Actually I truly don't know the laws but it would make sense that if somebody were to be trespassing and you accidentally injured them or if they hurt themselves on PRIVATE property, that they wouldn't have anybody to point their fingers at. however it would make sense if that was for a commercial property and neglect was the cause of injury. laws do differ from state to state though.

A 223 with a muzzle break (why you'd even bother is beyond me) would kick right around the level of a 22 mag without one though.

Most 50 cal rifles REQUIRE a muzzle break...it can dislocate your shoulder if the rifle is to light and no muzzle break is preset.

Sure there's violence in Mexico, but less. Actually far less in every other country of the world, and most every other country also has declared guns illegal. They forced the banks to give out sub prime loans to people the banks new could not pay them back.

Gun control should be this: Everyone has the right to own a SIDEARM and keep it in there home or business to protect themselves if necessary. No way should people be allowed to own sub machine guns, 50 cal rifle, AK-74s, carbines, etc.
This of course excepts law enforcement.

If we want to interpret things your way, then one could argue that the gov. preventing you from owning a laser-guided rocket launcher is unconstitutional. iIf you want to interpret the text exactly as it's written the Gov. DOESNT have the right to prevent you from owning a laser guided rocket launcher. Thats why the Gov. makes things called exclusive contracts.
And .50 caliber rifles are excellent for big game hunting over long distance. Ive seen it used on elk, moose, caribou, as well as African big game.
Its disturbing that people think that stripping the rights of others simply b/c they dont exercise that right themselves is ok.

Obama? He'll do what he can to ban guns. At the beginning of '09 (and he's not in yet, and details may change minutely), he is going to increase the sales tax on firearms by 500% and mandate that all gun sales may no longer be private, but will be required to be transacted through a licensed dealer. While this may sound fun and cute, it will do nothing for security or safety, and it's only goal is to take more money and increase taxes and create more governmental control.

If criminals didn't have guns, they would kill you with knives. If they didn't have knives, they would club you to death. It's not the weapon that kills, it's the person, and Obama doesn't like the idea of a person being responsible for their own actions. Such a small percentage of firearm owners commit crimes with said possessions, so taxing and regulations will hurt so many that do nothing to contribute to crime.
