@DeSurge Interesting that you mention that. Chaka Khan's part was shot separately from the dancers seen here (Chaka never appears in the same shots that the dancers do). The dancers are modeling clothes by Norma Kamali, if I remember correctly, and the video was rejected by Kamali. Watch the video for cameos by Boogalo Shrimp and Poppin' Taco of "Breakin'" and "Breakin' 2" fame.

Make that "Boogaloo Shrimp"--sorry for misspelling your name, Mr. Shrimp. Also, the clothes were considered the height of fashion (then). Everyone wore long skirts in the '80s. Miniskirts didn't really come back in until Elizabeth Shue wore one in "The Karate Kid." I guess there's no accounting for taste.
