@MrPeenut2010 i never had a dovii but i had a 6-7" male red terror and i had a 10" Jag and i was watching the 2 of them bicker back and forth for a good hour or so shut the lights off at night woke up the next morning and jag was in pieces. I was pissed!!! so i said no way what he could bother a 8 inch trimac well that he lasted 2 weeks and the trimac was toast. So that where i get my opinion of the red terror. my terror is about 12-13" and is still super mean attacks everything tank is 180 gal.

I am shocked to see a Parachromis motaguense, Parachromis loisellei, and a Parachromis managuensis all living in the same tank! Normally members of the Parachromis family attack each other due to the similarity in there looks.

The Yellow one is a Parachromis loisellei, the tiger one is a Parachromis motaguense(red tiger)

Man I miss my male, they get so much larger than the females but I feel like they llok so much cooler, I had a pair in a 55, the female is at about 6-8 inches at 2yrs and my male was at 8 after less than a year, but I prefer the spots on the males over the females although my girl has a lot of personality but likes being left alone, shes in a tank by herself, not by choice if you know what i mean.

after my tiger Oscar died my Jag has became a major bully in the tasnk beating up on the other oscar and parrot fish even the jack dempsey run from it..You would think being in a 180 tank would be ok but its not,the tiger oscar kept order in the tank,now that order is gone,the jag is about to find its ass laying in the front lawn..

@dinhy34 that damage looks like its from a ornament . if you own fish you know sometimes if you come into the room to feed it they flip out and swim as fast as they can into a hiding place and alot of times they get scape marks

Ok so I got a jaguar cichlid about a week ago he is in a 10 gallon nw and isnt even a inch long but I put food in his tank but he wont eat it ... Is this a problem or is this normal?

@Guilweezy if hes alone and very young, hes probably just scared of hes new surroundings. mine hid for about a week until he felt familiar with hes tank and then he had a huge appetite and grew really fast and tried to fight all his tank mates, he was only 3 inches when i got him

@supercarpro i think my tank is about 600 litre, i think jag and convict together when young may be ok for 2 to 3 months. but the jag will grow much faster and he will definately fit that convict in hes mouth, jag and oscar? i love both and mine have lived together for 3 years so far

@jacksonjones402 i cant speak for all jags, but mine has a great personality, hes interactive and has never tried to bite me. i can put my hand right next to him and he doesnt care. if i touch him he casually swims away. hes a great cichlid. i think some people tease their fish and like all animals if u repeatedly tease them they will become aggressive, people should know better. its not the animals fault. if u get a jag , i suggest getting a small one and raising it, so u know its temperament.

my 3 inch jag beat up my 3 inch green texas. i had to put the texas in another tank. the jag dominates the 55 gal by itself and one pleco.

@keog2009 out of all my fish, my texas when in breeding mode would tear strips of any of my fish that get close, they do some serious dammage with their teeth, thats why they have their own tank. most of my other cichlids try to scare each other before biting but the texas bite straight away, including me when trying to clean their tank
