@Actongue Thank you for using logic & common sense! The pro-lifers are all about street theater & INTENDING to be arrested. There is no denying this.
If you protest on private property without the permission of the owner, you are liable to arrest for trespassing, creating a public nuisance, etc. Just because one is a priest does NOT place him above the law.
This whole charade is nothing but a pre-planned pity party!
Weslin is no 'saint'; he is of the Leaven of Opus Dei - which is at one with that of the Pharisees.
Hysterical protests & rhetoric do not solve what forces most women to consider abortion: Economics. Rather then the self-serving lifer speeches & groups.....put the $millions wasted thus into free & unlimited material assistance to the women.
...that they can afford to have & even keep the child.
Otherwise the deeds of lifers are at one with the Pharisees, whom Christ 100% condemned.
Very Very ironic that a catholic priest (pro-life) gets "arrested" and Obama (pro choice) gets "invited" to a Catholic University (Notre Dame) that teaches pro-life. Lots of hypocrisy and irony here to be found.
Not surprising the "devil" hates babys and seeks to kill them (abortion) is it?
yeah I agree with christainwigg. I dont see how she "threatened" you in anyway. sorry buddy. you are on the web..people have their opinions and you wont always like them, that's something you are just going to have to get used so grow some balls and get over it already. Stephwigg09 that was a wonderful way to stand up for what was right. I dont see how she is a liar either. haha its insane and really dumb. so like I said you should drop it hun.
"Lifers" have a rather well known record - both on here & in real life - of making overt or implied threats against those who would dare to disagree with them....or show them that their mode & attitude is utterly condemned by Christ.
I have already forgiven & forgotten the comment in question. Thus the matter is closed.
Now, let us attend to the key issue: that the mode, tactics & spiritual mindset of Lifers is contrary to Christ & the Gospel.
If that was directed at me....NO, I do NOT think this was in any way legitimate or peaceful protest. These ppl are Fanatics who are being misled & this has ZERO to do with what Jesus teaches in the Gospel! There is nothing 'spiritual' about the tactics of pro-lifers; they have been led into hatred, which is NOT of Christ.
If they wish to pray, then do as Christ taught & do so in secret where God will hear them. Then DO as Christ taught & give material charity to the pregnant moms!
I don't see hatred; I see peaceful protest. Wakling and praying is peaceful; vandalism and bombs and murders are not. Jesus prayed in public as well as in private. Staying home and praying is not a protest, that is just prayer.
"When ye pray do not be like the hypocrites that love to stand & pray in the synagogues & on street corners that they may be seen of men. Amen, I say to you: they have received their reward. But when thou pray, enter into thy chamber & having shut the door, pray to they Father in secret: & they Father who seeth in secret will repay thee"
Yes, when praying we can pray and give alms in secret, but when you want to stop baby killing, you protest. Their not praying for themselves, they are trying peacefully to make change.
@kieranshane Any fool who thinks that doing what Jesus taught - to pray in secret - does not work or is not effective enough...does not believe in God.And is denying the power of the Holy Spirit - the unpardonable sin.
Pray in secret for the conversion of those involved in abortion; & that the women be converted AND given the material assistance they need to keep/raise the child. Then GIVE THEM UNLIMITED MATERIAL ASSISTANCE - without shaming or preaching.
Obviously you are playing a game here & covering up for the OBVIOUS threat in those words.
Pro-Lifers are NOT following Christ & the Gospel! They have been made into fanatics.
Pray in secret, as Jesus taught - & God will hear. DO in public.....DO material charity, so the pregnant moms can afford to have the child (the MAIN reason they seek abortion is material want).
If you DO this, God will provide the internal Grace of conversion.
You don't know her, and you don't know what her intensions where. So how about from now on you keep your comments on topic, and stop attacking young girls who have no cruel intensions towards you. I believe that was a highly unprofessional thing to do. Maybe if you had argued with a little more facts instead of pulling the "your attacking me" card your opinions would have actually been important to other readers. Now, instead of the topic, readers have to hear this dispute.
"Maybe if you had argued with a little more facts..."
It would seem that the words of Jesus Christ in the Gospel are not...."facts".
Key Point: the Gospel is what salvation hinges upon. It is what defines being a Xtian. It is, literally & totally, "The Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven".
...but you reject this as 'not fact'.
Apparently when the publically known record of Weslin (for some 20+ years) is cited, that is not 'fact' either......
As far as her actual comments go, I can assure you that her intensions were strictly to warn you of how others might take your comments. For her to blatantly disagree with you, and still be concerned enough to offer her warnings to you, it took a lot of character, something you obviously don't have. You are the one who seems to be attacking her. If you wish to express your opinions you shouldn't take others' so personally. Futhermore, you had no place calling her a liar.
Anyone who can read these words can see plainly that what was stated by her was a thinly veiled threat. Similar behavior has been observed on here by other Lifers.
Perhaps the careful reading of the words of Christ from the Gospels, quoted below, would be of benefit......
The sin of omission is no less offensive to God than a sin of commission. You are proud of sitting at home and doing nothing why innocent children are dying? You condemn others for trying to live their lives witnessing to the truth? Satan accuses the brethren. You accuses my brothers and sisters in Christ of things they have not done. YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND JUSTICE. I know the people in this video. Shame on you for serving Satan, in the name of Jesus Christ repent and ask for forgiveness.
You are the one that you condemn. My actions have been seen in public and you are the one talking in cyberspace, no less. Do tell what you have done? Do tell what the Bible says to do for the innocent being murdered? Doesn't the Bible tell us to treat murder like it is murder? Did not Christ say "to render unto Ceaser what is Ceaser's," but then Christ says "render unto God what is God's." Did not Peter "say it is better serve God rather than man" and radically defy the law of that land?
Christ neither set up an earthly kingdom (as our friends at the Vatican have done), nor did He incite to riot. The Gospel is about changing yourself - not society.
Try reading it.....
It is also irony that ye can get all worked up over an obvious secular agenda (inspired by Opus Dei), yet kill millions in war after war with impunity.
And support & enable the murder of both body AND soul....in clerical sex abuse.
Are you beyond incorrigible? Did God not say thou shalt not murder? Did God say you can end a life anytime you choose? When do you trump God and know better the biological processes than he? And actually, sir you are virulently ignorant at best. When you say fanaticism you don't mean like when Christ flipped tables and used a whip on people in the temple do you? You surely wouldn't include when God made a covenant with Phinehas for killing 2 sinners in Num.25 as being fanatic? God not fanatic?
@azurebeowulf "Did God not say thou shalt not murder?"...perhaps that question should be put to those concerned: the Vatican Masters & their secular 'yes-men'. Let us hear what Jesus saith to them:
"For upon you shall fall all the just blood spilled upon the earth since Abel....behold: I shall send you scribes & prophets whom you shall scourge, persecute & murder..."
As to what Jesus did to the Mammon in the Temple; were He here in the same mode, He would do the same...to the Vatican.
Bottom line is Matt. 25:40, when you get to heaven Christ will ask you why, when he was being murdered, you were praying and did nothing to stop him from being murdered.
@19lfm12 Have you given your wealth to the poor mothers? Or are you only interested in the Church giving away "her" wealth, which is used to help millions of people, Catholic and non-Catholic, all over the world every day through works of charity. Your statements are evidence of delusion and utter disregard for the facts.
The Vatican gives mere lip service to the Gospel & has since the 4th century. What little is done is for fundraising photo ops & 'convert ot eat' programs.
As the wealthiest entity on earth which claims 'divine authority' it falls upon them to do what Jesus taught....not merely use Him as a corporate logo.
What you write indicates a lack of comprehension of the Gospel & Fanaticism...which is what Christ repeatedly & pointedly condemned.
I gather you are not aware of (or choose to ignore or are in favor of) the UN (and now the US) programs of "abort your babies and we'll give you aid". And I do know something of fanaticism. I am reading it in your comments.
Until & unless one is forced by law to have an abortion, it remains a free moral choice.
Period.
The lesson of the Gospel is that we are to change ourselves, not the world. And that we are NOT to govern or try to influence civil law. Jesus made that quite plain.
That being said: the Church should divest its wealth to feed & aid the poor. Jesus specifically told His Apostles not to own $ or worldly goods.
If you're trying to rile me, you'll have to try harder. Murder may be a choice, but it is hardly a "free" one and certainly is not moral. Apparently that part of the Gospel confuses a great many people, including you.
Man has completely free will, as given by God, to obey & love Him....or not. It's that simple. One is free to sin; tis a choice. With consequences if not repented of.
The Vatican only proves time & again that Christ spoke the words of Matthew 23 prophetically against its Administrators:
"You lay unsupportable burdens upon men's shoulders, but a finger of your own you will not lift......you do not observe the weightier things of the law: justice & mercy...".
I'm not reading justice or mercy in any of your words. I'm reading conceit and unbelievable arrogance, coupled with the delusion that you can read hearts and minds. Methinks you could use a little Gospel reading yourself. Then try practicing what you've been preaching.
Have you given away your money and possessions yet?
...the Gospel according to the possessed Escriva? Or one of the many Opus Dei/LC drones you favor?
They are not of God; God is merely useful to them.
The Abortion issue is being manipulated from both sides by Opus Dei & its many front operations. Useful idiots are doing the protesting. But this is a political leverage tool to gain civil power in the US.
A very interesting game is in play - and you are a pawn.
I agree that the abortion issue is being used to gain political power. I am not a member of Opus Dei. Are you a fan of Dan Brown's Duh Vinci Code? That helps me understand where you got these bizarre notions of the Church.
In your fanatical focus on money, aren't you forgetting something? The evangelical counsels are three, not one: poverty, chastity and obedience. The point is to be free of attachment to worldly things and to be open to God. Speaking of poverty, the Church is the largest charitable organization in the world.
Oh, forgot to ask you: have you given away your money and possessions? Practicing what you preach yet?
"Take with you neither gold, nor silver, nor coin, nor purse, nor bread, nor shoes (only the rich could afford shoes), nor two coats (only the rich could afford such)......"
@DiscipleOfChrist96 Apparently Catholic Priests & Bishops neither comprehend no live the Gospel as they systemically engage in child rape & torture, and enable & cover it up.
Clerical Sex Abuse is the murder of souls - far worse then abortion ever could be!
@azurebeowulf Perhaps you should try actually READING Matthew 25, as it applied to you & the 'oh-so-pious' Catholics. Jesus makes it VERY clear that to those who were MERCIFUL to others, even their enemies - who lived in genuine Charity - there is salvation.
But to the 'pious ones' who are not of the Gospel: He says to you who heed Him not:
"Lord, Lord, open to us!' But He answering said: 'Amen I say to you, I know you not'"
@azurebeowulf And you neither understand the Gospel nor believe in God.....nor the power of the Holy Spirit.
If you pray for someone's conversion, sincerely & in secret as Christ taught, then you are entrusting their soul to God. Pro-lifers have no faith, as they do not TRUST in God to do what is needed. Lack of trust = NO FAITH.
Further, pro-lifer rallies & street theater do NOTHING to help the women in crisits pregnancy.
The commenter christianwigg is my sister. I have known her my entire life, and throughout I have only ever whitnessed her to be a passionate and caring christian. She does not have the capability to threaten anyone, infact the people who have harmed her the most in her life, she has gone out of her way to lend a friendly hand to (an attribute I could never accomplish). She prays for such people everyday.
Concern yourself with what Christ teaches in the Gospel, rather then mindlessly quoting pious sounding prayers in Latin - as if that in some manner exalted yourself or this spiritually misguided 'cause'.
My initial comments on this thread were a call AWAY from the Phariseeism of the Catholic Church's lifer groups, back to the truth of the Gospel, which its members at least superficially confess.
To give unlimited material aid to women in crisis pregnancy - without obligation, shaming or forced conversion. As Christ intended. Thus eliminating any perceived 'need' for abortion.
There is no "need" for abortion now and never has been. There is no need to murder defenseless babies, whether one is a Christian or not, one should understand that.
Have you given all your money away yet? Have you followed Christ to the full like that yourself yet?
...typical Escrivan rhetoric to deflect any possible critique of the Vatican & the lifer groups, run by drones of Opus Dei & the LC/RC & their various ancillaries......
Of course, we cannot possibly allow any criticism of the Vatican, its 'groups' & policies/modes of operation.
The point remains: the Vatican has utterly failed to evangelize properly & to teach the Gospel by personal example.
I've actually read very little Escriva. Your knowledge of the Church is scanty and bizarre. I question your source as well as your motives. And I repeat, if you're trying to rile me, you'll have to do much better than this. Exactly what is your experience of the Church and of the Vatican? Other than reading some bad works of fiction, I mean.
@DiscipleOfChrist96 You & your fellow 'lifers' here make it clear that you have NO Faith, and that you do not trust God to do what you ask for in prayer. Nor do you do as He taught.
Give women in crisis pregnancy unlimited material support so that they can AFFORD to have & raise the child.....and then you will eliminate better then 90% of abortions!
Simple, no?
But of course....then you would not be able to have these Phariseeical rant & rave protests....& calling women 'sinners'......all of which Christ most firmly condemned.
This requires actually LIVING the Gospel....not just talking about it.
If you go onto my channel...I have several toll free telephone numbers listed which can help women through pregnancy & beyond...They can help with everything she needs...Life is a miracle...Save the babies...Gerard Paul
Feeble attempts at justifying the greed & seflishness of the Church like this are pathetic. From local parishes, to dioceses, to 'Catholic Charities' (a black hole for govt. funds & entitlements), to the Vatican itself: the Church gives mere lip service to Christ & to the Gospel. Christ never authorized the Apostles to have offshore accounts & shell corporations....
"Whatever you DO NOT DO to the least of your brothers you DO NOT DO to ME".
I share your sentiments about the national Catholic Charities organization. That's why I support our local Catholic Charities in our diocese. Admin costs are 7%, almost all our dollars go directly to the people who need it most. I don't give a dime to the national group.
But do let's acknowledge the difference between those called to be apostles and those who serve in other vocations. I know friars and nuns who gave away everything. But few of my Christian friends in the world have. And you?
LOL! In the NY area alone, Catholic Charities has endowments in excess of $32million.
....we do not see any of this being placed in the hands of the poor. In fact pitifully little of the $ goes to the poor. All window dressing; & CC is the largest eater of govt. funding, entitlement, grants & Medicaid.
Yet Christ commanded His Apostles to give ALL to the poor, depend only on Providence, & own nothing.
I agreed with you that the national CC has huge problems, though I may see other problems with them than you. Our local CC is not part of the national group and our bishop is not like some of the other bishops in the USCCB. Thank God! But, I repeat, do let's distinguish between apostles and others. The successors to the apostles are the bishops, not you and not me. Unless you are a bishop.
"Woe to you...hypocrites; that build the tombs of the prophets & adorn the monuments of the just. You are witnesses against yourselves: for you are the sons of them that killed the prophets. Fill up then the measure of your fathers. Behold: I send you wise men, prophets & scribes...whom you put to death, scourge & persecute....That upon you shall come all the just blood spilled upon the earth, from Abel the just..."
I can not, and DO not believe that Ms. McCorvey and Fr. Weslin's intentions of protest were to pass condemnation on women who have or will have an abortion, Ms. McCorvey has been in their shoes, she knows what they are going through, what they will go through. This protest was simply to get out the truth of life,to pray for these women because a true pro-lifer respects the dignity of ALL human life from conception to natural death, to call these protestors pharisees, you put your self at risk.
"to call these protestors pharisees, you put your self at risk."
Are you threatening me?
Newspapers over the last 20 off years are filled with reports which make it eminently clear that Weslin is performing street theater intentionally: to get arrested. Stop playing games!
If lifers are so interested in life - then contribute to the financial support of women in crisis pregnancy, so they can afford to have/keep the child.
These protesters are of the leaven of the Pharisees.
I was not threatening you I was making a biblical reference you know "judge not lest ye also be judged". To make accusations against pro-lifers and the church like this when you are doing being just as narrowminded and harsh towards an opposing view is putting yourself at risk of being judgemental. What I posted earlier was not meant to be a personal attack on you, it was meant to explain and defend what I believe to be the protestors motives, I'm sorry if you felt threatened by my remark.
You are obviously lying & trying to cover your tracks. That statement was an obvious & direct threat against me.
Further, you are calling Christ a liar & 'narrow minded'; for it is He who condemns what the Church & lifers do & say. The classic ruse of this out of context quote is to silence opposition to the Church's agenda.
In the Gospel Jesus makes it very clear that no man has the right to judge the final destination of a soul - but that one may obviously judge the morality of actions.
I caught your meaning, christianwigg, and understood that you meant that 19 was putting his/her soul at risk. Perhaps he/she is not as familiar with the Gospel as he/she would have us believe.
The Gospel is the teaching of Christ. That finds its core in the Sermon on the Mount & the Beatitidues, as expounded in the Parables.
That is ALL the Gospel is. That is what the Vatican has failed miserably to communicate for 1700 years. Instead it has used God as a medium of control - as Christ predicted they would.
The Gospel is NOT doctrine or dogma, nor Canon Law. Or any of the other Phariseeical add-ons of the Vatican.
"Take care that you do not do your justice before men to be seen by them; otherwise you shall not have a reward of your Father in heaven......and when you pray do not be like these hypocrites that love to stand in the synagogues & street corners, to be heard of men. Amen, I say to you: they have received their reward..."
Naturally these words of Christ will be flagged, 'thumbed-down' or deleted - as they utterly condemn the pro-life activists.
Luke 8:16 No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light." We are commanded to spread the Gospel and to share the light of Christ with everyone, all creatures, everywhere. In public, at home, everywhere.
Well, in my experience in the self-serving street theater of which you speak, I've had an opportunity to witness to many many people. Some mocked and scoffed, some wanted to argue, some wanted to really understand, and one even almost tried to run me down with his car. But even in that last case, I was able to talk with people about the sanctity of all human life. And all of us were able to show the ancient enemy that we will not be intimidated into silence.
Christ in no way mandated much less approved of such 'witness' & street theater. If someone tried to run you down, that was God's Will......in an attempt to give you a hint:
"Which part of My Son's Gospel do you not understand?"
Rather then such pious 'argument", show the mercy & love of God to women in crisis pregnancy & provide unlimited, free material support - so they can AFFORD to have the child.
That is what the Gospel calls for....not self serving protests.
Christ in now way mandated much less approved of the kind of witness you are giving here on YouTube, this is certain. Someone tried to run me down, and I know who he was obeying and it wasn't God.
I do show mercy and the love of God to women in crisis pregnancy. I don't have the financial means to give them unlimited material support. I don't know anyone but God who could do that. Even Jesus didn't heal everyone when He was walking on the earth.
Nothing happens in heaven or on earth which is not the Will of God. If a car tries to hit you, that is His Will.....His passive Will, wherein evil is 'allowed' to get your attention.
Pain is the megaphone by which God communicates to the deaf.
God has no $. Ppl do. The Vatican does, in contradiction to the Gospel - refusing to give it to the poor. God has been repeatedly calling the Vatican to reform & repentence.
Thus God will now amp up the volume of the megaphone to them....
Christ showed the proper way to "show mercy" when He fed the multitudes. Most of them did not believe in His divinity, identity as Messiah, nor in what He was teaching. BUT...he fed them, attending to their material need without shaming, yelling, scolding. Jew & Roman; believer & pagan alike were fed.
He showed clearly how Providence 'feeds' all, both good & bad. That God has penultimate control over all. All one needs to do is to rely solely upon His power to accomplish all.
@DiscipleOfChrist96 Christ very plainly taught that true religion - that which is acceptable to the Father - is to pray in secret; to give alms in secret. Not in public to 'be seen of men'. Not to seek peer approval or reward from other ppl for such false 'piety'.
The Vatican is the wealthiest entity on earth - it can easily solve world hunger & poverty. Yet it prefers to serve Mammon & glorify itself......while Christ starves in the person of the poor.
As far as Jesus asking us to change ourselves, not the world...Now I think we are getting somewhere. If we change ourselves, we will, of course, change the world. But are you seriously suggesting that we are to take no concern for the world around us? Are we to remain silent while others are being harmed? Are we not to defend the weak and defenseless? We are to help those we can help any way we can. That's what the works of mercy are all about. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
The Gospel neither endorses nor in any way suggests: protesting, street theater, howling & screaming rabble-rousing rhetoric, & calling ppl 'sinners'.
As to 'being silent while others are harmed"....I would suggest a consideration of the Inquisitions & persecutions performed by the Church. Plus the forced conversion, plunder, enslavement, of many ppls with Vatican approval.
I have never done any of those things. I have been yelled at, mocked, threatened (with a moving car), but I have not responded in like manner. I have prayed quietly while walking up and down the sidewalk. I have responded to hateful words and actions with gentleness and kindness.
You & those like you see such silly street theater as 'living the Gospel'. In point of fact, it is anything but.
Lifers do nothing to meet the serious material need, which is what drives most women to consider abortion in the first place.
As to prayer: "when you pray, do not be as the hypocrites & pray loud prayers on the street corners to be heard of men. They have their 'reward'. When you pray do so in secret, that your Father will hear you in secret..."
Btw, Jesus tossing tables around in the temple when he threw out the moneychangers might have been considered pretty good theater by some. I know I'd like to have seen it.
Forgot to mention once more your misinformed view of history, accusing the Church of taking actions that were actually performed by the civil authorities. More fictions by Dan Brown and other of his ilk.
It is well known historical fact that said civil authorities worked hand-in-glove with the Church. The incidents of interrogation & torture were done by clerics themselves and/or by laymen under clerical supervision. Executions were carried out by the state at the behest of the Church.
....the same mode used to torture & execute Jesus.
Lies & half-truths are not historical facts. Nor is something "true" just because EWTN says so:)
It's clear to me that you accept anything anyone says as long as it insults or misrepresents the Church. It's also clear that you have an axe to grind. I hope you find the healing you obviously need. I'm on my way to the 40 Days for Life kickoff rally now. I'll be back on the street outside Planned Parenthood tomorrow and everyday during Lent. I'll be doing what I can to help mothers, fathers and children, during the campaign, and beyond.
