  • Sir, This is amazing !

  • Awesome! Thanks man! Ive seen some of your videos before actually! Great!

  • thank's bro

  • thanks for sharing,...

    applause

  • Really useful! Thanks a lot!

  • I love this lesson, but the sad thing is that Eric Johnson is a very underrated guitar player. I can´t understand why people prefer listening to shitty pop music instead of his music.

  • This was extremely educational and helpful. Thank you!

  • @xPanDaemonx Thanks a lot! :)

  • These videos are actually really good. Most online lessons suck, but this does a more than adequate job. I've loved ej ever since I heard him. He's an incredible player. You dissect his style very well! Thanks for the lesson. I learned a lot. (:

  • at the end of the first intro how does the D# chord fit in if it isn't in the Cmaj harmony?

  • Very nice lesson thanks a lot !!!!!!

  • Sounds like Enya.

  • This was very helpfull. Really got me thinking.

    Now on to PT.2

    Thanks

  • Outstanding.

  • "just keep following a long.." yeah, sure, i'll do that.... A bit quick for a lesson to do 5 different shapes and notes in under 20 seconds. Would be much easier to catch something from the lesson if one knew where one's fingers should be. You should say which finger goes on which fret on what string and give the viewer time to find the position. Don't know if I'm the only one but I don't like to pause the video every 2 seconds to see what i should do.

  • @Kaijisss Have you tried the TAB? The link is in the video's description.

  • @Kaijisss Do a little homework of your own, punkazz! It's a free lesson for Chrissakes! U're lucky Carl is so polite towards U. Arrogant and pompous.. who raised U?

  • @smkonwater23 I don't usually reply to comments like yours, but WOW! Calling me all those things for expressing my opinion. These are new chords to me as I've only been playing for about six months and I've been trying to do "my homework". My question is, why would anyone watch a lesson if one knew this stuff already. I watched it thought it was too quick and said basically that it's a bit fast, could you slow down. Also I think that looking at a seperate tab defeats the purpose of a vid. lesson

  • @Kaijisss That's like saying a music teacher should just talk without giving you sheet music to actually play to. The TABS show you the notes. The video shows you the rhythm, technique, and philosophy of why you're playing what you're playing.

And anyway, you can always pause and rewind. The video and TAB supplement each other. Not everyone can learn either way, so he provides both ways.

  • @smkonwater23 Oh, yeah. Also thats very nice and polite behaviour from you too. I didn't get much out of the lesson you might have. I don't know. No need to get pissed off about me saying how i felt about the lesson. Anyway, enjoy your life sir.

  • @Kaijisss Learn notes, and then you'll catch notes on frets with one simple scale - ABCDEFGABCDEFGABC... If you want catch triad chords just chose A and then every other nore A-C-D, B-D-F,C-E-G, etc. :) this is simple.

  • @Kaijisss maybe we should all chip in and get you a bib and baby spoon.....

  • @Kaijisss If you know the theory behind it, it would be much easier to follow. ;)

  • @toraten1 Sure do, just check out the video description for the link. :)

  • impressive i really like it

  • hejj nice video!! i have a really cool videos check it out!! :)))

  • Thanks for the invite. :) Much apprectiated.

  • Thanks so much for sharing your guitar lessons!

  • wow the sound is verry nice

  • Very impressive tone man!!

I have found that EJ's Guitar Frets are very shiny. What could be the difference between a shiny fret and a non-lustrous fret. Soon I am going to buy a fender and apart from pick-ups, I have been thinking about frets, like EJ's. What do you say buddy??

  • I love this!!!! sublimeee

  • sounds epic good lesson!!

  • nice

  • So yout got my good point man !!

  • thx for your message !

Would you send me guitarbackground to easy title words of Neil young in mp3 ? I make the vocals and some drums and bass and I put it in here and mention you also !! I want especially you playing the cords because I fin u soooo great man !! An honour!!

  • I have been looking for advanced materials for chording for 2011 - to really get my playing to another level. You have provided the perfect set of videos for my study! Thank you !!

  • Can you say something about creating this tone? Thanks in advance.

  • bro, your lessons are awesome

  • @johnnyk7 Thanks a bunch!! Carl...

  • nice this is helpful when i'll increase my level cuz i'm still very begginer

  • i think when he plays the 1st inversion I chord its really functioning as the IV min6 chord

  • Do you come up with those arrangements, because that was amazing.

  • @thejack1212 Hey thanks a lot. Yeah this was my own arrangement and I appreciate the kind comment. I only wish I could write them as good as EJ does. :( Carl..

  • fantastic!!! a real insight into Johnsons style.. 10/10 very valuable thanx.

  • Damn Fine tutorial, lots of food for thought.

    Cheers

  • Well nice lesson, theres a lot of ways to put a chord on the guitar , and Eric sures knows how to set them to create a beutiful music, thanks

  • Awesome as usual! Easy to follow, great tone, nice guitar, clear audio and video, and the lesson was so accurate to the unique style of Eric Johnson :)

  • yeah I almost didn't click on it, but I didn't remember many chords in COD besides maybe couple power chords.

  • great lesson!

  • Another amazing Eric Johnson lesson! It's great to see GuitarLessons365 taking off :)

And I saw Eric live a few weeks ago, second row! I met him afterwards and got his autograph, along with Andy Mckee's and Peppino D'agostino (the openers). They were all great guys and insane musicians!! Can't wait for his new album, and I haven't seen anyone else have his style down as much as you!

    Keep em coming! :)

  • @GibsonGuy15 This group of three is coming to my school soon and I cant wait to see them! Was there a good opportunity to meet them after? Or how did that happen for you? Because I have a few questions for Eric...

  • They're coming to your school??? That's insane, congratulations, that's a once in a lifetime opportunity (unless you go to a music school i guess xD)

Yeah, they did a signing session after, they sat down at a table and everyone got to shake their hand, say hi and what not xD and get their autograph.

IT WAS INSANE they blew my mind haha, enjoy that!

  • Great lesson! Keep 'em comin'

  • You got it *-*

  • Excellent

  • this isn't an easy song, especially when i really had to do a nr2 and were out of toilet paper

  • nice one, Eric Johnson=genius!

  • great lesson

  • great progression to learn! thank you. cheers, joao

  • Always great lessons man. Keep 'em comin'!

  • When I do the triad of the 2nd interval of the major scale (and some others), I often raise the fifth up a half step. It gives it a little more pizazz!

  • i hate this song. i really do. i first heard it off of guitar hero and i was obsessed with getting 100%. i've listened to it so many times. one too many, i think. it's got to the point that when i hear 'Cliffs of Dover' i go insane.

  • @aidenmccloskey Looks like someone didn't watch the video. In face throughout the entire video he doesn't play anything in cliffs of a dover. Judge a video just like you judge a book by its cover.

  • @TruD0G that's right. i guess it's a misleading title, isn't it? maybe i wouldn't have clicked off it, if it wasn't in the title.

  • good but u should really take it off the bridge pu with a strat

  • i'd sell my left nut to play like Eric Johnson

  • @hugmeshootme I have two rightnuts, wanna trade?

  • @seppie1203 shit i have a midle one.....

  • @seppie1203 lmao

  • great lesson, keep 'em coming, your the greatest!

  • SUPER!!!

  • awesome lesson.
