@squirell1952 no. a remix implies it is the same master tracks and the new record is created by the producer. A re-recording would be a whole new record, new vocal, new music etc.... not sure what one this is.

Sometimes I just love when an artist will take one of their classics and take advantage of today's production technology and just take the song to a whole new level...wow.

It's why I'd have to say as a genre, remixes and mashups (a form of remix technically) are my favorite types of music. You'd think you've heard it all before, but you take one song and make like 12 versions of it.. or take two songs and make like 4 different combo mashups.. or sample just parts from 3-4..
