ive always wanted to know how you get to the orange button. i have a hard time pressing the blue button, let alone the orange

First of all, you have four fingers--use all four. That'll get you through Easy and Medium.

For Hard and Expert, you'll need to learn to slide your hand up and down the neck as needed to reach the button you can't hit. Sometimes you will want your hand on green-blue, other times on red-orange. It depends on the song. And practice. A lot. You will need to build up hand speed to cover the rapid chord changes on harder songs.

What I do when playing Expert and hard is to put my first finger on red so I have a small stretch to green but I can get all the others. On the harder difficulties there are generally less green notes.
