Well it was the 70's and listen to the songs closley and you can hear they were made to go against the war in a time were people were getting drafted and most of the countrey was against the war. Have you ever seen the rain is probably based of the amount of rain that would happen in vietnam. Fortune Son is about getting drafted into the veitnam war. To this day CCR songs still are some the off the best war songs ever made.

At any given time there would be hundeds of US forces, SEALs, LRRPs, Special Forces, in the field setting up ambushes or calling in artillory or air strikes when the enemy was spotted. When you see large unit operations like the one above, its because intell indicates enemy in the area and these guys are looking for a fight. Well dug in enemy in bunkers could be costly in digging them out.

booby traps range from trip grenades to toe stubbers.. spring traps and and pungee pits were amoung the most burtal devices ever used along with toe stubbers...
yes as they might sound like a normal stubbed toe, they were small pits very small pits dug on the trails and sides of trails that had 5 to 7 sharpend pungee stakes small ones, and or metal fragmentation, they called them toe stubbers because when you steped on one, it felt like you had stubbed your toe or foot. painful yet smart
when we were on patrol and shot at, we all shot in the direction the firing was coming from,sometimes we found a body or two but i do not know if any of my bullets hit them.i did call artillery in sometimes. when we checked the area out we saw blood but no bodies. they had the habit of carring their dead away. i carried the radio for 6 months
a booby trap was an explosive device that was put under ground that when you step on it, it would go off. it would killed you or you would loose an arm or leg. there were also trip wire across a trail . (a wire)it was hook to a grenade . you hit that it would pull the pin from the grenade causing it to go off.the guy in front had to look for them but sometimes he did not see them in time. i made a video of other types
