on his fender, bass 9 mid 5 treb 7 rev 4 3/4 vol 3 1/2. the rest i couldnt clearly read. it was said on the tremonti fanpage years ago that he would, when with creed, would have bass 7 mid 5 and treble 9
Am I the only one who's watched this video dozens of times, and still hasn't understood why the Halloween theme song plays while Mark is talking about his Bogner?
I used to play on a line 6 with real similar settings, with a good set of fx pedals solid cables and good mixing equipment including a nice eq you can really get it to sound great.
that's freakin' amazing.. you almost have to be a sound engineer yourself I guess. I guess I agree, cause I am always messing with my sound - unfortunately I don't have all that equipment.
i agree, the tone is awesome! you can ask him how they do it on the fret12 website. he will answer the questions himself via web-cam! take a look, its definitely worth the time!
I'm sorry, Drummer Dude, but I've been there...the tone is quite good! Not having really enjoyed a concert in about a dozen years because of poor toning...that and losing the upper-most frequencies in my hearing, I must say his set up was quite refreshing in person.
don't really think so, what you can do, is hook it up to a wireless system, like the one famous people use on stage plugged to their guitar, but instead of using it on the guitar, you plug it to the wah
No, but with a crybaby rack wah, you can hook up 6 wah controllers to it and spread them. The way tremonti uses three different morleys spread out, i would guess he is using something to buffer the signal so there is no tone loss with those really long cable runs
Yes it is an amazing rig. I guess when you're an A list musician with his budget, you can go BIG with your rig. I personally like Nuno Bettencourt's setup. Really simple but effectively great sounding.
Mark really is really a master of tone, he knows exactly what sound is needed to accompany the nature of the song, which is part of why the songs are so damn good.
wow he has a LOT of preamps hahahah but i love how he has wah pedals all over the stage.
for me i'd just go with a line 6 pod xt (the rack one, i think its called pro) a mesa boogie power amp and hook it up to the line 6 floorboard and 2 marshall cabs. all the effects and tone you need =]
otherwise i'd go with the 2 marshall jcm 800 half stacks, a mark tremonti wah, and a digitech bad monkey over drive.
:D nice man, I agree on all counts, Trimonto even has 2 models with PRS (A normal, and a lower end SE) so I'm sure PRS would love for him to make that video. Gotta say though although PRS is the best feeling neck ever for me, its not the fastest. You ever play a Jackson soloist?
if its not the fastest how can it be the best feeling? do you mean thinnest? i tend to find more comfortable necks more important.
like i've had an ibanez for a while and its got one of the thinnest necks imaginable, but i picked up a PRS copy the other day, its got a fatter neck, but because its more comfortable i played about twice as fast as usual
I get it, there is more to a fast neck then just being thin, did the PRS copy you picked up have Jumbo fret, I find they make you go mush faster, I also find that the finish on the neck makes a difference for me as well. BTW I recently had the chance to play what I consider the best guitar in the world, Don't miss an opportunity to play a Parker Fly its fast, it's comfortable, it's super light and it's full of clever patented features that you can't find on other guitars.
the parker fly has a really narrow headstock, which makes the weight really unusually distributed to the right. i am not used to that but yes, it is a great guitar. um i find oiled necks are a lot faster than painted necks.
Agree with you there too, It's all these things that make my love the Jackson. Which Ibanez do you have an RG? Because I think the RG Wizard II is an incredible neck, I went looking to buy one and I picked up the Jackson on my way over to the Ibanez part of the store and It was a really close race.
I have the GRG, its like an RG but the neck is 1mm thicker and it has powersound pickups. yeah jacksons do have nice necks too but i find they're a bit too flat
interesting rig. would like to know how the amp heads in the rack are wired up in relation to the fender combos out front. does anyone think he switches between the amps individually or are the heads outputs summed together using the combos as stereo slaves?
If I had this amount of money I'd love a rig like this, except I'd probably be worrying about all those pedals and not what I was playing.. hmm. I'd probably stick to a big vox amp, and a switch pedal, yeah thats nice :)
tremonti is a good guitar player and i'm not surprised he do everything to peserve his tone. The markings all over the amps and effects aren't weird.Anyway, everytime he play's a show he's set up fast cause he got everything under control. That's the sign of a true professional :)
ok, prs you need to get your info straight. Im not trying to be a prick but Tremonti does not use "Chorus" effect. Yes he uses Delay, destortion and wah but not Chorus. He said "its doesn't sound natural" thats why he doesnt use it. His sound that you might get confused with "chorus" is a combination with Reverb and delay.
he is keeping it simple. the only pedals he is really using is a delay, chorus, distortion and wah, the big pedal is just a switching board to switch between amps. It is simple and effective
well guitarthroat, you are right to some extent. But pedals do suck tone too. The best solution would be to have pedals hooked up to a looper and have a pedalboard like Mike Tremonti has to make them on and off with one pedal. Pedal dancing is not everyone's cup of tea. To change from dirty to clean with chorus and delay you have to step 3 times or sth. It's just pain the arse
Even though he is not using the same setup with Alter Bridge I still worship the ground Mark Tremonti walks on! Being a guitarist I have always loved what he can do on records! Live performances are truly amazing BUT the tone he has there is not quite the same as on the records. Of course I know you can never 100% replicate what you record on albums but I don´t know...Live is just more "dirty" than on the records!
But his setup is truly inspiring! I just ordered my Triple Rectifier 2 days ago and I am now saving up for a 69 Re-Issue Fender Twin. Why? Because he is not bullshitting when he says it´s the cleanest tone you can ever find! Keep up the great work Mark!!!
It can get pretty confusing with all that technical stuff. Best to just leave it at "guitar plugged straight into a Marshall with everything set to 11"
I agree, Keep it simple...All the digital bullshit looks impressive, but makes the guitar sound like a droid. I love how everyone is so sensitive about opinions on here. They should get a fucking life....
Bradshaw tone sucker rig. These guys get a few hundred thousand bucks and have no idea what real tone is. All the refrigerator rack bullshit doesn't allow the guitar to even come through...Learn from the mistakes of guys like George Lynch in the 80's..They'll tell you..Stomp boxes into a Half-stack, best formula ever...