I sincerely do pray that you will find healing. Really.
You equate 'the Church" - the Vatican organization - with God himself. As if it was all powerful, knowing, wise & could do no wrong. And that it is above any criticism.
You will not end abortion by such self-serving & wasteful activity. It only aggravates things & helps nobody.
You also fail to see that elements linked to the Opus Dei are working BOTH sides of the abortion issue; for political ends. The 'moral highground' is mere....smokescreen.
Really, what an imagination. And imagine the good you could do if you chose to. But I know what I have to do. I know what God is calling me to do. I know where He has called me to be. I don't equate the Church with God. What a notion. Did someone in the Church hurt you, are you just angry in general, or are you simply having a good time spouting all this?
There isn't enough time in the day to refute all your errors. And that would distract me from what I should be doing: listening to Him.
You would refute the Gospel itself then, as it conflicts with your conditioning & what you worship, by default.
One is trained by the "Church" to equate the clergy, religious & organization itself with God; to have Divine authority. Fact. Thus the penultimate spiritual mindfuck, from which there is little escape as long as one refuses to have Eyes to See.
The 'pro-life' groups have nothing to do with the Gospel or God. You have no clue who you are actually serving.
Oh, what conditioning the Lord broke through to reach me, His poor lost sheep. He knows me. I belong to Him. I know His voice. He is my Shepherd.
And I know who you are serving.
I'm going back to my Lenten practices now. Have fun spouting filth and obscenities. When you grow up and want to get serious about your spiritual life, look me up.
For what? An invitation to join some Legion of Christ apostolate? Opus Dei? Communion & Liberation? Or the other groups spawned from hell itself - masquerading as 'Christian'?
No thanks. These things, what they do & say are not of God. Just because they 'talk God' only shows that they use Christ as a corporate logo. Tis all.
God is not served by 'lifer' protests, rallies & rhetoric.
He is served by giving unlimited material aid to pregnant women - being Christ to them.
Jesus told the woman caught in adultery, "Go and sin no more." Only God can read the heart. "Judge not, lest in judging ye shall be judged." Material assistance? YES...Pro Life Catholics do that !!! Spiritual direction? ONLY if it is accepted !! Do YOU see ? God bless ALL men & women of ALL Christian Churches who aid and guide troubled women toward the ONLY Saviour of mankind....JESUS of Nazareth !!! Hail Mary; Thank you Mary for NOT aborting JESUS !!!
@finishstrongdoc The Church mere lip service to the Gospel - at best. It does NOTHING of substance to help the poor, much less provide unlimited material assistance to women in crisis pregnancy. Without preaching of shaming. It does NOTHING.
Jesus taught to pray in secret NOT on street corners 'to be seen of men'. If you are of God & submissive to His Will, then what you pray for shall be. Do you not trust the Holy Spirit? Obviously....not.
@19lfm12 BEFORE I was a Pagan (really Animist), I was Protestant, which in most cases means Anti-Catholicism is preached, which always made me suspicious of motive, but I "went along to get along". The last place I thought I would find the Truth was in the Catholic Church. Then I walked into an Adoration Chapel in ATL.I am now a recovering Anti-Catholic. The Catholic Church you describe doesn't exist. I joined the one that does, which is the MOST charitable entity on the planet.Peace be with u
@finishstrongdoc Unfortunately you are doing what most Catholic have been conditioned to do: confuse the Catholic Faith with the Roman Catholic Church organization/Vatican. The two are not one & the same, and never were. Jesus did not found the Vatican; men did - led by the pagan Constantine.
The Vatican does not believe in the Catholic Faith.
In the real world, what I have described as the reality of the RCC is true in every dioces & nation.
If what you say were true, I wouldn't be Catholic today; you have no idea how hard-headed I am. God's grace, received in the Sacraments(which Jesus gave the Apostles to pass on)changed, is changing my heart of stone. My head remains hard; God likes hard headed, soft hearted converts, who would die for Christ and His Church. St. Joan of Arc, under interrogation and facing death, told her accusers" Don't try to confuse me; Christ & the Church are the same thing".Pagans? They are great converts.
@finishstrongdoc Joan d' Arc was torture, interrogated & murdered by "Holy Mother Church" as she dared to actually believe in & be obedient to God; not the Church Administrators. She was of the 'Catholic Faith'; the Vatican is not. Therefore she was a threat to their power - just as Christ is....thus they use Him as a mere corporate logo.
The Vatican is frightened of any pure soul who actually knows & believes in God, as they - like Joan - condemn them in Christ's Name.
Have Churchmen behaved scandalously in the past? YES. Have laymen ? YES.
Does the Church TEACH error concerning faith & morals? NO.
Joan appealed to the Pope, and was denied that right.
The Church recognizes ST. Joan.
The only RATIONAL conclusion one can make, then, is that everything worked out to glorify God and the Church; the Church admitted ERROR in JUDGEMENT, and CORRECTED the error.
What more do you want? BLOOD?
CHRIST's BLOOD ATONED for ALL sins. The blood of Popes don't save.
@finishstrongdoc Jesus ordered the Apostles to teach the Gospel by their personal example....this applies to those who would claim to be their successors. Obviously their example is NOT the Gospel; therefore they do NOT teach the Gospel!
The Church tortured & murdered Joan d' Arc, as she was a threat to their power...as she was of God. Ditto for Jan Hus. Jesus foretold in Matt23 that the Vatican would kill the prophets He would send to them.
Jesus forgave his crucifiers. I became a Catholic so I could be forgiven as Jesus forgave, and have the power to forgive others their sins against me
. Do you think God makes mistakes? God is a SHARING GOD; Jesus left NONE of His own writings behind; He expected others to follow Him to TELL the Good News. Writing is only ONE way to do that. DOING as Jesus DID is another; that's why we have the Sacraments. There will never be a power in the universe greater than forgiveness..never...ever.
God's Grace does not annihilate the self; God's Grace is God Himself being imparted to, and received by one OPEN to be Crucified IN Christ. Crucifixion of the Catholic Church is going on NOW, as it has been in every age. Jesus "preached" the Sermon on the Mount FROM the CROSS ! The Crucifixion of Christ did not annihilate the Blessed Mother,St John,or anyone who believed in Jesus' Divinity. Nor did it annihilate Jesus.Hope is in CHRIST ALONE: Saviour/Messiah:RECEIVE HIM,not symbol, but REAL.
@finishstrongdoc The entire message of the Gospel IS about the sublimation of self to God.Perhaps you should read it.....No, Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount/Beatitudes to a large crowd gathered on the side of a mountain.
In His Death Jesus was annihilated; pouring Himself out as the sacrifice for sins. Obedient to the Will of the Father.
You claim to be Catholic yet know nothing of even the most basic sacramental theology.....typical.
There is no suicide in hell, though all desire it there.
All Desire is in heaven, and all desire to live there.
You seem to be very intelligent, but very critical of the intellectual accomplishments of others. I may not know moral theology perfectly, but I know the Catholic Church cannot lie concerning faith & morals. I use analogy to make a point, not to create a theological fine point. Why do you persecute Christ and His Church? What are your motives?God will correct me, not you.I trust Him.
@finishstrongdoc "I know the Catholic Church cannot lie concerning faith & morals". You have been deceived, as this is factually not true. There is more evidence of this historical fact then will fit in this box. Two key examples: the scapegoating of Gays & Jews. The Church has falsely blamed all moral & societal evils on these two groups. In both cases the Church has LIED & twisted Scripture to support their injustice.
The Vatican is neither Christ nor is it in truth 'His Church'.
I suggest you read Jewish convert to Catholicism Roy Schoeman's comments on that in his book "Salvation is from the Jews'. I have an idea if I had been a Jew at the "choice"(Jesus or Barabbas) I would have chosen Barabbas. The "existential dilemma" extends from the Jews as does Salvation itself....this is "hair-splitting", NOT a reversal. The Jews are STILL God's Chosen; they are "Our elder brothers in faith"(JPII). Why God chose me to be Catholic is still a mystery to me,but it is what it is.
In today's"PC" culture, many are afraid to say homosexuality is a sin. The Catholic Church has always followed Scripture and Tradition on that, and warns the world from the Vatican and the Catechism about the consequences of homosex. Jesus would've said the same, and He would have given the gay Jew a chance to repent. I'm sure MOST who have had an authentic encounter with Christ will ask for and be healed by Him of GID. They'd be crazy not to.And if crazy,God can heal that, too.
@finishstrongdoc You have eaten of the Leaven of Opus Dei, which is from hell itself....
Jesus said nothing about gay sex acts or gays. Neither are mentioned in the Commandments which He wrote. Case Closed. It is NOT a sin to be gay, nor do gay sex acts of themselves have ANY religious context. The puny 7 verses in the entire Bibles which mention gay sex acts are in reference to male prostitutes/concubines. Using others as sex toys& wild hedonism is the sin - NOT being gay!
Any single man who is Catholic and follows the teachings of Christ and His One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church will, if he is honest, admit he is tempted every day to sexual impurity...So don't try to sugarcoat this...it's a struggle, but then, so is marriage...you, my friend, need to WAKE UP...YOU are the LIAR here, and you follow the Father of Lies...you may be deceiving the weak-minded and silly, but you don't fool me...get to confession...FAST...
@finishstrongdoc You are willfully ignorant of Scripture & ignoring the very painfully obvious truth of such which have been explained to you.
Christ said NOT ONE WORD about gays; nor is homosexuality mentioned in the Commandments. Do you have a reading comprehension problem? God does NOT condemn gays. Being gay is NOT a sin.
Wild hedonism; using others as sex toys IS a sin...for str8 AND gay persons.
The point I was trying to demonstrate, which you took literally, was that conversion doesn't destroy human nature, it perfects it...over time. For we Catholics, it's not "Once saved, always saved", but "Once you get to heaven, you're saved."
You can't please all the people all the time. I am not interested in pleasing men, but Christ. The Catholic Church guides me Knowledge doesn't save me, Jesus' Blood does.
I am convinced you're smart and hate Catholics. Too bad...that won't get you saved.
@finishstrongdoc You may be sincere, but do not comprehend Scripture & Prophecy. Mary, at LaSalette, Fatima, Garabandal & AKita did not come to praise the Vatican or enable it. She came with God's words of CONDEMNATION of the Vatican. As they have set themselves as rulers over the society of nations (with vast secular cooperators), they are responsible for the state of humanity. Vatican was repeatedly requested by Mary to repent & reform themselves. They ignored her......thus will be destroyed.
I don't see Our Lady's msgs as CONDEMNATORY, as you do, I see them as a warning. Jesus was condemned by the Pharisees;"dirge" or "dance", they still thought he wasn't the Messiah(in the main-some probably KNEW he was and weren't able to overcome cultural conditioning). It's hard to ignore the trajectory of history that runs through the Catholic priesthood and therefore the Vatican.
@finishstrongdoc Jesus 100% condemned the leaders of Organized Religion. Both in 33AD & now. Every single charge is applicable to the Vatican; even worse then the Pharisees, as the Vatican has influenced so many millions of souls.
..and left a horrid trail of blood & murder in its wake.
@19lfm12 Thank you for the most ignorant and stupid rambling written on a youtube post. It is about the victims.
Those are the babies. Read the story of the "Good Samaritan" and then ask yourself why you would be the damned Levite who walked by and just prayed for the beaten man instead of helping him.
Think about the fact that nothing you have said has made any real sense, except that you are simply wrong.
@azurebeowulf In the Parable of the Good Samaritan a pagan/atheist/non-believer is shown as one who is of God, who lives the Gospel, doing what Jesus taught. Not the oh-so-pious Priest or Bishop (Levite).
You do not believe in Jesus as you do not believe what He taught. Read Isaiah 58; then the Gospel. You are to pray & do charity in secret. Trusting God to act; allowing the Holy Spirit to convert those whom He Wills be converted.
@azurebeowulf If you had ANY Faith at all, you would pray as Jesus taught for the conversion of sinners. AND you would give your wealth to the poor...not to Bishops.
If the vast $millions wasted on Lifer garbage was spent to feed, clothe, house & provide unlimited medical care & emotional support for women in crisis pregnancy - without preaching or shaming - then abortion would be a non-issue.
Thus, Abortion IS the fault of Opus Dei & the Vatican.
@finishstrongdoc Catholic Clerical Sex Abuse has been ongoing, rampant & systemic for over 1000 years - with the full knowledge of Vatican Administrators. This is a fact of history, which no amount of lies from Opus Dei can erase!
One cannot have any faith in God & at the same time knowingly enable sex abuse of the innocent. Of this the Vatican Administration IS guilty. They blamed the entire Jewish ppl for the death of Christ - when it is their spiritual predecessors who are guilty....!
If I were to tell you I was a victim of male rape, and I have forgiven my rapist through the grace God allows to pass through the hands of a Catholic Priest in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, you would find it unbelievable. But it would be true. Lots of things lots of people believe to be true are not. God cannot lie or be lied to. Liars go to hell. Why would I lie?
@finishstrongdoc May God have mercy upon your abuser & give you His peace.
Indeed, the sacraments are very real. The priest is merely a vessel, as all Sacraments are effected by the power of the Holy Spirit; not the priest himself. The key is the conscious projection of the valildating intention of the Sacrament, unlocking the action of the HS. WIthout that, no Sacrament is valid.
Is Jesus real? Did Jesus lie? Are the Sacraments real? Do the Sacraments impart Christ Himself? Upon Christ does the Catholic Church depend,as does the whole PHYSICAL world depend on Him for existence. "Sooner the Universe would pass away than the Eucharist."~ST Padre Pio~
I was not sexually assaulted by a priest, but by a gay Jewish man in SF, who deceived & drugged & raped me. Yrs later I came back to kill him, instead I went hiking in the Sierras got lost was saved by a miracle. +Euch= Christ+
@finishstrongdoc Please read carefully: yes, sacraments are real but ONLY if the correct intention is consciously projected by the officiant. He must INTEND that your sins be forgiven or the eucharist confected for the power of the Holy Spirit to function. No valid intention = no valid sacrament.
It is foretold in Scripture that valid public masses will cease. For reasons to complex to post here, this is now largely a reality, globally....intentionally.
If you lived in the time of Noah, and you had a chance to get into the ark, would you ask first if Noah were "holy enough" to build the ark? Or would you refuse to accept Noah's basic message, that God INTENDED to destroy those who stayed out of the ark? Lest you take this ANALOGY literally, unless you KNOW Jesus is the Church&the Church is Jesus, you won't be judged by that; you are "invincibly ignorant". Only God knows your heart. Or mine.
@finishstrongdoc Opus Dei & their willing Collaborator Herr Ratz are indeed offering you an 'Ark'...from hell itself. Cloaking itself in the garb of false religion, pretending that they are of God & speak with His authority.
They do not, as they do not believe in Him; thus do NOT in any way represent Him. They have not Truth within them, therefore are NOT of the Truth.
The only 'ark' the sole refuge is in God....not men, groups & systems pretending to be 'officially endorsed by God'.
You sound like a man who is drowning...save yourself...you have rejected the Ark....Here..I'll throw you a "lifeline"...get to confession FAST...before you go under......you'll have to take your complaints up with Him when you get your Judgement...Now, if you'll excuse me , I have a CATHOLIC conscience to examine...Peace be with you.....*+*+*+*
If you lived in the time of Noah, and you had a chance to get into the ark, would you ask first if Noah were "holy enough" to build the ark? Or would you refuse to accept Noah's basic message, that God INTENDED to destroy those who stayed out of the ark? @finishstrongdoc No, God does not make mistakes....neither did He make the Vatican.
As to 'writings'....yes Jesus intended that His followers spread His teaching orally & in writing. The 1st written Gospel was that of Thomas, written in the late 30sAD; brought to Egypt by Mark the Apostle in the mid 40sAD, founding the Coptic Church.
Yet the Gospel of Thomas & many others - all well known & valid, were suppressed by the Vatican. As these 'writings' condemned the power of the new Vatican.
"Papal aide linked to Vatican gay prostitution ring"
...whose 'escorts' include Seminarians. As reported in the Irish Times & elsewhere.
This has been going on for years; hints of it relating to other Opus Dei related personas came out in the Swiss Guard scandals, & the sordid details of a few clerics similarly 'caught' in recent years.
...not exactly what one would expect in an entity claiming to be the viceregents of God on earth:)
It is Christ who has 'an ax to grind' against the Church Administration, for what it has done 'in His Name'. Using Him as a mere corporate logo. Positing themselves as the 'Kingdom of Heaven'. Pretending to be 'gatekeepers of salvation'.
When Christ comes again, do you think He is going to go to the Vatican to be received by the 'pope'?
Think again.
One who does this will NOT be the real Jesus of Nazareth. He will be the False Christ of Revelations.
If you feel that "God has called" you to religious fanaticism & street theater.....that 'God' is not the God of Abraham. For He does not in any way condone Fanaticism; it is of the Evil One.
Pray, in secret as He taught, for the conversion of those favoring Abortion. But do material charity without judgment or shaming, as He taught.
"If I have all faith but lack charity, I am but a sounding brass; a tinkleing cymbal...".
How do what we support financially? How do you know whether or not these people do anything? What gives the notion that you actually know what these people do or don't do? Omniscient One? I think not.
Jesus instructed His Apostles to rely upon God for all their material needs - and He supplied them.
The early Church continued in this correct mode, until a minority of bishops sold out the Church to Mammon at Nicea in 325AD, becoming a state religion.
The Church needs nothing except the Spirit of the Living God.
Sadly, the Vatican went upon a demonic trajectory away from the Gospel via Constantine....and thus serves Mammon.
And I ask you again: have you given up your money and your possessions yet? You're the one who keeps calling for others to do that. Christ did not. He called certain people to give up everything and follow Him. I can't pretend to know who God calls and what He calls them to. Has He called you to give up everything? Have you answered Him? He has called me to give up much. And I have. I still have some possessions. I offer it all to Him along with my whole being for Him to use as He wills.
Christ very specifically ordered His Apostles NOT to have or own MONEY or WORLDLY GOODS. That all their needs would be supplied by Providence. It is very clearly spelled out.
Prior to Constantine, the clergy & bishops did thus...& thus had the spiritual & physical healing powers given by Christ to the Apostles.
They lost these at Nicea, when they sold the Ekklesia to Mammon, becoming a state religion.
@19lfm12 Yeah, and according to your moronic illogic no one should do good in public. So if you are a congressman you had better do evil. LOL, you are smart!
Yeah, it is sooooo selfish to defend defenseless babies. You are so ignorant and the only thing that exceeds your stupidity is your arrogance while being a self righteous f*cking *sshole and a complete coward. Shut up you brainless pussy.
@azurebeowulf Jesus said: "when you pray, go into your room, shut the door & pray to your Father in Heaven who hears in secret...when you do charity, do it in secret - that your Father who sees in secret shall see...do not pray/do charity so as to be seen of men.."
Which part of the Gospel is confusing to you? Protesting, howling, ranting at 'sinners' is the Inverse of the Gospel. Pro-Life street theater serves Satan - not God.
You do not trust the Holy Spirit to convert whom He Wills.
I am a Canadian so Obama is not my concern but I am a Catholic and some of the comments on here show such unbelievable ignorance that they aren't worth addressing because lack of knowledge regarding the church would make it useless. I think every mother considering abortion should be given a detailed discription of the procedure with visuals. Explain how the tiny arms are sucked away from the body and the hearbeat that exists, then decide.
The Church should divest itself of its vast, illgotten wealth & give it without question or hesitation to the poor, as Jesus taught. Women consider abortion as it is an economic issue; they cannot AFFORD to have the baby.
Thus, abortion is the direct fault of the Vatican, as it refuses to share with its hungry brothers & sisters.....and then in utter hypocrisy, calls them sinners for acting out of desperation...
Churches all over the world are giving to the poor but it's up to all of us to help the poor and it just goes back to the same reason for abortion, greed. We can't afford a baby but we can afford to kill a baby. Why blame the Vatican , we are all responsible for the mess of this world if we lived as Jesus taught we wouldn't be preforming abortions. Woe to you who hurt these little ones of mine better for that man that he had never been born. Quote that!
You can't blame any one organization for the poor of this world and you don't know anything about me or who I support. My life is devoted to caring for the sick and especially the poor. I support Mothers as I have adopted their children and sang their praises everyday to the children I call my own because they are the heros in my eyes. I do not agree with you and you do not agree with me but that's ok. I will pray for you and I ask you to pray for me as I deal with cancer and am done responding
Since the Vatican claims to be the successor(s) to the Apostles, the care of the poor is solidly in their lap. To say otherwise denies the Gospel. This is not a matter of 'agreeing'; this is reality.
Oh, you who call others pharisees. You can talk when you have divested yourself of your own wealth. Til then, all I hear is dry bones rattling in a hot desert wind.
I could care less about who she is, if she was dishonest or coerced, or is now "born again" and has gotten rid of the EVIL GAY DEMONS IN HER SOUL. Should that matter? The Roe vs. Wade case was not about HER, it was about every woman that has been raped, and her right to choose what to do with her pregnancy. So yeah, she's renounced lesbianism, renounced pro-choice... But I'm a person too and I renounce her POV as weak and illogical at best, and will stick the logical decision of Roe vs. Wade.
robobrow is right - the case was about the issue, the principle, and represented the right of all women to make the decision. Another woman could just as easily have been chosen at the time to bring the case. So it doesn't really matter whether she renounced herself... who cares?
Wow this woman is a joke... It's a good thing we don't judge causes by their proponents because you know, her whole stance as an opponent of abortion is now based on FALLACY. I'm sorry but I'm not about to let some yokel tell me that I should stop being Pro-Choice because of some person's stance. I'd rather THINK ABOUT IT MYSELF AND USE LOGIC TO DEDUCT WHAT I BELIEVE. The fallacy is judging the people and not the actual ideal they believe in.
Norma McCorvey now admits that she lied in order to advance her case in Roe. So, is she now an "honest liar" when pandering for the anti-choice crowd for pecuniary gain?
Norma did not lie, nor did she say she lied. The liars are the media who have concealed the facts of this case for years. Sarah Weddington, the Roe lawyer was a liar. When she came to my town, we did a press conference and the press hid the fact that Jane Roe (norma) released her daughter for adoption and never had an abortion. Norma was a woman used by the pro-abortion elitists.
Richard Ostling. "A second religious conversion for 'Jane Roe' of Roe vs. Wade", Associated Press (10-19-98): "She confessed that her tale of rape a decade before had been a lie; she was simply an unwed mother who later gave the child up for adoption.".
McCorvey, Norma. Testimony to the Senate Subcommittee on the Constitution, Federalism and Property Rights (01-21-98), : "The affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court didnt happen the way I said it did, pure and simple."
Substitute Notre Dame with Selma, Fr. Weslin with Martin Luther King, Jr. Then look at the arresting officers. More gentle, in that they didn't beat the crap out of Fr. Weslin, but the situation is the same: when power gets confronted, it sends in the guys with the handcuffs and hauls you away.
MLK cannot be compared to Weslin. King was not an opportunist fanatic; he was peacefully protesting a legitimate inequity. Weslin has made a 20+ year business of encouraging rreligious fanaticism & literal terrorist activity.
King's activities were justified by the Gospel.
Weslin's are not; for he cloaks his actions in false piety as 'prayer'. Wanna pray?
"Do not do as the hypocrites praying loudly on streetcorners to be heard by men. When you pray go to your room & pray in secret".

