hi david,thx for the review. i think i'll buy this car instead of myvi..all my friends urge me to buy myvi but after seeing ur review i think i'll buy persona. much more spacious than myvi. and the comment from ppl used this car makes me more confident to buy it, perfomance and value for money. ^^

@85matchan you press the 2nd button on the remote control when the car is already unlocked. If you press the 2nd button when the car is locked you will set off the alarm.

Which is better, David..Gen 2, Saga or Persona?I have a vios.It's Ok all paid off.I've had no problems with it what so ever.But I am always curious about other brands out there though.ahahha I like the design of proton sporty looking.

just followed my brother to perak yesterday....

he uses latar highway(new highway to reach kuala selangor)

..he go for 195km/h with his new persona white H-line auto..shell RON95....

only thing i like this car is,even my friend's vios,going 140km/h(but already shaking)...but this car at 180km/h also looks stable(his old gen2 also shaking when it was new)

worth for money car.....i suggest this is 1 of the top malaysia cars..

It is the best time to get the high-spec persona and saga FLX, cuz proton have pretty much sorted all the problems which began from the waja , savvy , gen-2....10 years of experience went into these two cars...

david...how's the fuel consumption? i heard some people saying, the persona consume a lots of fuel and some says no. so, how's urs? and do you encounter any defaults with the persona like jammed windows and etc? need advise. thanks.

@nabilfaizi AutoCruise allows you to set a speed, and the car will automatically maintain the speed - you don't need to press the accelerator

Hi David, Thanks for the review .. I saved some money for a Honda Jazz but then i saw Proton Persona ... and now I am really in double mind ..I am not a frequent car user may be only on weekends or short trip to shopping centers .. so not sure i should spend more bux on Honda Jazz or Proton would be good cheap option .. got few mates who says when u getting something cheap there wud be some sure catch .. so let me know how is ur persona doing

@prasadsawant82 Ok, i"m not a car enthusiast and for me cars are mainly for utility. Like I said in the video, I find the Persona to be a really value for money buy. It does the job well. It may not be as comfortable as a Honda City or Jazz, so maybe that's the "catch". Plus when you think about it, it's cheaper than a Vios J model which doesn't have leather seats and dual air bags.

@KpgSebobok wow that's quite bad. I realize that the Persona uses more fuel, but I still can get 500km on a full tank (30+ liters, roughly 13sen/km). But if I get stuck in a jam or drive in stop-go-stop-go type of traffic I sometimes only get 350km+ (roughly 18sen/km). You should go do a service

Also, I forgot to mention in my previous comments that I send the car to service on schedule. So far I have completed my 1,000km and 5,000km service.

@KpgSebobok No, I don't use any fuel additive or exhaust modification. I use RON95. Also, I'm quite lucky that I drive a lot on highways. My average speed is 90-100km/h. I checked my car earlier, looks like I will get 450-480km out of this tank of petrol. You should bring the car to Proton to check/complain.

@davidwang It's me again. After the 5,000's service, my persona now burns about 14-18 sen/km (based on actual usage, not on the panel). Well, I must say I am happy with it now. Engine performance seems to have improved drastically, especially when I need it most, like when I have to overtake even at a considerably high speed around 100-120 km/h. Need to rush sometimes. I am pleased that I have made the right choice both in terms of performance and value for money. Syabas Proton.

Hi David! Any major problems at the moment? Common problem for Persona is the knocking sound from the RHS of the engine @ potholes.

@shafiqe No major problems or funny sounds, luckily! in fact the only shortcoming after 3 months is that I wish it was a 1.8 instead of 1.6. Not that I like to drive fast, but sometimes it feels like there's not much pickup..

@aaronfoo hi, so far I'm very pleased with it. There were a few small problems - squeaky brake pedal, stuck door lock release - but both were quickly fixed during my 1st service. I think perhaps the build quality for minor components may not be as good, but the chassis, leather seats, engine all have no problem.
