Is it just me, or in a lot of the warcaft 3 cutscenes really bad in terms of ACTIONS. Mannoroth dies in 1 hit. Archimonde gets to the world tree and...??? stands on it ??? then wisps come and before he even swats at them, he explodes.
Half the commenters on this video are 10 year old brats who have never even played an original warcraft title or even looked at the lore and the other half are nerds like me who are sitting here getting all nostalgic on their keyboard.

Wait.. I wasted like 30 mins defending that shit while wasting tons of gold and lumber for heavy ass units, while I could have done it with a bunch of wisps? ...
It looked like there were THOUSANDS of wisps. Let's assume for the purposes of this analysis that there were 10 thousand.
1. Summon Creature Damage: So that's 300 damage each (if we go by gameplay). 1000(300) = 300,000 damage. So 10,000 would have been 3,000,000.
2. If we go by the "Vengeful Wisp" spell then that's 1176/3 seconds for 15 seconds. So that's 5880 damage over 15 seconds. 10,000(5880) = 58,800,000 damage.
3. If we assume BOTH then that's 3,000,000 + 58,800,000: 61,800,000 damage.
CORRECTION: 225 to Summoned Creatures. So that's 2,250,000 damage for "1." and 61,050,000 damage for "3." respectively. Either way Archimonde in the case of the Vengeful Wisp spell would have taken more damage than 10 Player Heroic Lich King did. So he's hardly a pushover.
the wisps used detonate, normally it just does 225 to summoned units and not that much more.... its like being punched in the face, once isnt that big of a deal, now imagine being punched in the face 1000 times at once... yeah, or being stabbed, being stabbed once isnt so bad, being stabbed 100 times at once however....

He "ceased to be" after well of eternity imploded his and by that the portal between TN collapsed while he was in it so he became eternal and is in a state of "limbo". if you do not know what eternal is, that means he transcended the bounds of the mortal world. You could say he is in a state that the "Gods" use. so no he is NOT dead. he can still interfere with the mortal world.

He was possessed by Sargeras, basically Warcraft's devil, and created the original Dark Portal which let the demon-controlled orcs into Azeroth. He died during the First War (Warcraft I), but was revived and tried his best during WC3 to make up for the problems he caused while Sargeras controlled him.

Archimonde was "summoned" in dalaran , the wisp has the skill "detonate" that deal huge amount of dmg on a summoned unit , so thats why he died :/

@IIIII666IIIII They're the same race, archimonde is an eredar, the draenei are also eredar's, but uncorrupted ones. draenei litterly means "exiled" in their language.

@Tosexyformyshirt13 Basically Malfurion Stormrage blew the horn of Cenarius (Cenarius was Malfurion's Druid master and he was a demi God) which caused all of the Night elf whisp's (nature itself basically) to attack and eventually cause Archimonde (a high burning legion officer, a powerful demon basically) to combust thus ending his life and the Burning Legion's campaign on Azeroth....for the time being anyway.