I hope all of you know that this was a stunt to get arrested.
It was their intention from the start to be arrested
.
It also proves that freedom is alive and well in the united States by seeing a priest arrested at Notre Dame for protesting without permission.
Being a priest does not make one immune to being arrested for protesting without permission
Actongue 1 year ago 6
@Actongue Thank you for using logic & common sense! The pro-lifers are all about street theater & INTENDING to be arrested. There is no denying this.
If you protest on private property without the permission of the owner, you are liable to arrest for trespassing, creating a public nuisance, etc. Just because one is a priest does NOT place him above the law.
This whole charade is nothing but a pre-planned pity party!
19lfm12 10 months ago
@Actongue Hey dumb ass, it is public property one day and the next Notre Lame want it to be private, screw you moron, get a clue.
azurebeowulf 10 months ago
@azurebeowulf
Before making absurd statements, it is best to check out the facts and the rules ND has in place when it comes to protesting.
In order to protest on ND Property everyone from the Staff to the Students need to get permission to protest on school grounds.
If the priest wanted to walk on campus and talk to the Presidentof ND about his feeling that is not protesting.
When the same priest is with a group marching on campus that is protesting, hence he needs permission.

19lfm12 1 year ago
Very Very ironic that a catholic priest (pro-life) gets "arrested" and Obama (pro choice) gets "invited" to a Catholic University (Notre Dame) that teaches pro-life. Lots of hypocrisy and irony here to be found.
Not surprising the "devil" hates babys and seeks to kill them (abortion) is it?

