Could have been done with a hidden chute that he drops into..The "witneses" would all have to be in on it. The reason he uses the bandana is that it will take more time to drop. Basic lasws of physics say that two objects dropped at the same time would hit the ground at the same time barring any outside effects...the bandana is slowed by friction and maybe even an updraft. 14 seconds. giving criss enough time to slide down or do a quick repell down the stairwell...
