I think your port may be too big... I have 2 type r 12s in a custom box tuned to 48 hz with a m1000 alpine amp and an alpine 9887 head, pushing 149 dbs. so you can still probably get a lot more out of these.

uh no. i suggest all of you do your research ! caps are useless, some installs they help a little but rarely. in short a cap is nothing more then another battery that needs to becharged by the alt and have it all discharged in a burst. i have one froma old install thats why it's in mine but to say your bass hits harder and helps is just blowin smoke up a your ass. get into the real car audio world not best buy's or circuit city's.

cap's are usally for people with more than two subs, but its always safe to have one cause if there is a power isue u wont blow your amp or subs, plus its only like another 50 bucks do y not?

A cap doesn't provide more power, it's designed to 'stiffen' the voltage to the amp, nothing esle. If the current isn't there, a cap won't help. The alternator must have at least 20% more amperage power than the entire vehicle and sound system combined for a cap to be of benefit which is ironically the same requirements for an amp to be efficient.
