I just put the OS on there and found it to be more than just a cosmetic upgrade. Having my phone work faster with fewer slow-downs has changed my mind about getting a new one. The browsing is better b/c the scrolling has gotten smoother and fastered. Overall, not perfect, but a step in the right direction.

My bold ran 4.6 and yeah had some software error so sent it in to get it fixed. Not only did I get it fixed for free (I'm still under warranty) but they even upgraded it to 5.0.0.681. In a sense it's not significant but I'm so glad I got it because my phone has actually performed much better. The memory leak issue is no longer a huge problem. I get small leaks but then the leaked memory returns so that's a plus. I recommend OS 5 over OS4 anyday!!!

i'm running OS 5.0.0.593. when i'm in the sms menu the sms chat and I click on the bb button and select call (... contact...) It doesn't aks me to choose wich number I would like to dial it automaticly dials a number. People I know they have the same bold 9700 lower OS. But they didn't experienced this strange bug. Tnx

thanks for the info. I've found that the ring volume goes to mute by some strange action. I spent 45 mins with tmobile getting it back again only to awaken this morning with no ring volume, no alerts etc. I've tried everything I know but it won't work can you comment? Anyone else experience this?

@jayman120 what version of desktop manager you have ? a few months ago i couldn't upgrade my blackberry curve 8520 to os5. yesterday i updated desktop manager. So i said let me try and it worked. it took about 20 mins to finish which was not long. and iam happy now. and it auto back up before upgrade so you are safe

Hey I'm with Wind Mobile in Canada and I just updated my Bold2 to 5.0 and my standby no longer works, my wifi stopped working also I believe my facebook texts aren't working to reply because of this also.

Also I have no BB Add-on.

@serenaismypooch try using a usb cable and getting the blackberry desktop manager (usb cable and install disk that came with your blackberry) atleast mine did

I have the Bold V5.0.0.411 - When I send or receive a text message there is a small text box at the bottom of the screen which reads "press r to reply" how do I remove this box?? I like to view a full screen when texting and not this very small box which you can only see a line of text at a time. I have spent 3 days looking at every setting and can't find how to do it!!! Nik

Im on 5.2... low on memory? strange, ive never had that problem, i just close programs. My 8900 starts alot faster then that. Why does everyone complain about the tabbed browsing, just get opera.

Bro I suggest you find a reliable OS 4.6 now and 'downgrade' if ur having serious problems. Other wise give it a day to see if the OS calms down. Everytime I upgrade it needs a bit of adjusting and tweaking. If that does not help check out crackberry forums

I give this video 5 stars. This is a very good review of OS 5.0. It doesn't seem like a big enough improvement for me to hassle with installing this OS.
