singing this in my "novus ordo" seminary for All Soul's already learning it in english, set to the chant tune. if we progress fast enough in doing it well we may move to Latin...baby steps. point being, not ALL NO Catholics have forgotten tradition.
Although this translation is not entirely literal and modified to fit the rhyme and meter, it is still rather close to the official translation. Very good, thanks for posting, what shame latin is still not returned to our churches

the F's in place of the S's is the way the words were spelled back in the days of old. The latest uses of this spelling were I believe colonial times, but it reaches far back into medieval Europe.
I hae a question about the placement of what appears in the video to be f s in places where I believed there where s' s. could someone explain that to me. is it just Medevil translation or something different?
Beautiful sound of the monks. Thanx mate for putting on the Latin and English, it makes a hell of a difference being able to understand what is being sung.

@Winaska FSSPX is the full actual acronym of the SSPX. They are the priestly fraternity of st. pius x (fraternitas sacerdotalis sancti pii x).
The FSSP is the priestly fraternity of st. peter (fraternitas sacerdotalis sancti petri).

The visible difference between letters "f" and "s" is the longer crossbar on the "f".

in fraktur-fonts the "s" in a word looks very much like "f".

I've read that there are many translations of Dies Irae. Thanks for this traslation, it's very helpful.

"Quacking" should be "quaking", I believe.
But otherwise, fantastic translation, thank you for this. It's beautiful. :)