yeah I agree with christainwigg. Stephwigg09 that was a wonderful way to stand up for what was right. I dont see how she is a liar either. haha its insane and really dumb. so like I said you should drop it hun.
ashleynv09 2 years ago
"Lifers" have a rather well known record - both on here & in real life - of making overt or implied threats against those who would dare to disagree with them....or show them that their mode & attitude is utterly condemned by Christ.
I have already forgiven & forgotten the comment in question. Thus the matter is closed.
Now, let us attend to the key issue: that the mode, tactics & spiritual mindset of Lifers is contrary to Christ & the Gospel.
19lfm12 2 years ago
Peaceful protest? Contrary? You are way off base.
kieranshane 2 years ago
If that was directed at me....NO, I do NOT think this was in any way legitimate or peaceful protest. These ppl are Fanatics who are being misled & this has ZERO to do with what Jesus teaches in the Gospel! There is nothing 'spiritual' about the tactics of pro-lifers; they have been led into hatred, which is NOT of Christ.
If they wish to pray, then do as Christ taught & do so in secret where God will hear them. Then DO as Christ taught & give material charity to the pregnant moms!
19lfm12 2 years ago
I don't see hatred; I see peaceful protest. Wakling and praying is peaceful; vandalism and bombs and murders are not. Jesus prayed in public as well as in private. Staying home and praying is not a protest, that is just prayer.
kieranshane 2 years ago
You are blind.
- Jesus Christ
19lfm12 2 years ago
Yes, when praying we can pray and give alms in secret, but when you want to stop baby killing, you protest. Their not praying for themselves, they are trying peacefully to make change.
kieranshane 2 years ago
@kieranshane Any fool who thinks that doing what Jesus taught - to pray in secret - does not work or is not effective enough...does not believe in God.And is denying the power of the Holy Spirit - the unpardonable sin.
Pray in secret for the conversion of those involved in abortion; & that the women be converted AND given the material assistance they need to keep/raise the child. Then GIVE THEM UNLIMITED MATERIAL ASSISTANCE - without shaming or preaching.
19lfm12 10 months ago
Obviously you are playing a game here & covering up for the OBVIOUS threat in those words.
Pro-Lifers are NOT following Christ & the Gospel! They have been made into fanatics.
Pray in secret, as Jesus taught - & God will hear. DO in public.....DO material charity, so the pregnant moms can afford to have the child (the MAIN reason they seek abortion is material want).
If you DO this, God will provide the internal Grace of conversion.
...but not by political action!
19lfm12 2 years ago
You don't know her, and you don't know what her intensions where. So how about from now on you keep your comments on topic, and stop attacking young girls who have no cruel intensions towards you. I believe that was a highly unprofessional thing to do. Maybe if you had argued with a little more facts instead of pulling the "your attacking me" card your opinions would have actually been important to other readers. Now, instead of the topic, readers have to hear this dispute.
stephwigg09 2 years ago
"Maybe if you had argued with a little more facts..."
It would seem that the words of Jesus Christ in the Gospel are not...."facts".
Key Point: the Gospel is what salvation hinges upon. It is what defines being a Xtian. It is, literally & totally, "The Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven".
...but you reject this as 'not fact'.
Apparently when the publically known record of Weslin (for some 20+ years) is cited, that is not 'fact' either......
19lfm12 2 years ago
As far as her actual comments go, I can assure you that her intensions were strictly to warn you of how others might take your comments. For her to blatantly disagree with you, and still be concerned enough to offer her warnings to you, it took a lot of character, something you obviously don't have. You are the one who seems to be attacking her. If you wish to express your opinions you shouldn't take others' so personally. Futhermore, you had no place calling her a liar.
stephwigg09 2 years ago
Anyone who can read these words can see plainly that what was stated by her was a thinly veiled threat. Similar behavior has been observed on here by other Lifers.
Perhaps the careful reading of the words of Christ from the Gospels, quoted below, would be of benefit......
19lfm12 2 years ago
19lfm12,
The sin of omission is no less offensive to God than a sin of commission. Shame on you for serving Satan, in the name of Jesus Christ repent and ask for forgiveness.
azurebeowulf 2 years ago
Even those with the best of intentions can unwittingly be serving Satan........be they lay of cleric.
The whole 'anti-abortion' movement is founded in Fanticism, which Christ condemned. Most in it have NO clue what agenda they serve.
The correct solution to Abortion is: 1. prayer, 2. material assistance to the women. Both together. Mere words or token efforts do not qualify as #2.
Otherwise you share the condemnation in Matthew 23:4-5
19lfm12 2 years ago
You are the one that you condemn. My actions have been seen in public and you are the one talking in cyberspace, no less. Do tell what you have done? Do tell what the Bible says to do for the innocent being murdered? Doesn't the Bible tell us to treat murder like it is murder? Did not Christ say "to render unto Ceaser what is Ceaser's," but then Christ says "render unto God what is God's." Did not Peter "say it is better serve God rather than man" and radically defy the law of that land?
azurebeowulf 2 years ago
Christ neither set up an earthly kingdom (as our friends at the Vatican have done), nor did He incite to riot. The Gospel is about changing yourself - not society.
Try reading it.....
It is also irony that ye can get all worked up over an obvious secular agenda (inspired by Opus Dei), yet kill millions in war after war with impunity.
And support & enable the murder of both body AND soul....in clerical sex abuse.
Physician - heal thyself!
19lfm12 2 years ago
Are you beyond incorrigible? Did God not say thou shalt not murder? Did God say you can end a life anytime you choose? When do you trump God and know better the biological processes than he? And actually, sir you are virulently ignorant at best. When you say fanaticism you don't mean like when Christ flipped tables and used a whip on people in the temple do you? You surely wouldn't include when God made a covenant with Phinehas for killing 2 sinners in Num.25 as being fanatic? God not fanatic?
azurebeowulf 2 years ago
@azurebeowulf "Did God not say thou shalt not murder?"...perhaps that question should be put to those concerned: the Vatican Masters & their secular 'yes-men'. Let us hear what Jesus saith to them:
"For upon you shall fall all the just blood spilled upon the earth since Abel....behold: I shall send you scribes & prophets whom you shall scourge, persecute & murder..."
As to what Jesus did to the Mammon in the Temple; were He here in the same mode, He would do the same...to the Vatican.
19lfm12 10 months ago
19lfm,
Bottom line is Matt. 25:40, when you get to heaven Christ will ask you why, when he was being murdered, you were praying and did nothing to stop him from being murdered.
azurebeowulf 2 years ago
"Christ will ask why He was being murdered"
You mean by:
1. Countless Vatican enabled wars?
2. Bloody monarchies & Fascist regimes enabled by the Vatican?
3. Inquisitions
4. Conquest & plunder 'in God's Name'?
5. Murder of countless souls over decades if not centuries by Catholic clerical sex abuse?
6. Abortions caused by the selfishness of the Church in refusing to give its wealth to the poor mothers - so they could AFFORD to have/keep the kids?
All due to Fanaticism....
19lfm12 2 years ago
@19lfm12 Have you given your wealth to the poor mothers? Or are you only interested in the Church giving away "her" wealth, which is used to help millions of people, Catholic and non-Catholic, all over the world every day through works of charity. Your statements are evidence of delusion and utter disregard for the facts.
DiscipleOfChrist96 1 year ago
The Vatican gives mere lip service to the Gospel & has since the 4th century. What little is done is for fundraising photo ops & 'convert ot eat' programs.
As the wealthiest entity on earth which claims 'divine authority' it falls upon them to do what Jesus taught....not merely use Him as a corporate logo.
What you write indicates a lack of comprehension of the Gospel & Fanaticism...which is what Christ repeatedly & pointedly condemned.
19lfm12 1 year ago

