  • In the 90s music in computer games sounds like 80s music ^^

  • E: 5-5-0-0-2-3-3-3-0-1-2

repeat same time again and again...

  • makes me wish i didnt sell my psx and sim city 2000 :(

  • Also, I'd love to see this music in games in concert.

  • I have this game, the music in the PS1 version is the best.

  • SC2K on the PC was soooo fun, i still play it today on my iMac, through Boot Camp on Windows 7 of course, and lucky me i future-proofed myself when i chose the more expensive version of SC2K, which was the special edition back in 1996 which came in a CD, and the standard version came in floppies.

  • This was pro, Sounds so 90's

Now everything sounds all crappy like we dont even have music genre's anymore

  • hay if you have a ps3/psp you can download this!

  • I remember this tune - I would play it all the time lol

  • I play this on Sega Saturn and PSX, sweet memories : )

  • i never could figure out how to play this game. its wicked hard

  • the space ship is steve

  • @matheuslimata

Now that you mention it, Holy goddamn you're right

  • if you have played simcity 2000 and now you play spore when you go to the centre of the galaxy on spore that spaceship apears..... oh by the way that spaceships name is.....steve!

  • old times! good times! this song marked my childhood! :)

  • This song is awesome

for some reason it would make the perfect background music to any "serious" situation that would be happening

  • i have sim city 2000 on my dads pc i love it

  • 56 = smart in selecting music

    2 = idiots in music

  • @TheOriginalClip Shut the fuck up stupid idiot.

  • @xxBillyBones My scouter detects that you are mad.

  • SimCity 2000 musics are like jingles, annoying but sticky.

  • great nostalgia,i remember building cities after cities, marvelling at all the great cities in the world,in short this game is rly good,it develops general knowledge and interests in cities arond the world, being from a single city country,im ashamed to say that almost none of my fellow countrymen know what is outside, its a poty, living in an ivory tower i guess?this game opened my vision to the world for me at a young age, thank you maxis!!!(:

  • Nostaaaaaaaalgia! One of the best games ever, if not the best :')

  • @Silvade14

    >TESIV

  • awesome game :D

  • I'm still glad I kept mine.

  • ah the old games are the bests, in soundtrack, creativity, and many other aspects, no other sim city made me feel like SC2000, or SC 3000 the best sim citys ever maded.

  • @LoboalphaMASTER That's how I feel about The Sims! The sims 2 is way overrated!

  • in Sheldon voice all the simulation carnage

  • Reticulating Splines

  • i love dis song

  • Genius.

  • damm i just love this song!

  • Hm, this sounds different than I remember.. maybe different sound card? I had soundblaster

  • lucaslater o melhor simcity e o Simcity 4 e o Simcity Societies mais tambem e muito bom este

  • Um dos Melhores Sim City, a 1° musica é muito boa.

    Abraços

  • que rumbo

  • which way

  • did will wright also create spore?

  • @FryBubby yes

  • still have this game, still works, still awesome.

  • @chickenfrenzy7 I have it too. maybe the second best. (Apart from sc4, which is the 1st best!)

  • I remember this song, and its been like seven years since i played this game. Good muisic. I love sim city <)

  • yup i had this one :P

  • What is the name of this song?

  • sim city 2000 :P

  • Simcity Segue

  • SC2K had awesome music =D

  • @aabgraba Had? HAS! Check my channel for som timelapses!

  • thank you Will Wright!!

    This game was the best!

Although, I never figured out how to make an economic building, (the big building with trees and others in it) and SCURK or

the Urban Renewal Kit never works! Help Please!!

  • If you mean Arcologies, you needed a very high population (I think 500,000) to construct them and it had to be far in the future, like 2100 for them to be invented.

  • you can buy it in ps store for ps3

  • and for psp

  • Thank you for saying that. I had no idea that it was available for ps3. I always wanted simcity2000 on a console. Thanks again!

  • oh no problem

  • its sounds like killer

  • Its George Michael, right?

  • One of my first PSX Games^^ The SC Series is just great

  • I started playing this again during dull lectures. SC2K is a simple yet great game, easy to play and you can put it down then pick it up again anytime.

I don't mind SC4/SC3K:U; they have their own good points (graphics, cooler emergency dispatch, etc), but SC2K was mostly about the planning -- making you feel like you were a real mayor, basically ;)

  • Tell me about it, I quit playing this game a while ago, actually 9 years ago. Still everytime I watch these gameplay videos, I once a while play simcity 2000. Its like the game doesn't want to give up its originality. Its these unique aspects of the game that never leave your heart.

  • good music and good game

    i prefer 2000.

  • ya damn this was a good game. anyone want it? send ur msn name to alex.spalvieri@hotmail(dot)com and i can send to you for something. like friend request me.

  • its for computer and when i said like friend request me i ment FR me on msn so we can trade sim city 2000 for something and right as u open it boom the installer pops up. its virus free and works great!

