is inserted then goes away however when u receive a email it lights until u read the msg
