This happens every year, everywhere. What it is, is animals eating fermenting fruits and berries at the end of autumn. Let em be drunk off their asses once a year, we humans are much worse. ;)

No, I've lived seen a fair few raccoons with distemper and this is pretty much exactly how they act; I'd bet money this animal is dying (I don't believe for a second it was "eating fermented berries" or whatever stories a friend made up.) It's a painful, slow, horrible death, and very dangerous to other animals in the area... not exactly something to laugh at. I've seen them show coons doing this on America's Funniest Videos too and I think it's awful.

this wouldn't be nearly as funny if disease or injury caused this behavior. a coworker had me look this up & assures me this raccoon was intoxicated from eating fermented berries... thus, drunk raccoons are indeed HILARIOUS!
