this was the very sad ending bungie came up with but sense the halo endings have been leaning toward depressing maby master chief dies in halo 4 who knows?
The only way Noble Six could have possibly have gotten off Reach is if he somehow managed to hijack a small Covenant ship capable of slipspace jumps. But it seems those were out of his reach. Canon-wise the Covenant appearantly eventually resorted to artillery and airstrikes to take Noble Six out because he just kept on killing their infantry. (Trivia: EXACTLY what happened to the real spartans in Thermopylae. The Persians resorted to mass archer/javelin attacks to kill those 300.)
just a thought but try to mute this video and search on youtube FF7 crisis core "the price of freedom" ost on another tab/window and play this video and the ost video at the same time.thumbs up/down this comment I don't care
Stupid ending. All that ridiculous patriotic crap made me sick. It stings like a huge pile of shit. Disgusting. Why don't this Noble Six at least try to escape? In the mountains for example or something like that. I heard that Six is some kind of super extra skilled survivalist, lone wolf and so on. Above all he/she fell from orbit and survived! I just don't see any reason why Six just have to die. Cursed script writers.
Six wasn't a survivalist. He/she was a "hyper lethal" assassin - which will only get you so far when you're surrounded by millions of angry, human-hating aliens. Besides, Six was a SPARTAN-III - which are generally weaker and cheaper than the SPARTAN-IIs.
@MisterRandom2 True, Noble Six was a lone wolf assassin that was sent to take out rebel militias and insurgent factions while the rest of the SPARTAN-II and SPARTAN-III units focused on the Covenant.
But not even a SPARTAN-III with years of experience fighting solo can get off reach alone when surrounded by hundreds or thousands of Covenant and a planetwide glassing only hours away. I think that's why he stood so camely at the beginning of this mission, he knew he was going to die there.
@Pfudfyr Even if he did survive the dagger attack and move on, he would've died anyway from the glassing. Remember that glassing renders a planet unlivable and he would've died anyway from oxygen deprivation or something. I don't even think he died by that elite. I think he died from the ensuing glassing.
@Mohanned40 : there were other survivors even after Reach was glassed....after destroying Halo's Installation 04 , Master Chief returned to Reach to see what happened to the planet after Pillar of Autmn left!
@reznov316 You are right, Assuming that noble 6 survived the elite's dagger and the glassing, he might have managed to get to castle base along with Dr. Halsey. If he indeed had enough strength to head to Castle base, heal up, and go back to the battlefield, that might explain why many have claimed that he has died. (Maybe he just fought on and later went into hiding or something.)
@Mohanned40 LOL! nice theory but he really died man in canon. And you can see in the vid , he was bleeding like a smashed watermelon , no amount of biofoam would have had helped him. And some have correctly speculated that , after all your healthbars are over ; 'canon-wise' , 6 still goes on fighting untill they have to resort to sending their most elite units to kill him (thats why wherever you die , the ending scene still takes place at the same location).
@reznov316 Btw CastleBase would be too far to reach for him considering the glassing threats and the dread elite and brute presence ... and Happy new year!
there will me another time ... it made me cry

@bannakingification Halo 4 is a new trilogy, so if master chief dies, he will die in Halo 6.

The ending reminds me of the death of Zack Fair in FF7 Crisis Core. Well, at least Noble 6 was able to fend the elites off when he was dying.
