sorry to bother you with this, I was just wondering what does that symbol stand for on the 12th fret, it looks awesome and i just purchsed one of these. If anyone know please let me know, I am interested in stuff like that
i think rusty said it was a solar moon eclipse or something like that but that was part of the outworld logo his former band i know that much, if it helped any :/
hey man i love this guitar with a passion!!! can u plz help a out a fellow musician? i really wanna know how much did this guitar cost u just the guitar not the added customized design
I just picked one up this past Sat. I ordered white and got black. The neck is thin, but not as thin as Rusty exclaims. I do not see any ebony fretboard either. Just dark rosewood. I guess for the money it is okay. But nothing I expected, but it is cool.
Let me rephrase that. Mine doesn't look like ebony. Which would be a black fretboard. Mine is brown, not black. The guitar center I ordered it from even said it wasn't an ebony fretboard. They were like "The ebony is only on the USA model" I was like "No, read right her fellas". I heard a few crickets chirping with no response. So they gave me a hundred bucks back.
The Macassar Ebony is a dark brown wood that looks like a dark rosewood. The official specs says that the RC7x have an ebony fretboard, so, there is no reason for yours to be a rosewood.
Besides the fretboard, what is your take on the guitar overall. I have 8 seven strings, I think it is okay. The neck is just like the Ibanez S series to me. What do you think?
here's a quote right from someone who takes lessons from Rusty himself,
"The guitar has an Alder top/body, a maple neck, an ebony fingerboard, Grover tuners, black hardware, and a liscensed Floyd Rose bridge (I take lessons from Rusty and he said the guitar had the liscensed bridge because the normal Floyd Rose doesn't have low profile fine tuners and so is harder to play). "
There are two Rusty cooley signature models, the one made in USA at Dean's custom shop got a Licensed Low Profile Floyd Rose (Takeuchi), and another one which is a Korean made (mine) which has an Original Floyd Rose. We are not talking about the same guitars :)
Sure you can get low action on both. It's just that the fine tunnings at the back of the floyd are lower on the 'Lo-Pro' Floyd types. The influence is on the placement of the hand, depending on how you play guitar. Try it by yourself :)
oh, well i had a regular floyd and my hand never really touched the fine tuners anyway, i was already planning on buying one of these. thanks for the info
would you say it was built good? cuz i definitly want one but it said it was made in korea but i heard if its made in north korea youre fucked but south korea makes them good. so tell me please.
I really like thin necks and this is the thinnest I've ever played. 18mm first fret and 20,5 at 12th fret, for a 7 string it's very thin ! The Neck is totally profiled to have the less material as possible. It's thinner than the Ibanez Universe.
The cutaway is amazing : I can play the 24th fret with my forefinger !!
and this one is made in?

@jefonyx How tall are the frets? Are they like the ones in your Ibanez?
LucasGonzalezTube 1 year ago

Well the frets seems to be medium ones on this guitar. The Ibanez ones were bigger

Is the body of the Rusty Cooley model smaller than an Ibanez 7-string? They look like 6 strings.

hey how do the frets on this one compare to your ibanez rg's frets???

The fingerboard is made with Macassar Ebony I read.
So it's Ebony :)

By the way good riffing, who is that your jamming to?
6plusone7 2 years ago
Thanks, the neck is a bit thinner than the Ibanez I tested (UV777). The Ibanez one seems to be a flap shape whereas the RC7x is a D shape.
jefonyx 2 years ago
@jefonyx would u say this is the best 7??? better than ibanez , shecter and all ??
vgpa09 2 years ago
I think it's one of the best you can get for less than 1000$ !
jefonyx 2 years ago
theres a review of this in a guitar mag and they compare it with a schecter and a prestige ibanez and they said this is the best one out of the group

Jagan7321 2 years ago
Awesome, this is your own material? And the rcx7 has an original floyd and ebony fretboard?
nizamskok 2 years ago
Yes to all !
jefonyx 2 years ago
actually it is a licensed under schaller (pretty much an OFR) because the originals don't come with low pro fine tuners.
spibby 2 years ago
It's not a low profile, it's an Original Floyd Rose 7

my bad than, i dont really know the difference between the two (dimension-wise). Can you still get low action with the OFR?

So how are the frets, are they as big as claimed. They look pretty massive in the video.
psyphre 2 years ago
I don't know what kind of frets are mounted on this guitar, but it's not Jumbo. It's taller than my Ibanez..I think it's medium frets
jefonyx 2 years ago
That doesn't make sense, if they are taller and Ibanez uses Jumbo how can those be medium?
luckyguitar123 2 years ago
Well you must be right, I don't know what kind of frets are on my guitar lol
jefonyx 2 years ago
There even bigger than jumbo

What! 24th fret with your forefinger, thats incredible. I saw Rusty giving an overview about this guitar, I didnt think it was actually all true lol.
Good to see some of your own work too

It's not the most beautiful guitar I've ever seen, I must confess, but it's the most playable.
Believe me, I used to play Ibanez 6 Strings, and now I can't play anymore on such guitars !
