How the hell do you guys do this to these games?

@Punisher33100 There are texture files within the game that can be extracted by either getting the filenames off of another mod or using a Rice's plugin for a N64 emulator that will dump the files in a folder as you play. From there you can edit your own versions of the textures or create new ones from scratch. This mod in particular was done using both Toad's Tool (a model/texture viewer/editor for Mario 64) and a standard HiRes texture pack. The only way I know of to run a HiRes texture pack..

...is to run it through Rice's plugin. The Toad's Tool part for this mod however is just an extended ROM with about a third of the textures you see in this video implemented. Right now though the mod is offline until someone revives it for me. If they ever will.

tl;dr: Toad's Tool was used to make the ROM and the rest was done by dumping and changing the texture files.

I think there's a program to edit the game's 3D models, I recomend using it on mario and everything else.

oh you dont, toads tool doesnt have all the textures. what you can do if ur interested in making a hack, use our mod as a base and find the textures u want to edit and edit them and save them as we saved them and they will work