Which part of the Gospel is confusing to you?
19lfm12 1 year ago
If you're trying to rile me, you'll have to try harder. Murder may be a choice, but it is hardly a "free" one and certainly is not moral. Apparently that part of the Gospel confuses a great many people, including you.
DiscipleOfChrist96 1 year ago
Man has completely free will, as given by God, to obey & love Him....or not. It's that simple. One is free to sin; tis a choice. With consequences if not repented of.
The Vatican only proves time & again that Christ spoke the words of Matthew 23 prophetically against its Administrators:
"You lay unsupportable burdens upon men's shoulders, but a finger of your own you will not lift......you do not observe the weightier things of the law: justice & mercy...".
19lfm12 1 year ago
I'm not reading justice or mercy in any of your words. I'm reading conceit and unbelievable arrogance, coupled with the delusion that you can read hearts and minds. Methinks you could use a little Gospel reading yourself. Then try practicing what you've been preaching.
Have you given away your money and possessions yet?
DiscipleOfChrist96 1 year ago
...the Gospel according to the possessed Escriva? Or one of the many Opus Dei/LC drones you favor?
They are not of God; God is merely useful to them.
The Abortion issue is being manipulated from both sides by Opus Dei & its many front operations. Useful idiots are doing the protesting. But this is a political leverage tool to gain civil power in the US.
A very interesting game is in play - and you are a pawn.
19lfm12 1 year ago
I agree that the abortion issue is being used to gain political power. I am not a member of Opus Dei. Are you a fan of Dan Brown's Duh Vinci Code? That helps me understand where you got these bizarre notions of the Church.
DiscipleOfChrist96 1 year ago
The only thing true in Da Vinci is the mode, attitude & power of the Vatican Administration & the Opus Dei.
All else is pure fiction.
But the mode & attitude are the Leaven of the Pharisees.
19lfm12 1 year ago
Dan Brown's writings have been quite a boon to Opus Dei.
One of the neatest tricks is to have an author do cleverly constructed pieces, from which you may emerge smelling like a rose.
It's an old game.......:)
19lfm12 1 year ago
In your fanatical focus on money, aren't you forgetting something? The evangelical counsels are three, not one: poverty, chastity and obedience. The point is to be free of attachment to worldly things and to be open to God. Speaking of poverty, the Church is the largest charitable organization in the world.
Oh, forgot to ask you: have you given away your money and possessions? Practicing what you preach yet?