  • I prefer this simcity cuz 3000 to easy and 4 is just not right

  • god i remember playing this on my ps 1 when i was little, damn brings back loads of memories

  • me too!

  • @eckoguy72 I loved the "drive through your city" mode on that one ;)

Sure the graphics were poor but the idea of riding around your city was awesome! SC4 Rush Hour could have been also awesome if you drove in first person just like with SC2K.

  • besides the original PC theme song for this game, this is my favorite song...

  • this music defines my childhood, don't know if that's good or bad

  • what an awesome game i remember spending hours at a time building huge cities up :D this is much better than sim city 3000 its more old skool ;)

  • 0:05 is that the steve spaceship from spore? and in the game where does that come in on sim city 2000?

  • well the spaceship is from before spore so... watever to dat 1. though it does apear if u chosse the alien disaster.

  • this is the best music theme that sim city 2000 has

  • Comment removed

  • u idiot learn how to play it u can make the land flat

  • Thats not very nice! maybe he just didn't have the patience for this game, or didn't read the instructions! lol

  • if dont like the game why did you come here anyway ?

  • Me? I like your voice!

  • it was for early1900s

  • Yeah I realised, I was just being a smart ass = I'm Bored :(

  • wow. the PS1 version of Sim City 2000 has better music than the PC version. cool! ^.^

  • Totally!

  • YEA

    Brian dorsey

  • Well, the PC version used MIDI for audio, so it depends on how good your PC's MIDI synthesis is. You could get a sound card with a kickass built-in MIDI synth or a good software synthesizer; either way, you could load different patches into your MIDI synthesizer to make it sound different.

  • Where can you find some patches? And how do I know if they're compatible with my soundcard. My sound card has SoundMax Digital Audio, does that make a difference in the compatibility in different MIDI patches? Or is it all the same? I'd like to know. <:)

  • There are many MIDI patches available online; just search for "download MIDI patches". Unfortunately, some of the better ones are not free.

I believe SoundMax is an integrated motherboard audio chipset, and those audio chipsets typically don't have hardware MIDI (MIDI rendering is done via software). In that case, you would need a good software MIDI synthesizer that lets you load patches, which might not also be easily/freely available.

  • Why does this sound different from the way I remember it? It's the same song, yes, but it's somehow off... maybe the Mac version was a little different?

  • The sounds depended on your sound card; what MIDI sounds it could make.

I remember loaning SC2000 to a friend, then going to his house and being all like "wtf is with the sounds?"

  • i have simcity 2000

  • god what a tune. takes me back. made some citys with this in my head

  • It remembered me!!When i play sim city 2000 on PS1!!haha...

  • Cool Song

  • depuis le temps que je la cherchai

  • My favorite was the hydro electric

  • I love this theme! I didn't know it was also for the computer O_o Oh well...Still love it :D

  • nostalgie du passé...

  • This song reminds me of "Killer - by seal"

  • Thats exactly what I thought.

  • do you have the other songs from ps1 version?

    thx

  • ooooooooohhhhhh yeeeeaaaahhhhhhh

    luv

  • I Like The Metal Clanking In This Song

  • sweet. I head the dos version and this sounds kinda familiar. Wanted to hear all the songs from sim city 2000, this is the first I found. I think I remember one from the PC version that sounds kinda like a WEEN song.

I also didnt realise that you needed electric to make the 3 sectors grow for a long time. I mustve been like 7 or 8(22 now) when I first saw this game at my friends house.

My favorite thing was to call in disasters.

  • I love this song a lot. I was trying to find it on Sim City 4000, wich is the game i have now, but there is not this song. Thanks for putting it here. Yeah! Sim City is the best!

  • one of my fav music from video games ever; thx a lot for posting it!^^

  • can anyone say nostalgia?

  • nostalgia

  • Reminds me of game show music.

  • I think the pc version of this song is better

  • yea

  • Oh my god. I used to play this game all the time, about 10 years ago. This song gives me goose bumps and reminds me of the first years in ground school. That was back in the days! <3

  • i used to like the bass of the song ^^ i was there grooving whilst putting in some farms xD and yeah same like 10 years ago

  • i love the first one

  • Where can I find the whole compilation of the PSX version songs??

  • I would like that as well, as they sound much better than the PC midi songs.

  • creepy o.o this game freaked me out o.o

  • The music is wierd but cool.

  • i used to own this game!

I think it was confusing though

  • i use to hate this game but love the soundtrack!

  • Cool song and cool game

  • cool song, gj 5*

  • the music sounds so much more beautiful than on my computer. the onboard sound on my computer isnt that great

  • It's not your computer, the PS1, DOS and Windows 95 versions all had different versions of the same songs. And 95 had the shittiest. This is nice, but it's still not as catchy or clean as the DOS tunes (they were in .dll format for some reason O_O)

  • I remeber playing it on th ps1. Good times!!!!

  • Me too :)

I played this since I was 6 or something. After a year I discovered you need power to be able to build industry, residential and commercial zones :P
