@OscarBallz put the HUD in anything but OFF mode, so you see the gear number on the screen next to speed. accelerate while in 1st gear ( or just acc. if ur automatic ), at some point the "1" ( or "N" in automatic ) will glow green, keep holding the accelerator to this point, one the race starts either keep holding or press more, u should get a perfect start.

hope it makes sense, its kinda easy one u get a hang of it

This game is great when you tuned a good car, but it's really frustrating getting one that runs good. The tuning system is ok i guess, but it needs a test track. now you have to do a quick race everytime you make a small change, and you can't save your tunings. Anyone knows where to find some good setups? I'd really like to compare some with my own.

Shift is probably the only real simulator racer the Need for Speed series will ever have. Good Game but I was really let down with the lack of customization. I really enjoyed Pro Street's customization in terms of visuals it is much deeper than shift. But other than that its a great game.

The customization in this game owns every racing game to date, even Forza 3. It's ridiculously deep, as you could tune stuff developers wouldn't think of like Gear Rations, Suspension, and downforce. Screw Forza 3. I'd prefer this over Forza ANYDAY, although I'd choose Gran Turismo over it.

i use advance tuning and manage pretty well. each car has its own sweet spot and believe me it takes hours of racing/tuning the car to suit your demands

things a real life tuner would consider. like getting head work done on your engine, forged internals to allow upping boost pressure and such. oh and crappy tuning will cause you to blow up engines, crash, lose your money, and all the good stuff crappy tuning can cause. things a real life tuner would probably do to squeeze a little more power out of the car and make it stable/unstable.

i like this game, but im really not seeing much of a difference except all the realistic tuning physics. what i really need to see now, is a game that gives you all that realistic physics stuff, but also, all the other realistic stuff to makes a race car a race car: the ability to customize as if the car was really in your garage and you were executing all the upgrades you had planned for it. i'd love to see the ability to upgrade turbo size. you know? or even choosing bigger injectors.