@DiscipleOfChrist96 Apparently Catholic Priests & Bishops neither comprehend no live the Gospel as they systemically engage in child rape & torture, and enable & cover it up.
Clerical Sex Abuse is the murder of souls - far worse then abortion ever could be!
19lfm12 10 months ago
@azurebeowulf Perhaps you should try actually READING Matthew 25, as it applied to you & the 'oh-so-pious' Catholics. Jesus makes it VERY clear that to those who were MERCIFUL to others, even their enemies - who lived in genuine Charity - there is salvation.
But to the 'pious ones' who are not of the Gospel: He says to you who heed Him not:
"Lord, Lord, open to us!' But He answering said: 'Amen I say to you, I know you not'"
19lfm12 10 months ago
@azurebeowulf And you neither understand the Gospel nor believe in God.....nor the power of the Holy Spirit.
If you pray for someone's conversion, sincerely & in secret as Christ taught, then you are entrusting their soul to God. Pro-lifers have no faith, as they do not TRUST in God to do what is needed. Lack of trust = NO FAITH.
Further, pro-lifer rallies & street theater do NOTHING to help the women in crisits pregnancy.

Concern yourself with what Christ teaches in the Gospel, rather then mindlessly quoting pious sounding prayers in Latin - as if that in some manner exalted yourself or this spiritually misguided 'cause'.
You know not what you are doing - or serving.
19lfm12 2 years ago
And how is it that you can read another person's heart and mind, 19? With such gifts you could use them to heal others instead of spreading vileness.
DiscipleOfChrist96 1 year ago
My initial comments on this thread were a call AWAY from the Phariseeism of the Catholic Church's lifer groups, back to the truth of the Gospel, which its members at least superficially confess.
To give unlimited material aid to women in crisis pregnancy - without obligation, shaming or forced conversion. As Christ intended. Thus eliminating any perceived 'need' for abortion.
Thus being Christ for others.
19lfm12 1 year ago
There is no "need" for abortion now and never has been. There is no need to murder defenseless babies, whether one is a Christian or not, one should understand that.
Have you given all your money away yet? Have you followed Christ to the full like that yourself yet?
DiscipleOfChrist96 1 year ago
...typical Escrivan rhetoric to deflect any possible critique of the Vatican & the lifer groups, run by drones of Opus Dei & the LC/RC & their various ancillaries......
Of course, we cannot possibly allow any criticism of the Vatican, its 'groups' & policies/modes of operation.
The point remains: the Vatican has utterly failed to evangelize properly & to teach the Gospel by personal example.
It has not served God.
19lfm12 1 year ago
I've actually read very little Escriva. Your knowledge of the Church is scanty and bizarre. I question your source as well as your motives. And I repeat, if you're trying to rile me, you'll have to do much better than this. Exactly what is your experience of the Church and of the Vatican? Other than reading some bad works of fiction, I mean.

@DiscipleOfChrist96 You & your fellow 'lifers' here make it clear that you have NO Faith, and that you do not trust God to do what you ask for in prayer. Nor do you do as He taught.

19lfm12 2 years ago
I share your sentiments about the national Catholic Charities organization. That's why I support our local Catholic Charities in our diocese. Admin costs are 7%, almost all our dollars go directly to the people who need it most. I don't give a dime to the national group.
But do let's acknowledge the difference between those called to be apostles and those who serve in other vocations. I know friars and nuns who gave away everything. But few of my Christian friends in the world have. And you?
DiscipleOfChrist96 1 year ago
19lfm12 1 year ago
I agreed with you that the national CC has huge problems, though I may see other problems with them than you. Our local CC is not part of the national group and our bishop is not like some of the other bishops in the USCCB. Thank God! But, I repeat, do let's distinguish between apostles and others. The successors to the apostles are the bishops, not you and not me. Unless you are a bishop.
DiscipleOfChrist96 1 year ago
Thus it is to the Bishops that Jesus says:

19lfm12 2 years ago
I was not threatening you I was making a biblical reference you know "judge not lest ye also be judged". To make accusations against pro-lifers and the church like this when you are doing being just as narrowminded and harsh towards an opposing view is putting yourself at risk of being judgemental. What I posted earlier was not meant to be a personal attack on you, it was meant to explain and defend what I believe to be the protestors motives, I'm sorry if you felt threatened by my remark.
christianwigg 2 years ago
You are obviously lying & trying to cover your tracks. That statement was an obvious & direct threat against me.
Further, you are calling Christ a liar & 'narrow minded'; for it is He who condemns what the Church & lifers do & say. The classic ruse of this out of context quote is to silence opposition to the Church's agenda.
In the Gospel Jesus makes it very clear that no man has the right to judge the final destination of a soul - but that one may obviously judge the morality of actions.
19lfm12 2 years ago
I caught your meaning, christianwigg, and understood that you meant that 19 was putting his/her soul at risk. Perhaps he/she is not as familiar with the Gospel as he/she would have us believe.
DiscipleOfChrist96 1 year ago
The Gospel is the teaching of Christ. That finds its core in the Sermon on the Mount & the Beatitidues, as expounded in the Parables.
That is ALL the Gospel is. That is what the Vatican has failed miserably to communicate for 1700 years. Instead it has used God as a medium of control - as Christ predicted they would.
The Gospel is NOT doctrine or dogma, nor Canon Law. Or any of the other Phariseeical add-ons of the Vatican.
19lfm12 1 year ago
"Take care that you do not do your justice before men to be seen by them; otherwise you shall not have a reward of your Father in heaven......and when you pray do not be like these hypocrites that love to stand in the synagogues & street corners, to be heard of men. Amen, I say to you: they have received their reward..."
Naturally these words of Christ will be flagged, 'thumbed-down' or deleted - as they utterly condemn the pro-life activists.
19lfm12 2 years ago
Luke 8:16 No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light." We are commanded to spread the Gospel and to share the light of Christ with everyone, all creatures, everywhere. In public, at home, everywhere.
Try again.
DiscipleOfChrist96 1 year ago
Self-serving street theater is not the Gospel. Nor shall it be construed to be 'spreading the Gospel'. It is Fanaticism in action.
Such crap drives ppl away from God, not to Him.
Through the Gospel Jesus asks us to change ourselves.....not the world. What part of this do you not comprehend?
19lfm12 1 year ago
Well, in my experience in the self-serving street theater of which you speak, I've had an opportunity to witness to many many people. Some mocked and scoffed, some wanted to argue, some wanted to really understand, and one even almost tried to run me down with his car. But even in that last case, I was able to talk with people about the sanctity of all human life. And all of us were able to show the ancient enemy that we will not be intimidated into silence.
DiscipleOfChrist96 1 year ago
Christ in no way mandated much less approved of such 'witness' & street theater. If someone tried to run you down, that was God's Will......in an attempt to give you a hint:
"Which part of My Son's Gospel do you not understand?"
Rather then such pious 'argument", show the mercy & love of God to women in crisis pregnancy & provide unlimited, free material support - so they can AFFORD to have the child.
That is what the Gospel calls for....not self serving protests.
19lfm12 1 year ago
Christ in now way mandated much less approved of the kind of witness you are giving here on YouTube, this is certain. Someone tried to run me down, and I know who he was obeying and it wasn't God.
I do show mercy and the love of God to women in crisis pregnancy. I don't have the financial means to give them unlimited material support. I don't know anyone but God who could do that. Even Jesus didn't heal everyone when He was walking on the earth.
When are you going to reveal what you do?
DiscipleOfChrist96 1 year ago
Nothing happens in heaven or on earth which is not the Will of God. If a car tries to hit you, that is His Will.....His passive Will, wherein evil is 'allowed' to get your attention.
Pain is the megaphone by which God communicates to the deaf.
God has no $. Ppl do. The Vatican does, in contradiction to the Gospel - refusing to give it to the poor. God has been repeatedly calling the Vatican to reform & repentence.
Thus God will now amp up the volume of the megaphone to them....
19lfm12 1 year ago
Christ showed the proper way to "show mercy" when He fed the multitudes. Most of them did not believe in His divinity, identity as Messiah, nor in what He was teaching. BUT...he fed them, attending to their material need without shaming, yelling, scolding. Jew & Roman; believer & pagan alike were fed.
He showed clearly how Providence 'feeds' all, both good & bad. That God has penultimate control over all. All one needs to do is to rely solely upon His power to accomplish all.
19lfm12 1 year ago
@DiscipleOfChrist96 Christ very plainly taught that true religion - that which is acceptable to the Father - is to pray in secret; to give alms in secret. Not in public to 'be seen of men'. Not to seek peer approval or reward from other ppl for such false 'piety'.
The Vatican is the wealthiest entity on earth - it can easily solve world hunger & poverty. Yet it prefers to serve Mammon & glorify itself......while Christ starves in the person of the poor.
19lfm12 10 months ago
As far as Jesus asking us to change ourselves, not the world...Now I think we are getting somewhere. If we change ourselves, we will, of course, change the world. But are you seriously suggesting that we are to take no concern for the world around us? Are we to remain silent while others are being harmed? Are we not to defend the weak and defenseless? We are to help those we can help any way we can. That's what the works of mercy are all about. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
DiscipleOfChrist96 1 year ago
The Gospel neither endorses nor in any way suggests: protesting, street theater, howling & screaming rabble-rousing rhetoric, & calling ppl 'sinners'.
As to 'being silent while others are harmed"....I would suggest a consideration of the Inquisitions & persecutions performed by the Church. Plus the forced conversion, plunder, enslavement, of many ppls with Vatican approval.
None of that in ANY way is of God.
...so much for the "mercy' shown by the Church.
19lfm12 1 year ago
I have never done any of those things. I have been yelled at, mocked, threatened (with a moving car), but I have not responded in like manner. I have prayed quietly while walking up and down the sidewalk. I have responded to hateful words and actions with gentleness and kindness.
So much for the mercy shown by pro-abortion-ers.
DiscipleOfChrist96 1 year ago
You & those like you see such silly street theater as 'living the Gospel'. In point of fact, it is anything but.
Lifers do nothing to meet the serious material need, which is what drives most women to consider abortion in the first place.
As to prayer: "when you pray, do not be as the hypocrites & pray loud prayers on the street corners to be heard of men. They have their 'reward'. When you pray do so in secret, that your Father will hear you in secret..."
19lfm12 1 year ago
Btw, Jesus tossing tables around in the temple when he threw out the moneychangers might have been considered pretty good theater by some. I know I'd like to have seen it.

