My interpretation: Two men were looking for treasure. When they realized they had competition, they got into a huge fight. The one man shown killed the other man with the shovel. Thus why the shovel had blood on it. He then continued to dig up the treasure, but realized his effort and greed were for nothing. He killed an innocent man for an empty chest; for nothing. His greed blinded him, and he ended up doing something that he regretted.

Message:

Don't be blinded by greed. Think before acting.