1. If Jesus were here now, in the mode of Messiah, he would do the exact same thing..

"My house shall be a house of prayer; but you have made it a den of thieves!".
In both the fiscal & spiritual sense....truth.

Forgot to mention once more your misinformed view of history, accusing the Church of taking actions that were actually performed by the civil authorities. More fictions by Dan Brown and other of his ilk.
DiscipleOfChrist96 1 year ago
It is well known historical fact that said civil authorities worked hand-in-glove with the Church. The incidents of interrogation & torture were done by clerics themselves and/or by laymen under clerical supervision. Executions were carried out by the state at the behest of the Church.
....the same mode used to torture & execute Jesus.
Lies & half-truths are not historical facts. Nor is something "true" just because EWTN says so:)

It's clear to me that you accept anything anyone says as long as it insults or misrepresents the Church. It's also clear that you have an axe to grind. I hope you find the healing you obviously need. I sincerely do pray that you will find healing. Really.
DiscipleOfChrist96 1 year ago
You equate 'the Church" - the Vatican organization - with God himself. As if it was all powerful, knowing, wise & could do no wrong. And that it is above any criticism.
You will not end abortion by such self-serving & wasteful activity. It only aggravates things & helps nobody.
You also fail to see that elements linked to the Opus Dei are working BOTH sides of the abortion issue; for political ends. The 'moral highground' is mere....smokescreen.
Fools!
19lfm12 1 year ago
Really, what an imagination. And imagine the good you could do if you chose to. But I know what I have to do. I know what God is calling me to do. I know where He has called me to be. I don't equate the Church with God. What a notion. Did someone in the Church hurt you, are you just angry in general, or are you simply having a good time spouting all this?
There isn't enough time in the day to refute all your errors. And that would distract me from what I should be doing: listening to Him.
DiscipleOfChrist96 1 year ago

'look you up'?

@19lfm12 BEFORE I was a Pagan (really Animist), I was Protestant, which in most cases means Anti-Catholicism is preached, which always made me suspicious of motive, but I "went along to get along". The Catholic Church you describe doesn't exist. I joined the one that does, which is the MOST charitable entity on the planet.Peace be with u
finishstrongdoc 10 months ago
@finishstrongdoc Unfortunately you are doing what most Catholic have been conditioned to do: confuse the Catholic Faith with the Roman Catholic Church organization/Vatican. The two are not one & the same, and never were. Jesus did not found the Vatican; men did - led by the pagan Constantine.
The Vatican does not believe in the Catholic Faith.
In the real world, what I have described as the reality of the RCC is true in every dioces & nation.
19lfm12 10 months ago
If what you say were true, I wouldn't be Catholic today; you have no idea how hard-headed I am. God's grace, received in the Sacraments(which Jesus gave the Apostles to pass on)changed, is changing my heart of stone. My head remains hard; God likes hard headed, soft hearted converts, who would die for Christ and His Church. St. Joan of Arc, under interrogation and facing death, told her accusers" Don't try to confuse me; Christ & the Church are the same thing".Pagans? They are great converts.
finishstrongdoc 10 months ago
@finishstrongdoc Joan d' Arc was torture, interrogated & murdered by "Holy Mother Church" as she dared to actually believe in & be obedient to God; not the Church Administrators. She was of the 'Catholic Faith'; the Vatican is not. Therefore she was a threat to their power - just as Christ is....thus they use Him as a mere corporate logo.
The Vatican is frightened of any pure soul who actually knows & believes in God, as they - like Joan - condemn them in Christ's Name.
19lfm12 10 months ago
Have Churchmen behaved scandalously in the past? YES. Have laymen ? YES.
Does the Church TEACH error concerning faith & morals? NO.
Joan appealed to the Pope, and was denied that right.
The Church recognizes ST. Joan.
The only RATIONAL conclusion one can make, then, is that everything worked out to glorify God and the Church; the Church admitted ERROR in JUDGEMENT, and CORRECTED the error.
What more do you want? BLOOD?
CHRIST's BLOOD ATONED for ALL sins. The blood of Popes don't save.
finishstrongdoc 10 months ago
@finishstrongdoc Jesus ordered the Apostles to teach the Gospel by their personal example....this applies to those who would claim to be their successors. Obviously their example is NOT the Gospel; therefore they do NOT teach the Gospel!
The Church tortured & murdered Joan d' Arc, as she was a threat to their power...as she was of God. Ditto for Jan Hus. Jesus foretold in Matt23 that the Vatican would kill the prophets He would send to them.
19lfm12 10 months ago
Jesus forgave his crucifiers. I became a Catholic so I could be forgiven as Jesus forgave, and have the power to forgive others their sins against me
. Do you think God makes mistakes? God is a SHARING GOD; Jesus left NONE of His own writings behind; He expected others to follow Him to TELL the Good News. Writing is only ONE way to do that. DOING as Jesus DID is another; that's why we have the Sacraments. There will never be a power in the universe greater than forgiveness..never...ever.
finishstrongdoc 10 months ago
@finishstrongdoc 1) The true core of Christ's teaching is the Sermon on the Mount & Beatitudes. Thus this is the true core of the Catholic Faith
2) Vatican Administration obviously does not believe this, as they do not live it.
3) Sacraments are spiritual aids which impart Grace - IF they are valid....
4) To be saved you must LIVE #1 & be MERCIFUL to others. On this alone does your judgment rests. Not which doctrine or denomination one asserts.....
19lfm12 10 months ago
God's Grace does not annihilate the self; God's Grace is God Himself being imparted to, and received by one OPEN to be Crucified IN Christ. Crucifixion of the Catholic Church is going on NOW, as it has been in every age. Jesus "preached" the Sermon on the Mount FROM the CROSS ! The Crucifixion of Christ did not annihilate the Blessed Mother,St John,or anyone who believed in Jesus' Divinity. Nor did it annihilate Jesus.Hope is in CHRIST ALONE: Saviour/Messiah:RECEIVE HIM,not symbol, but REAL.
finishstrongdoc 10 months ago
@finishstrongdoc The entire message of the Gospel IS about the sublimation of self to God.Perhaps you should read it.....No, Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount/Beatitudes to a large crowd gathered on the side of a mountain.
In His Death Jesus was annihilated; pouring Himself out as the sacrifice for sins. Obedient to the Will of the Father.
You claim to be Catholic yet know nothing of even the most basic sacramental theology.....typical.
19lfm12 10 months ago
There is no suicide in hell, though all desire it there.
All Desire is in heaven, and all desire to live there.
You seem to be very intelligent, but very critical of the intellectual accomplishments of others. I may not know moral theology perfectly, but I know the Catholic Church cannot lie concerning faith & morals. I use analogy to make a point, not to create a theological fine point. Why do you persecute Christ and His Church? What are your motives?God will correct me, not you.I trust Him.
finishstrongdoc 10 months ago
@finishstrongdoc "I know the Catholic Church cannot lie concerning faith & morals". You have been deceived, as this is factually not true. There is more evidence of this historical fact then will fit in this box. Two key examples: the scapegoating of Gays & Jews. The Church has falsely blamed all moral & societal evils on these two groups. In both cases the Church has LIED & twisted Scripture to support their injustice.
The Vatican is neither Christ nor is it in truth 'His Church'.
19lfm12 10 months ago
I suggest you read Jewish convert to Catholicism Roy Schoeman's comments on that in his book "Salvation is from the Jews'. I have an idea if I had been a Jew at the "choice"(Jesus or Barabbas) I would have chosen Barabbas. The "existential dilemma" extends from the Jews as does Salvation itself....this is "hair-splitting", NOT a reversal. The Jews are STILL God's Chosen; they are "Our elder brothers in faith"(JPII). Why God chose me to be Catholic is still a mystery to me,but it is what it is.
finishstrongdoc 10 months ago
In today's"PC" culture, many are afraid to say homosexuality is a sin. The Catholic Church has always followed Scripture and Tradition on that, and warns the world from the Vatican and the Catechism about the consequences of homosex. Jesus would've said the same, and He would have given the gay Jew a chance to repent. I'm sure MOST who have had an authentic encounter with Christ will ask for and be healed by Him of GID. They'd be crazy not to.And if crazy,God can heal that, too.
finishstrongdoc 10 months ago
@finishstrongdoc You have eaten of the Leaven of Opus Dei, which is from hell itself....
Jesus said nothing about gay sex acts or gays. Neither are mentioned in the Commandments which He wrote. Case Closed. It is NOT a sin to be gay, nor do gay sex acts of themselves have ANY religious context. The puny 7 verses in the entire Bibles which mention gay sex acts are in reference to male prostitutes/concubines. Using others as sex toys& wild hedonism is the sin - NOT being gay!
19lfm12 10 months ago
Any single man who is Catholic and follows the teachings of Christ and His One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church will, if he is honest, admit he is tempted every day to sexual impurity...So don't try to sugarcoat this...it's a struggle, but then, so is marriage...you, my friend, need to WAKE UP...YOU are the LIAR here, and you follow the Father of Lies...you may be deceiving the weak-minded and silly, but you don't fool me...get to confession...FAST...
finishstrongdoc 10 months ago
@finishstrongdoc You are willfully ignorant of Scripture & ignoring the very painfully obvious truth of such which have been explained to you.
Christ said NOT ONE WORD about gays; nor is homosexuality mentioned in the Commandments. Do you have a reading comprehension problem? God does NOT condemn gays. Being gay is NOT a sin.
Wild hedonism; using others as sex toys IS a sin...for str8 AND gay persons.
19lfm12 10 months ago
The point I was trying to demonstrate, which you took literally, was that conversion doesn't destroy human nature, it perfects it...over time. For we Catholics, it's not "Once saved, always saved", but "Once you get to heaven, you're saved."
You can't please all the people all the time. I am not interested in pleasing men, but Christ. The Catholic Church guides me Knowledge doesn't save me, Jesus' Blood does.
I am convinced you're smart and hate Catholics. Too bad...that won't get you saved.
finishstrongdoc 10 months ago
@finishstrongdoc You may be sincere, but do not comprehend Scripture & Prophecy. Mary, at LaSalette, Fatima, Garabandal & AKita did not come to praise the Vatican or enable it. She came with God's words of CONDEMNATION of the Vatican. As they have set themselves as rulers over the society of nations (with vast secular cooperators), they are responsible for the state of humanity. Vatican was repeatedly requested by Mary to repent & reform themselves. They ignored her......thus will be destroyed.
19lfm12 10 months ago
I don't see Our Lady's msgs as CONDEMNATORY, as you do, I see them as a warning. Jesus was condemned by the Pharisees;"dirge" or "dance", they still thought he wasn't the Messiah(in the main-some probably KNEW he was and weren't able to overcome cultural conditioning). It's hard to ignore the trajectory of history that runs through the Catholic priesthood and therefore the Vatican.
finishstrongdoc 10 months ago
@finishstrongdoc Obviously then you have neither read what Mary has said, nor do you have any Faith.
19lfm12 10 months ago
@finishstrongdoc Jesus 100% condemned the leaders of Organized Religion. Both in 33AD & now. Every single charge is applicable to the Vatican; even worse then the Pharisees, as the Vatican has influenced so many millions of souls.
..and left a horrid trail of blood & murder in its wake.
19lfm12 10 months ago
@19lfm12 Thank you for the most ignorant and stupid rambling written on a youtube post. It is about the victims.
Those are the babies. Read the story of the "Good Samaritan" and then ask yourself why you would be the damned Levite who walked by and just prayed for the beaten man instead of helping him.
Think about the fact that nothing you have said has made any real sense, except that you are simply wrong.
azurebeowulf 10 months ago
@azurebeowulf In the Parable of the Good Samaritan a pagan/atheist/non-believer is shown as one who is of God, who lives the Gospel, doing what Jesus taught. Not the oh-so-pious Priest or Bishop (Levite).
You do not believe in Jesus as you do not believe what He taught. Read Isaiah 58; then the Gospel. You are to pray & do charity in secret. Trusting God to act; allowing the Holy Spirit to convert those whom He Wills be converted.
Pro-lifers are of the false Gospel of Escriva
19lfm12 10 months ago
@azurebeowulf If you had ANY Faith at all, you would pray as Jesus taught for the conversion of sinners. AND you would give your wealth to the poor...not to Bishops.
If the vast $millions wasted on Lifer garbage was spent to feed, clothe, house & provide unlimited medical care & emotional support for women in crisis pregnancy - without preaching or shaming - then abortion would be a non-issue.
Thus, Abortion IS the fault of Opus Dei & the Vatican.
19lfm12 10 months ago
@finishstrongdoc Catholic Clerical Sex Abuse has been ongoing, rampant & systemic for over 1000 years - with the full knowledge of Vatican Administrators. This is a fact of history, which no amount of lies from Opus Dei can erase!
One cannot have any faith in God & at the same time knowingly enable sex abuse of the innocent. Of this the Vatican Administration IS guilty. They blamed the entire Jewish ppl for the death of Christ - when it is their spiritual predecessors who are guilty....!
19lfm12 10 months ago
If I were to tell you I was a victim of male rape, and I have forgiven my rapist through the grace God allows to pass through the hands of a Catholic Priest in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, you would find it unbelievable. But it would be true. Lots of things lots of people believe to be true are not. God cannot lie or be lied to. Liars go to hell. Why would I lie?
finishstrongdoc 10 months ago
@finishstrongdoc May God have mercy upon your abuser & give you His peace.
Indeed, the sacraments are very real. The priest is merely a vessel, as all Sacraments are effected by the power of the Holy Spirit; not the priest himself. The key is the conscious projection of the valildating intention of the Sacrament, unlocking the action of the HS. WIthout that, no Sacrament is valid.
Remember: God forgave you, not the priest.
19lfm12 10 months ago
Is Jesus real? Did Jesus lie? Are the Sacraments real? Do the Sacraments impart Christ Himself? Upon Christ does the Catholic Church depend,as does the whole PHYSICAL world depend on Him for existence. "Sooner the Universe would pass away than the Eucharist."~ST Padre Pio~
I was not sexually assaulted by a priest, but by a gay Jewish man in SF, who deceived & drugged & raped me. Yrs later I came back to kill him, instead I went hiking in the Sierras got lost was saved by a miracle. +Euch= Christ+
finishstrongdoc 10 months ago

Or mine.
finishstrongdoc 10 months ago
@finishstrongdoc Opus Dei & their willing Collaborator Herr Ratz are indeed offering you an 'Ark'...from hell itself. Cloaking itself in the garb of false religion, pretending that they are of God & speak with His authority.
They do not, as they do not believe in Him; thus do NOT in any way represent Him. They have not Truth within them, therefore are NOT of the Truth.
The only 'ark' the sole refuge is in God....not men, groups & systems pretending to be 'officially endorsed by God'.
19lfm12 10 months ago
You sound like a man who is drowning...save yourself...you have rejected the Ark....Here..I'll throw you a "lifeline"...get to confession FAST...before you go under......you'll have to take your complaints up with Him when you get your Judgement...Now, if you'll excuse me , I have a CATHOLIC conscience to examine...Peace be with you.....*+*+*+*

19lfm12 10 months ago
Ah - how holy is the Vatican.
19lfm12 1 year ago

Do as Jesus Christ commands; not as Escriva.
19lfm12 1 year ago
McCorvey has been converted to Fanaticism - not to Christ. By the de facto ancillaries of Opus Dei, which is the mother of such abominations.
For her to repent & seek God is good. But she has been led into what Jesus foretold:
"Woe to you Scribes & Pharisees, for you go round the land & sea to make a convert; & once made he is twice as fit for hell as you are yourselves!".
She needs to leave the lifers & seek the REAL Jesus, in whom is only love & mercy.

How do what we support financially? How do you know whether or not these people do anything? What gives the notion that you actually know what these people do or don't do? Omniscient One? I think not.
DiscipleOfChrist96 1 year ago
Jesus instructed His Apostles to rely upon God for all their material needs - and He supplied them.
The early Church continued in this correct mode, until a minority of bishops sold out the Church to Mammon at Nicea in 325AD, becoming a state religion.
The Church needs nothing except the Spirit of the Living God.
Sadly, the Vatican went upon a demonic trajectory away from the Gospel via Constantine....and thus serves Mammon.

And have you given your money away yet and all your worldly goods to follow Christ to the full? Have you? I will keep asking you. Have you?
DiscipleOfChrist96 1 year ago
The greater judgment will fall upon those who claim to do & be 'in the Name of God', yet use Him & His Word for their selfish ends.
19lfm12 1 year ago
And I ask you again: have you given up your money and your possessions yet? You're the one who keeps calling for others to do that. Christ did not. He called certain people to give up everything and follow Him. I can't pretend to know who God calls and what He calls them to. Has He called you to give up everything? Have you answered Him? He has called me to give up much. And I have. I still have some possessions. I offer it all to Him along with my whole being for Him to use as He wills.
& you?
DiscipleOfChrist96 1 year ago

Shut up you brainless pussy.
azurebeowulf 10 months ago
@azurebeowulf Jesus said: "when you pray, go into your room, shut the door & pray to your Father in Heaven who hears in secret...when you do charity, do it in secret - that your Father who sees in secret shall see...do not pray/do charity so as to be seen of men.."
Which part of the Gospel is confusing to you? Protesting, howling, ranting at 'sinners' is the Inverse of the Gospel. Pro-Life street theater serves Satan - not God.
You do not trust the Holy Spirit to convert whom He Wills.
19lfm12 10 months ago
I am a Canadian so Obama is not my concern but I am a Catholic and some of the comments on here show such unbelievable ignorance that they aren't worth addressing because lack of knowledge regarding the church would make it useless. I think every mother considering abortion should be given a detailed discription of the procedure with visuals. Explain how the tiny arms are sucked away from the body and the hearbeat that exists, then decide.
yarg2 2 years ago
Better idea:
The Church should divest itself of its vast, illgotten wealth & give it without question or hesitation to the poor, as Jesus taught. Women consider abortion as it is an economic issue; they cannot AFFORD to have the baby.
Thus, abortion is the direct fault of the Vatican, as it refuses to share with its hungry brothers & sisters.....and then in utter hypocrisy, calls them sinners for acting out of desperation...
...desperation caused by the Church's greed.
19lfm12 2 years ago
Churches all over the world are giving to the poor but it's up to all of us to help the poor and it just goes back to the same reason for abortion, greed. We can't afford a baby but we can afford to kill a baby. Why blame the Vatican , we are all responsible for the mess of this world if we lived as Jesus taught we wouldn't be preforming abortions. Woe to you who hurt these little ones of mine better for that man that he had never been born. Quote that!
yarg2 2 years ago
1. As the Vatican is the wealthiest entity on earth & claims successorship to the Apostles, the care of the poor falls in their lap.
2. Most churches give mere lip service, if that..., to caring for Christ's poor.
3. The Vatican, by making a business of the Gospel rather the living it, is responsible for the state of the world.
4. If you truly cared about babies, then you would support their mothers - so they can AFFORD to raise them.
5. MT23 applies to the Vatican Administrators.....
19lfm12 2 years ago
You can't blame any one organization for the poor of this world and you don't know anything about me or who I support. My life is devoted to caring for the sick and especially the poor. I support Mothers as I have adopted their children and sang their praises everyday to the children I call my own because they are the heros in my eyes. I do not agree with you and you do not agree with me but that's ok. I will pray for you and I ask you to pray for me as I deal with cancer and am done responding
yarg2 2 years ago
Since the Vatican claims to be the successor(s) to the Apostles, the care of the poor is solidly in their lap. To say otherwise denies the Gospel. This is not a matter of 'agreeing'; this is reality.
For the good you do, may God indeed bless you.

Wade.
robobrow 2 years ago
robobrow is right - the case was about the issue, the principle, and represented the right of all women to make the decision. Another woman could just as easily have been chosen at the time to bring the case. So it doesn't really matter whether she renounced herself... who cares?
ytcarol 2 years ago
Wow this woman is a joke... It's a good thing we don't judge causes by their proponents because you know, her whole stance as an opponent of abortion is now based on FALLACY. I'm sorry but I'm not about to let some yokel tell me that I should stop being Pro-Choice because of some person's stance. I'd rather THINK ABOUT IT MYSELF AND USE LOGIC TO DEDUCT WHAT I BELIEVE. The fallacy is judging the people and not the actual ideal they believe in.
robobrow 2 years ago
Norma McCorvey now admits that she lied in order to advance her case in Roe. So, is she now an "honest liar" when pandering for the anti-choice crowd for pecuniary gain?
BenAliGtor 2 years ago
Norma did not lie, nor did she say she lied. The liars are the media who have concealed the facts of this case for years. Sarah Weddington, the Roe lawyer was a liar. When she came to my town, we did a press conference and the press hid the fact that Jane Roe (norma) released her daughter for adoption and never had an abortion. Norma was a woman used by the pro-abortion elitists.
burchieburch 2 years ago
Oh, really?

Weslin, but the situation is the same: when power gets confronted, it sends in the guys with the handcuffs and hauls you away.
themanhootch 2 years ago
MLK cannot be compared to Weslin. King was not an opportunist fanatic; he was peacefully protesting a legitimate inequity. Weslin has made a 20+ year business of encouraging rreligious fanaticism & literal terrorist activity.
King's activities were justified by the Gospel.
Weslin's are not; for he cloaks his actions in false piety as 'prayer'. Wanna pray?
"Do not do as the hypocrites praying loudly on streetcorners to be heard by men. When you pray go to your room & pray in secret".
